Pairing: Hikaru Hitachiin x f!reader
Genre: fluff, angst, smut
Warnings: jealous and possessive Hikaru, unprotected sex (wrap it up), a dash of degradation, choking, and I think that’s it lmao
Summary: You’ve been dating Hikaru since high school but that doesn’t stop him from getting jealous of your coworker at the coffee shop
Word Count: 4.1k words
A/N: characters are aged up!!
Prompt #72 from my 1k Followers Event: “You’re Mine.”
You and Hikaru have been sweethearts since high school. The thing is, when you two first started dating, no one thought it was going to last, seeing as how you two were literally enemies until Hikaru kissed you to shut you up. After that kiss, you two avoided each other until Kaoru tried talking to you while pretending to be Hikaru. You weren’t blind though. You could tell it was Kaoru instead of his twin. You played along until the end though, only revealing you knew it was really him until he got his point across. His point was “I’m sorry for treating you so poorly. I’m just not very good with feelings and I didn’t know how to face you after the kiss without arguing with you.” You figured that Kaoru wouldn’t say something like that unless Hikaru felt that way himself. So, you grew a pair and talked to Hikaru after he was done with the Host Club.
“It appears I’m going to be the man in this relationship.” was the first thing you said to him, to which he scoffed at because A. if anyone is going to be the man, it’s him and B. who says you two are in a relationship?
You just kissed him and that easily proved your point. From then on, you two started dating, to everyone’s surprise. Just because you two were dating though doesn’t mean you two stopped fighting. While everyone else has their honeymoon phase, you two went right to the old married couple stage. They weren’t ever serious fights though. One time you two argued about who had better eyes. Hikaru couldn’t admit to you that it was definitely you and you couldn’t admit to him that it was actually him, so you both claimed that it was yourselves.
After that phase ended though, you two went into the honeymoon phase, which just confused everyone, including you and Hikaru. Suddenly, him leaving his used cup on your bedside table didn’t bother you anymore. You’ll just bring it down with you when you go downstairs. Hikaru realized that he didn’t mind you having your clothes thrown out in every other direction in his room anymore. His maid will just clean it up anyway. No harm done.
The honeymoon ‘phase’ was more annoying to everyone than the old married couple phase. Now, instead of you two arguing who wants the last piece of candy, you two are ‘arguing’ about who gets to kiss who last. It makes everyone gag. Honey senpai seems to think it’s really sweet though.
That was four years ago and now, you two are just as bad now as you were back then. Everyone, luckily and unluckily, decided to go to the same university. It is way out of your price range but that wasn’t going to stop your boyfriend of four years from getting you to go there. “I’ll pay off all your bills, babe. Don’t worry,” he’ll always reassure you despite your worries and nagging. You refuse to let him pay for it all though, so you got a job.
It was actually pretty easy to nail the job, seeing as how it’s at the coffee shop where you and the gang always went for energy boosters and to study. You were already friends with the manager from going in there so much, so when you asked if they were hiring, they practically hired you on the spot.
Hikaru didn’t like you having a job though.
“Why do you even work here? I can pay for everything, babe. You don’t have to worry about it. So why don’t you just quit? I miss hanging out with you,” he complains every time you leave for work, when he shows up to your work, and when you come back to your shared apartment. His argument, in your royal opinion, is stupid. If anything, you see him too much as it is. I mean, you already live with the guy and have half of your classes with him. What more does he want from you?
It took him a month to finally accept the fact that yes, you will pay for things yourself, and no, you are not quitting just because he wants you to. Once he realizes that you can secretly give him free coffee though, not that price ever mattered to him, he was happy. “Okay, but I also want a free muffin,” he finally agreed.
It was like that for maybe half a year before new problems started to arise. Your boss hired a new guy who you don’t even know the name of yet but, oh, Hikaru hates him already. “I don’t like him. He smells like too much Axe body spray and he has a weird, purple piercing in his eyebrow. And! And, he has a tattoo. A tattoo! Who does he think he is,” Hikaru complains to you while you try to do homework. He had gotten your schedule mixed up and when he went to go see you on your day off, he ran into the new guy. You weren’t surprised that he could tell he’s new since Hikaru is practically there as much as you are. He knows everyone and, of course, everyone loves him.
Not this guy though, apparently.
“When he gave me my coffee, it tasted off! Then, I realized, he didn’t add sugar! I didn’t say anything about sugar!” he continues to rant, making you sigh and set your pencil down. You turn to face him now, placing your hand over his and soothingly rubbing your thumb over his smooth skin.
“Baby, I’m sure it was an accident. He’s new, remember? I’m sure he just forgot to add it,” you reassure, giving his cheek a kiss once he takes a deep breath and lets it all go in one breath.
“Fine. I guess you’re right. But if he messes up again, I won’t hesitate to say something next time!” You giggle at this and nod your head, giving him a proper kiss this time to relax him even more.
“Okay, baby. You do that,” you tease before going back to your homework. This, of course, was just not okay.
“Babe, we’ve been studying for hours. Let’s take a break,” he coos, moving closer to you and starting to place kisses along your neck. You try to ignore him and focus but your boyfriend knows you too well. Knows your body too well.
“You mean I’ve been studying for hours. You’ve just been talking and playing on your phone,” you tease, a gasp ripping from you when he sucks and nibbles on your sweet spot. You feel him smirk against your skin, his hands coming to squeeze your thighs.
“Fair point. Makeout with me a little and then, and only then, will I study,” he bargains, making you roll your eyes.
“Fat chance,” you decline him as you playfully push him away, making him whine loudly.
“But baby—”
“No. Study and then, and only then, will I makeout with you,” you bargain right back, a smirk of your own coming to your face.
“You’re wicked,” he says with a dramatic gasp and a hand across his heart. When you don’t reply or even react, he groans before finally picking up his pencil. “Fine! You better take your shirt off too then,” he snaps before focusing on his work. Most of your study sessions go like this.
The next day at work, the new guy, Ritsu, came in in the middle of your shift. Your boss introduced the two of you once he put his stuff away in his locker, the guy seeming nervous for his next shift today. You smile at him and shake his hand, reassuring him that you’ll help him out today. He seems to relax at this, thanking you before starting to get to work. Whenever he had a question or messed up, you were right there to help him. The day, overall, went pretty smoothly you think.
At the end of your shifts, he grabs his things from his locker before walking to the front with you. “Do you need a ride home?” he asks as he walks over to his motorcycle. You smile at him but shake your head, taking your phone out of your pocket to check your messages.
“No, that’s okay. My boyfriend is picking me up and taking me out to dinner. Thank you though!” you reply with a sweet smile, Ritsu flashing you a smile back as he climbs onto his motorcycle.
“Okay, good. I didn’t want you walking home alone at night. I heard there was a robbery a couple of roads away from here,” he explains as he pulls his helmet on.
“Oh yeah. It was at the corner gas station. That’s so sweet of you to think of me though. I’ll be sure to let you know if I ever need a ride!” you thank once more. He nods as he turns the vehicle on, bidding you farewell with a salute before pulling out of the parking lot and onto the road.
You check the time and see that you have a few minutes until your boyfriend gets there. Luckily, he seemed to have left early because, within the next minute, he’s stopping right in front of you. “Well, hello there, good lookin’. Do you need a ride?” he playfully flirts. You hum and pretend to think about it as you walk over to his window.
“Well, I don’t know. Are you going to show me a good time?” you playfully flirt right back. He hums as he happily lets his eyes trail over your body despite your hideous work clothes. He didn’t seem to mind them though.
“Oh, you have no idea, baby. Don’t tell my girlfriend though.” You scoff as you burst into a fit of giggles, lightly hitting his arm before going to the passenger side.
“Well, that depends. Am I prettier than her?” you reply, batting your eyelashes at him as you slide into the car and pull your seatbelt over your body. He hums and nods his head, putting the car in reverse as he replies.
“Oh, most definitely. She’s like a fat cow,” he jokes, making you scoff and hit him again.
“I don’t think your girlfriend would appreciate you saying such things about her. What if I decide to tell her what you said about her?” you argue, crossing your arms over your chest as if you’re mad at him. You know for a fact that he’d never cheat on you. You always tease him that he’s too obsessed with you. ‘I love you! I’m not obsessed with you! There’s a difference!’ he’d always argue to your joking jab.
Before he can leave the parking spot, he stops the car to look at you with this new glint in his eyes. “What if I eat you out so good that you can’t even remember your own name, let alone mine?” he whispers right into your ear, his tongue licking around the shell of your ear. You let out a shaky breath, not expecting his sudden change in this little game you two were playing.
“I doubt you’re any good,” you sass, it lacking the power that you want it to have. He pulls away from the side of your head to make eye contact with you again, his eyes shining with a newfound lust.
“Well, I’ve only ever been with my girlfriend, so it’s possible. You should hear the way she screams my name though. She’ll cum three times from my mouth and fingers alone before I even give what she really wants inside of her,” he says lowly, your eyes moving to watch his lips as he talks. You press your legs together, already starting to feel arousal bubbling low in your gut.
“Is she any good in bed?” you decide to ask, bringing the attention off of him. You wait for him to say something along the lines of ‘no, she’s horrible’ but it seems he decides to stop playing your little game all of a sudden.
“She’s better than good. She sucks me off like I’m a popsicle and she just got out of the desert. She’s always so desperate to unravel me but I never do only because I know it works her up even more. She then starts acting like a brat, trying to get her way. We both know that’s just her way of annoying me to the point that I punish her. Mmhm, her screams sound so good when her face is shoved into our mattress,” he replies, his voice dropping an octave or two. You gulp at this, feeling your panties dampen with your slick.
“No wonder she’s your girlfriend,” you whisper, your throat suddenly too dry for your liking. He only hums before continuing with his driving, grabbing your hand and kissing the back of it once you two get on the road.
“What do you want to eat? I’m kind of in the mood for Mexican,” he says to you as if he didn’t just make you so horny that the only thing you can think about is having him inside of your mouth instead of food.
“That sounds fine,” you say softly, trying to think of anything but that. He smirks at the way you sound, which is slightly wrecked, and starts to head in the direction of a Mexican restaurant that you two like. That night ended, of course, with him deep inside of you and grunting out all sorts of deliciously dark things into your ear.
Things continued on like normal for a while. You went to work but didn’t get to work with Ritsu again for a week, so Hikaru never ran into him again. The day you did work with him though, he seemed to be struggling more than usual. So, when there was a break in customers, you decide to ask him what was up.
“Sorry. I got into this fight with my girlfriend, Mei, this morning,” he explains, a frown hanging heavy on his face. You nod your head, only too familiar with that feeling. You and Hikaru don’t have serious fights a lot but you, obviously, have them just like every other couple.
“It’s okay. I understand. Do you want to talk about it? Maybe I can give you my opinion or some advice?” you offer, wanting to help him feel better. He thinks about your offer for a moment before sighing and giving in, starting to tell you everything that had happened that morning. You two occasionally pause to help a customer but always end up focusing back on his situation. As a woman yourself, you look at his story from her point of view and figure out what might be the cause of her frustrations.
“Okay,” you say once he finishes his story, “I think I see what the problem is.” You then tell him what you think and what he should do to mend their relationship. After hearing your advice, he realized what he did wrong and gets so excited that he hugs you.
“Thank you so much! It all makes sense now! No wonder she was so upset! You’re seriously a lifesaver! I owe you one!” He hugs you tightly, making you giggle and return the hug.
“It’s no problem at all,” you reassure. You two pull away when you hear the bell ring, automatic smiles coming to your face to greet your new customer. Your eyes widened when you saw your boyfriend instead though. A very angry and brooding boyfriend at that. “Babe? What are you doing here? I thought you weren’t going to be here for another hour?” you ask confusedly, walking around the counter to give him your usual hug and kiss.
His eyes are on Ritsu though.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Do you not want me here? Am I interrupting something?” he snaps, his eyes squinting at Ritsu as he says this. Your brows furrow at his words, stopping in front of him and dropping your arms since it’s obvious that he’s not going to give you a hug.
“What? Well, I’m working but—”
“Oh, sorry to bother you then. I’ll let you get right back to it,” he snaps, turning his glare to you before leaving without another word. He doesn’t stop or turn around when you call after him either, making you sigh as a frown comes to your face.
“What’s up with him?” you mumble, trying to think as to why he would be mad. That’s when it hit you. You hugging Ritsu? Did that upset him? But why? You hug guys all of the time. Well, not all of the time. And then again, they’re his friends too or your family. You snap out of your daze when the bell jingles again, signaling a new customer. You sigh and go back behind the counter, smiling and greeting the customer happily. Guess you’ll just have to talk to him about it later then.
When you get off work and you get back home, you find that Hikaru isn’t home. You think back to what he was telling you yesterday, remembering him telling you his plans for today. You check the time on the microwave before looking at your fridge for any notes. He doesn't have any plans right now that you are aware of and he didn’t leave a note telling you where he was going or when he’ll be back. Maybe there was an emergency? That just makes you worry more though.
You let it go with a heavy exhale, trying not to read too much into it. You don’t have to know where he is every second of every day.
You go to your bathroom to take a shower and get the smell of coffee off of you. You end up accidentally using his body wash though, the smell of cinnamon and ginger filling your nostrils. It’s not your favorite but it’s what he’s been using for years. He pulls off the smell really well though.
You step out of the shower and wrap yourself up in a baby blue towel, leaning against the sink to look at your skin in the mirror. After applying some lotion to your body to make you feel extra nice, you leave the bathroom. You stop at the door though when you find Hikaru sitting on the bed, his feet still on the floor and his hands hanging between his knees. Now you’re even more concerned. Normally, he would’ve jumped at the opportunity to take a shower with you but now he won’t even look at you.
“Hikaru,” you call out softly to him, seeming to bring him out of his daze. You walk over to him and come to stand in between his legs, making him sit up straighter. His eyes glaze over your bare collarbones and neck, something spurring to life in his eyes as water droplets cascade down your soft skin.
“You’re mine,” he says suddenly, his eyes snapping to yours. Your eyes widen a bit at this random declaration, your brow raising curiously at him.
“What?” is your brilliant reply to him. You gasp when he stands and switches your positions in a flash, the back of your knees hitting the bed before you fall back onto it. You gape up at him, your hands clinging to the front of your towel.
“You heard me. You’re mine!” he growls, his hands snagging your towel away from you before you can even attempt to stop him. His eyes wander your body, a dark look in his eyes as he takes his sweet time admiring your naked body.
“Hikaru,” you breathe his name, goosebumps crawling over your flesh. He hums in response, one of his knees coming to the bed so he can lean over you, his fingers starting to trace random lines and patterns into your skin.
“That’s right. Say my name, baby,” he coos, his fingers coming to tweak your nipples. You moan his name in response, back arching up into his hands. He watches you with attentive eyes, not daring to look away from your lewd expressions or wet hole for even a second. He loves how quickly you react to his touch, your body always craving his as much as his craves yours. “Who do you belong to?” he asks as he crawls completely over you, staring into your eyes as he lets his hands crawl down your body.
“You,” you whisper breathlessly.
“Who?” he growls, suddenly shoving two of his fingers into your drooling heat.
“You, Hikaru!” you cry, back arching when he slips a third finger in. He hums lowly as he pumps his fingers in and out of you, scraping the pads of his fingers against your g-spot to get you really moaning for him.
“That’s right, baby. You’re all mine, now and forever,” he whispers before pulling his fingers out, making you whimper. He brings his dry hand up to your throat, squeezing it lightly as he stares into your eyes. “Shut up! Dirty whores like you don’t get to cum until I say so,” he hisses, not letting your neck go as he uses his other hand to remove his pants and boxers. “‘M gonna fill you up, remind you that you only belong to me,” he mumbles, his hand frantically trying to pull his member free.
Your brows furrow at this as you bring your hands up to his chest. Before you can question him though, he starts to push into you. You both groan in sync as he slips inside, your eyes rolling back into your head for a moment. You forget about his words for now, your brain only thinking about the way he feels inside of you.
He just barely bottoms out before he’s already pulling back to thrust back in, starting a frantic pace. You moan his name loudly, your nails lightly scratching his chest, causing him to hiss. He keeps up the frenzied pace, your breasts bouncing with each thrust.
You both cum almost at the same time, Hikaru finally giving you permission to cum after denying you your orgasm over and over again. He keeps true to his word, pushing deep inside of you and coating your walls white. He stays inside of you for a while, his chest heaving as he tries to get air back. He slowly releases your throat, and instead brushes his fingers against your cheek.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers, his eyes shining with regret. You’re confused for a moment, thinking that that’s some of the best sex you’ve ever had. Then you remember his words from before, how he kept saying you’re his and that no one is going to take you from him.
“What’s going on, my love?” you whisper, still a little breathless. He looks away from you, starting to worry his lip between his teeth.
“Don’t leave me for him,” he whispers, and if you weren’t just a couple of inches away from him, you wouldn’t have heard it. He pulls out of you then and moves to lay beside you, putting his back to you.
“What? Hey. Hey, look at me,” you say worriedly, pushing yourself up onto your elbow as you use your free hand to gently trace random shapes into his back. It takes him a minute but he eventually turns onto his back, staring at the ceiling instead of you. “What’s all this ‘leaving me’ talk about? We’ve been dating for years, Hikaru. Why would I want to leave you for someone else?” you ask with furrowed brows, starting to run your hand through his hair to help soothe him. He leans into your touch, his eyes finally meeting yours. Despite your reassuring words, he looks scared, worried.
“What about Mr. Coffee-Shop-Hotshot? You seemed to like him a lot,” he grumbles, his mouth turning into a scowl just at the thought of the man. You can’t help but smile at how jealous he is, your heart swelling with the amount of love you hold for the man before you.
“You dope, he was asking me for advice about his girlfriend. That hug happened because he was thanking me for basically saving his relationship,” you inform, a smirk on your face as you watch the realization come over his face.
“Oh,” he squeaks out, his face turning sheepish and red. You snort and move to lay your head down on his chest.
“You’re such an idiot. You should know by now that you’re the one for me, idiot and all,” you tease, gently rubbing his chest and abdomen. He huffs and wraps his arms around you, holding you tightly to him.
“Whatever. As if you wouldn’t get upset if I was hugging another girl,” he accuses.
“You act as if another girl would even come near someone as ugly as you,” you tease, obviously joking.
“Hey!”

You and Hikaru have been dating for 8 months. You at first, never wanted to date in high school because you wanted to focus on school. But then you met Hikaru. You guys met in English class and you clicked instantly. And then after a couple of months of getting to know each other, you guys started to develop crushes on each other. After a month of both of you finding out these feelings, Hikaru asked you out and you said yes.
Now here’s the tricky part of being in a relationship with Hikaru. He of course has a twin brother. And the problem with that is they always play the “Which one is Hikaru” game. And of course you would always lose because you could never tell the difference. You would always tell them that you will get it right one day.
And today was that day.....or so you thought.
You were heading towards the host club at lunch. To see if you improved your skills on telling the difference between Hikaru and Kaoru. You see him. You smile to yourself, thinking about how he will never see it coming.
You start to walk to him, waving at the other hosts too as you go by. You got close and looked over his shoulder to see if he was with someone, he wasn’t. So you ran up to him and kissed his cheek. “Hi baby!” You said with joy in your voice and a big smile. “Y/N. I’m not Hikaru…..” You look at him in confusion and then it hit you.” “Oh my god Kaoru, I am so sorry!” “No it’s okay we’re twins, so I get it.” He smiled at you. “Since your here for Hikaru, he’s in the back Kyoya.” “Awesome thanks!” “No problem!” You start to walk to the back where Hikaru would be. As you are about to grab the curtain to pull it back some else does. “Oh! Hey baby!” You say with a big smile on your face. But Hikaru just walks past you.
“Hey, uhhh baby?” You run a bit to catch up to him. “What Y/N?” He says in an annoyed tone. “Hey! what’s gotten into you?” You say now stepping in front of to stop him from walking. “Why don’t ask my brother?” He snarls. “Is this what this is about?” “Yes! You kissed my brother!” He says in a loud voice but not a yell. This caught the attention of people in the host club.Haruhi walks up to you guys. “Listen I don’t know what’s happening but you guys should discuss this when the club is closed. Alright?” You both look at her and give her a nod.
You walk towards one of the couches, sitting and watching as Hikaru goes back to do his job. You sit there wondering how you are going to explain yourself to him. Like you know the truth but your not sure how that’s going to come across to Hikaru. You then see Kaoru walk up to Hikaru and they seem to be engaged in a conversation. You stare at them, hoping that Kaoru is telling Hikaru what happened. You feel someone sit beside you, turning your head you see it is Haruhi. “I brought you some tea, thinking you might need it after that small blow up you and Hikaru had.” You smile at her taking the cup from her hand. You guys engage in some small talk and enjoying each others company.
“Well I hope everything goes well for you guys, wishing you the best of luck.” She smiles at you. You give her one back. “Thank you.” Has she walks away, you sit there and wait until Hikaru is done cleaning the club a bit. After about 10 minutes Hikaru walks up to you and sits down beside you. Both of you sit there for awhile not knowing how to start this conversation. “ I didn’t mean to kiss him.” You say looking at him. “ I know, but it scared me to see you kiss him.” Hikaru looked at you with a sad look on his face. “ Why?” “Because I was scared of losing you to Kaoru. He’s more of the favorite one now, ever since we started dating.” You looked at him a bit shocked. Surprised that he thought he would lose you to him. “Sweetie I would never do that to you.” “I know, it’s just a fear that I have and I saw you kiss him.....” “You thought your fear came true.”
“I’m sorry.” “Thank you.” You guys sit in silence for a while enjoying it now that the elephant is out of the room. You get from the couch, “Where are you going?” You stand in front and sit yourself on his lap wrapping your arms around his neck. “I wanted to sit on your lap. I missed your warmth.” He laughs a little and wraps his arms around your waist. “I missed yours too.” Kissing you on top of your head swaying you a bit and enjoying that this little bump in the road is going to bring you guys closer.
Hey Guys!!! Sorry for the very long hiatus, I was struggling a bit with my mental health and I am also in high school. So updates will be a bit iffy. I will try to at least post once a week fanfic wise. Thank you so much for reading and please please request!
Hikaru and Tamaki angst(seperate) where reader watches them fall for Haruhi and they know the boys would never love them cuz they're nothing like her. After moping they move on and fall for someone new and confess. Too bad the boys notice this and realize they love reader not Haruhi. Reader realizes they're trying to doom their relationship with this new person and just blow up on the boys saying they're finally happy and they're ruing it. Boys watch reader be happy without them. Angst ending.
does this count as unrequited love? idk somebody tell me. I cut them a little short so I could fit Hikaru and Tamaki in one post. Tbh i kinda went off track from the request but i really like how they turned out!
moving on - Tamaki x Reader, Hikaru x reader (separate)

Hikaru
There are two reasons you never confessed your feelings towards Hikaru Hitachiin.
One, you didn’t want to have the twins try to pull a switch on you.
Two, he loved Haruhi Fujioka.
It was clear from the second that you met the host club that he had feelings for her. Yet it didn’t stop you from having your own feelings for the boy.
The four of you were in the same class. This was by far the best and worst part of having feelings for him. It meant you could spend hours with him everyday. But, it also meant you had to watch how he looked at Haruhi completely different than he did at you.
How could you possibly compete with her?
you can’t.
it’s at 12 am one night when you suddenly realize that moping around hoping that Hikaru would give you his affection for even a second will never happen.
Crying at night, longing for his touch and attention won’t change anything.
You make up your mind that night.
You’re moving on.
It’s a lot easier said than done.
feelings don’t work in a way where if you chose to disregard them, the will disappear.
your heart still cracks a little every time you see him look longingly at her. You still wish he was looking at you. But he isn’t, and the sooner you get that thought into your head, the better.
they eat together, they do their work together, they spend their breaks together. They do everything thing you wish you could do with him.
there’s a thought in your mind. A small itching thought. That the two might just be dating. You’re moving on but you still don’t want it to be true. It would make sense though right? If they’re dating it would explain why they act so much like a couple. A seed is planted in your head that day. They’re dating.
Does your heart shatter at the thought? Yes.
Did it help you get over him? Also yes.
Months pass and you’re now in a loving relationship with none other than Takashi Morinozuka. Haruhi and Hikaru have been publicly dating since the start of your relationship.
You don’t remember the last time Hikaru had tried to talk to you outside of class, and to be quite frank, you didn’t care either. So when he tries to talk to you at lunch, when the classroom is empty, your thoughts are running wild.
“Can we talk?”
“...”
“why don’t you like me anymore?”
“Why do you care? We’re both in separate relationships.”
“I think, I’m in love with you. Not Haruhi.”
“It’s a little too late for that. I’m happy with Mori.”
you leave the classroom. If you stayed both of you would spiral. You’re happy with Mori, he needs to know that you’ve moved on. He is no longer the one in your eyes or in your heart.
Tamaki
“When we’re older, lets get married!”
He said this to you when you we’re both children. No worries in the world, running around you the school rose garden. At the time it didn’t stick to you. You didn’t even have the slightest idea of what marriage was. But you agreed anyway.
“Remember, you can’t date anybody!! We’re getting married when we’re older!”
Elementary school, recess. The same day a boy in your class had confessed his feelings to you. You felt horrible for leaving the boy like that. But Tamaki had dragged you away to remind you of your childhood promise.
“Come to the dance with me! We can steal the spotlight as if we’re practising for our future wedding!”
Middle school, lunch time. The tickets to the school’s next dance are being sold. Tamaki makes sure you’re the person he goes with.
You’ve always known that he never meant it. How could somebody so easily stick by something they said as a child? There’s no way he actually thought the two of you would get married right?
You think it’s a joke. You want it to be a joke. Until the day comes when he and Haruhi start dating. You wish you could take it all back. Take his words seriously.
They dance together in the middle of the dance floor. Fingers intertwined, bodies pressed close. They look so elegant, so graceful. All you can think about, is how much you wish you were her in that moment.
Kyoya taps your shoulder and offers his hand. No words need to be exchanged as you place your hand in his and he guides the two of you to the rose garden.
“I thought you’d like a break from the crowded inside. Get some air, dance in the moonlight.”
“You always seem to know just what I need.”
Your hands intertwine with his as the two of you dance to the music that is still audible from the ballroom. You rest your head on his shoulder, taking in the scent of whatever expensive cologne he’s got on. Your eyes meet, as your bodies inch closer together.
Tamaki Suoh feels his heart break in his chest, as he watches his best friend and first love kiss in the garden where everything began.

you sat in your dark cold room thinking about the 2 years you wasted on Kyoya Ootori
You were to foolish, you kept on thinking if I could go back two years and tell my stupid self to say no my heart wouldn’t of been in pain like this, you didn’t knew if you were sad or angry, memories of your youth wasted was all you could of remembered
You remembered all the dates you went on which you talked to much and he just gives you 3 word answers or how he looked unamused with you whenever you told him a joke or gave him a kiss, it was so embarrassing on how much u looked like a fool towards him, on how most time he didnt acknowledged your existence, you were the only one putting most of the effort in the relationship
You didn’t come to school for a week because you got sick, you spent that time with your family proving your family’s innocence, You didn’t think about him during the day, but at night you couldn’t even sleep, all you thought of was him and how he did you wrong, you got texts from haruhi and the host club but you were to afraid to open them… your family decided to move you and your brother to France to live with your aunt, and they didn’t say when you could come back, were you really moving from your home Japan In a month before graduation? Well at least you don’t have to see Kyoya ever again…
It has been a week and today you are going to school, and see everything unwind it felt so suspenseful, what was going to happen? How do you avoid him? Before you went to school you saw that you are still wearing the ring, the ring he brought for him and you, the ring he threw away, you didn’t have the heart to throw it away so you putted it in a little purple pouch he brought for you when u were at the mall, you kept it in your drawer and left for school, everyone still whispering about you, the weird stares, you didn’t care anymore you didn’t give a fuck
The day went fast and Haruhi checking up on if you were ok, Her calling him and jerk, it is now after school usually by now you would of went to the host club to see your boyfriend, but today you passed by and saw Tamaki, he saw you and said”Y/n Chan how are you?, I’m sorry the idiot did that I can talk to him if u want me to?”, “it’s ok Tamaki… me and him are done for and I’m ok with that, I’m rooting for you and Haruhi tho haha” you said trying to sound cheerful having watery eyes, “Y/nnnn come eat strawberry cake with me and usa-chan” honey senpai said by the door, “hah not today Honey senpai, sorry I got some homework to do, I’ll come by maybe next time” you said “aww ok y/n cya around” honey said
You left school and returned home, repeating the same routine for 2 weeks, trying to avoid the host club was hard but you did it, you were about to move soon you were going to miss the host club and Haruhi, you kept on thinking if you should tell Haruhi, and the host club members if you were moving or not
You did, you planned to tell them after school…(time skip after school) You entered the host club nervously, but a sigh of relief noticing that Kyoya wasn’t there, everyone was surprised to see you, you haven’t felt happy in a long time, but it had to end, “hey guys I’ve got something to tell you…” “what is it y/n” they all said, “I’m moving in about two weeks to France, I just wanted to say that and thank you for all the time I spent with you all” you said holding in your tears, you didn’t know it would feel this painful, without you knowing your face was tear stained, They were all schocked by the news, “Y/n why didn’t you tell us sooner?” Haruhi said angered, “ “it was to hard for me to tell u guys” you said crying “No y/n don’t cry your going to make me and Usa Chan cry” honey senpai said sad, “we could of spent more time with you, you idiot” said the twins in unison, mori senpai just looking at you sadly, and Tamaki still shocked, after the conversation they planned to spend the remaining time with you before you moved
It is now your last day in Japan, your parents asked if you didn’t want to go to school today but you just wanted to look back at the memories, today you came to school really early, you walked pass the water fountain where he confessed to you in freshman year and broke up with you, you standed near the fountain for about a good and bad 20 minutes reminiscing about all the good times, till you saw Tamaki
“Hey y/n… have you told Kyoya about today is your last day in Japan? He said nervous, “ no I haven’t, and I don’t think he would care, it doesn’t benefit him in anyway”you sighed “do you want me to tell him for you? He asked nervously, “I’m sorry Tamaki but please don’t tell him, he wouldn’t even care that I’m moving and he’s not even my boyfriend…” you said sad, “your really sure?” He asked “yes please promise me and tell the host club members to not tell him anything about where I am” you said, alright well We’ll see you at the airport Y/n” he said leaving to a class
You left walking to the administration office to give them your papers, until you saw Him Kyoya staring at you for a long time, he was about to say something to you butyou were scared and nervous but you just ignored him and left, You spent the rest of the school day hanging with Haruhi and, Haruhi reminding you to send her letters and frequent texts, school ended and you looked at the host club door one more time, then left to get your luggage to the airport
You holded your luggage with your brother to the airport, seeing the host club members giving you a last hug before you left you yelled,“TAMAKI REMEMBER TO INVITE ME TO YOU AND HARUHIS WEDDINGGGG, I’M ROOTING FOR THE BOTH OF YOUUUUUUU” you said with tears in your eyes, you looked back and left on the plane to Paris France, goodbye Japan, goodbye Ouran Academy, Goodbye to my dearest friends, and goodbye to the boy I still can get over… Kyoya Ootori
***2 weeks later in the Ouran host club****
“Tamaki where’s y/n?” Kyoya said
“I’m not allowed to tell, sorry” Tamaki said
“Tamaki I’m being serious right now where’s Y/n?” He said nervous
“Wait Y/n Chan didn’t tell you she moved ?” Honey Senpai said butting in
“Wha-?” Kyoya said shocked
“We weren’t suppose to tell him!” Hikaru and Kauru said
“Why would you care Kyoya senpai?” Haruhi said
Kyoya was in shock of the news that he just heard…
Warnings: Angst, major character death, mentions of a car wreck and aneurysm, and there is some fluff if you squint
A/N: Today’s fic is inspired by a song that makes me want to fall in love. I know it seems odd considering the lyrics but it’s just the meaning behind it that I find beautiful and is the reason I chose this song. Plus the other ones I had lined up didn’t strike inspiration the way I had hoped.
You sat at the table with dinner all made and set, waiting for Takashi to walk through the door any minute now with the items you asked for him to pick up on his way home from work.
But it was forty minutes past time he would usually arrive home and all he had to pick up was more milk.
He was never a man to dawdle in the grocery store unless it was the two of you together, debating and brainstorming ideas of what to make.
But those minutes slowly began to eat away as your dinner began to go cold and your heart began to sink.
He was a man of punctuality.
But today he was far from it.
You began to pace the dining room and checked your phone, but it was eerily quiet too.
No texts and no calls.
You needed to distract yourself so you let out a gentle sigh, sitting back down, and eating what cold food your stomach could muster with all the knots building up. However each bite you took down, your body was ready to throw it back up.
You only got half way in before giving up and pushing your plate away.
Calm down, breathe.
It was just traffic! Maybe the roads started to get busy like they usually do at a time like this.
Maybe he ran into an old friend in the milk isle and they got to talking, losing track of time.
Scenario after scenario and lie after lie, you told yourself something comforting to keep the anxiety at bay. But like many other times, your anxiety was winning.
You wanted to go out and look for him, but your body wouldn’t allow you the effort to leave.
Because you convinced yourself he could return when you’re gone. He would be home any minute now.
But he never came and those minutes you kept telling yourself, whisked away into hours like the food that now sat in the bottom of your trash can.
It was growing late and there was no way you could go to bed without your fiance when you had no idea where he was or what was going on- hoping with all your might that maybe it was one of Tamaki’s stupid ideas to drag him somewhere.
But Tamaki hadn’t heard from him. No one had.
Was it cold feet maybe? Did his insecurities finally win and convince him he wasn’t good enough for you?
With a shake of your head you tried to scatter the thoughts or with any luck shake out of your brain, but they just came flooding back.
You adjusted against the arm of the couch, tucking yourself into the blanket even more, closing your eyes for just a brief moment and replacing the warmth from the fuzzy throw with Takashi’s arms.
Your heart settled for just a moment at the thought, but it was all ripped away when the sound of your phone ripped through the house from the kitchen.
The silence was finally broken, startling you from your peaceful daydream as you walked, feet padding against the cold tiled floor as you made your way to the counter.
It wasn’t the person you were hoping for- in fact there was no name attached, just an unknown number you hadn’t seen before.
You gulped and quickly answered.
“Is this Y/N?”
“Yes, who is this?”
You could hear them gulp on the other end of the line before they spoke, telling you that you were the emergency contact on file and that Takashi was in intensive care. “I think it’s best if you make your way down here. He’s currently stable but we don’t know how long he’s going to have.”
Your heart dropped and shattered into a million pieces, before you could ask any questions you were letting them know you were on your way and quickly hanging up.
With the speed of light you grabbed your wallet and keys, slipping on the nearest shoes and pulling on a pair that didn’t even match.
But right now how could you care when the man you loved more than anyone in this world was slipping away at a speed you knew nothing about?
Your hand was shaking as you tried to push the key in the ignition, swearing under your breath as tears began to blur your vision. Finally on the third try you were able to get the key in, turning it quickly and bringing the car to life.
You wiped the tears that already spilled out and attempted to calm your nerves enough to drive. But you couldn’t remain calm as you drove.
Your foot seemed heavier than normal and your road rage infinitely much worse that matched something of a demon- yelling and crying at anyone who dared to drive below the speed limit.
In a matter of time you were peeling into the parking lot and hurrying to find a parking place, not caring if you were too close to the lines. Once your car was in park and shut off you scrambled into the hospital, the bright fluorescent lights blinding you as you made your way to the front desk.
The nurse behind the desk took one look, immediately giving you a face of sympathy as you closed the distance, hands trembling as you caught your balance on the desk.
The weight of what she might say was ready to crush you at any given moment.
“Takashi, Takashi Morinozuka. I received a call and was told he’s in intensive care?”
The nurse flashed a gentle smile, paging down one of the nurses to lead you there.
The gentleman gave you the same face as he led you down what felt like a maze of a million hallways before coming to the intensive care unit.
Takashi’s doctor was at the doctor’s station nearby, catching your eye and coming over before the nurse could directly take you to your fiance’s room.
The doctor wore the same, gentle smile as he told you everything they currently knew about Takashi. He filled you in on how he was brought in from a wreck and they had discovered that there was an aneurysm that was bleeding out, they were thankfully able to stop the bleeding before it got too serious.
But they didn’t know they had missed one that was still leaking out.
He told you of his broken bones, punctured lung, and lesions. How he had some bruises that were already showing, attempting to prepare you.
It was all muffled as your brain began swirling, but all stopping when you heard that he was conscious currently.
The doctor led you to his room, and you could see him through the pieces of glass. Before he even opened the door you knew Takashi looked and felt like hell.
But you still weren’t mentally prepared when he opened the door to see him with wires and tubes, cuts and already formed bruises decorated his face and arms that were currently visible to you.
You didn’t know just how much more damage he sustained away from the naked eye.
Takashi’s eyes fell on you once you walked in, giving you an apologetic smile as you made your way over, dragging the chair closer.
The sound of the metal on the tile drowning out the machines beeping.
“I’m sorry,” was all he muttered out.
“Takashi please don’t be sorry. This- this wasn’t your fault.”
He didn’t try to confirm or deny your words as he carefully took your hand in his, gently giving it a squeeze.
It was obvious how much he was currently fighting just to get to spend this time with you, and it was breaking your heart even more.
“Come closer.”
You obeyed, leaning closer to him, breaking when you felt his busted lip gently place a kiss to your head, hand coming up and carefully catching the tears that finally got to break free.
“Y/N.”
You looked to his eyes, discarding the fact one had a blood vessel busted, instead choosing to get lost in the storm gray of his eyes. They were currently a typhoon of emotions, and only half of them you could read.
“Let’s just be happy for right now?”
You took in a breath, knowing full well he was right. You couldn’t let the last thing he’d see be you breaking down, so instead you pulled back and finished drying up your own tears.
“Y/N, can you imagine the life we would’ve had?”
“It would’ve been an amazing one, Takashi. We would go wherever we wanted for our honeymoon before truly starting our lives together. How many kids would you have wanted?”
“As many as you’d allow me.”
You blushed a bit at the confession, “Three is a good number.”
He smiled softly, “Two girls and a boy.”
“Why two girls? We’d overrun the house,” you teased.
“Either way the queen would oversee them all. Their brother would protect them.”
“Yeah he would. He definitely would if he turned out to be anything like you.”
He hummed in response, “A dog would’ve been nice too.”
“Could you imagine if it was massive? We could probably stick Mitsukuni on it like a horse.”
Your heart jumped as you pulled a small laugh from him before he coughed.
“You’d make me happy for all my days- you have made me happy.”
“Takashi…”
“Y/N, let me finish. Don’t call the others until after I’m gone. Mitsukuni will help you. He’ll get you anything you need. Please, try to take care of yourself. Take care of yourself in the ways I couldn’t and that I won’t be able to.”
“Sweetheart, please…”
“I just hope I made you--”
“Please don’t do this to yourself right now. Takashi you’ve,” you stopped yourself blinking. “I have a crazy idea. It’s going to sound insane but what would you say if I wanted to get married. Right here, right now.”
He blinked, clearly not expecting you to say that before he smiled wider than earlier he had, reopening the wound on his lip. “The nurse button is on the remote.”
You nodded and quickly called for them to get the chaplain.
The two of you killed the time by continuing the talks of the life you’d live together. The life of grandchildren, being together through thick and thin, sickness and health, for richer or poor- the pets you would have and how you would grow old together remaining side by side. You even talked of the house you would’ve wanted, remaining close to the Haninozuka’s like Takashi would’ve wanted.
Your children would’ve been close to the Haninozuka’s like Takashi was so used to.
They would be raised in the Morinozuka way, but also given a freedom to choose the life they’d want to live
And when the chaplain came in it was clear he was expecting words of prayer by the way his face contorted into a bit of confusion when you asked him to marry you.
He looked at Takashi as if silently asking him if it’s what he wanted.
Takashi nodded his head and the chaplain began the service, doing a shorter version than usual given the circumstances.
You could tell as you watched him throughout, that he was slowly losing his fight.
And when it came time for his vows it took all the strength you had to not burst into tears right then and there. You would need to save them until after he was gone.
Takashi gave you a loving look as he gave your hand a gentle squeeze, “Y/N, I will always love you. Always and forever, from now until my last breath. I will love you even when I’m not here. You will always be my home and the one I love most. I will forever cherish the time we have spent together.”
The chaplain smiled softly, continuing on.
You could tell when it was time to seal your marriage with a kiss, that he was close to losing his battle.
You gently cupped his face, being mindful of the injuries and placing a gentle kiss on the lips to your now husband.
Takashi gently held your chin, giving you the same gentle and loving kiss to your lips.
You pulled away just enough to take one last look into those dark gray eyes that made you feel at ease and right at home, “It’s okay Takashi. I’ll be okay, you can go now. I will love you, always and forever.”
He gave you one last gentle smile, his voice barely coming out as he told you he loved you too before his voice broke off and the machines around you began to signal he was gone.
The tears you were holding back immediately came cascading down your face as you wept into the man you loved more than anyone else in this world.

“All I know, loving you is a losing game.”
College/Young Professional Hikaru x female reader
Angst
Warnings: I’m not exactly sure what to write. It’s not NSFW, it’s not smut, but there are mentions of sleeping around. No details, nothing explicit, only some mentions of it for context. No description or anything like that. Basically Hikaru being a deadbeat. Lots of angst. One or two instances of language.

Hikaru Hitachiin was an asshole.
You knew this before you started dating. His reputation had preceded him on your college campus, his bedroom the holy grail of frat houses. Seems like every time you walked through the academic lawn you could hear another story from another drooling student about another escapade he had put them through, another quest he had conquered. Rumor had it he collected rings from his lovers and wore them like notches in his belt, walking around in his sunglasses and leather jacket, hands out and swinging like an advertisement of his deeds.
It was disgusting, how he considered it all a game. A game he would always win, and they would always lose.
You couldn’t judge those wide-eyed students. Despite your anger, you understood the fascination with him: a man set to inherit millions, a confident attitude, enough bad boy swagger to dominate every frat you knew. And he was gorgeous--that red hair flaming in the wind, cocky smile reaching up to hazel eyes even made you feel weak in the knees.
But you ignored it, storming past him in the halls and never responding to his advances. Despite being born into wealth and power, he was the kind of man who always wanted what he couldn’t have--you, especially. You knew that to him you were just another notch on his belt, a ring on his finger. You’d die before you gave him that satisfaction.
Eventually, though, human nature had its way. You don’t remember how it happened, but one day he smiled at you, a real, genuine, lovely smile, and your stomach dropped. All you knew was that you were in big, big trouble.
You were in love.
Suddenly, the hatred had turned into a desire for him to be better, the disgust into wanting. You weren’t proud of it, but you couldn’t stop it. The curling of your toes became involuntary, the fleeting glances more stable. You couldn’t deny that the way he smiled at you made you dream of more. As you two became friends, even finding somethings in common, enjoying time spent together, you thought that maybe this wasn’t a game to him.
And then, one night, the barrier was broken.
It wasn’t a mistake, per se, but it did upend your life--out of that night your child was conceived, and you felt your heart dissolve into a thousand pieces. Suddenly you were yanked from your small town into the spotlight of Tokyo, the woman bearing Hikaru Hitachiin’s love child.
His first instinct was to run. Fresh out of college with a steady career path was in line for both of you, but now there was something else to account for, a little heartbeat intertwining both of yours. When he saw the positive stick, he experienced true fear for the first time. Fear that he would now have to give up his selfish ways, give up those games, give up his own reckless plans.
Neither of you wanted that.
And you--you were angry. Angry at him for doing this to you, despite being so careful. Angry for letting yourself fall for him into his chess board. Angry that you, and now your child, would be forever attached to him. You had done everything right so far, gotten into college, nabbed a great job, finally made something of yourself. And to have a child with him, of all people.
No matter how hard you tried, you would always lose his game.
The two of you broke up four months in, after tense weeks of disagreements and expectations. You wanted to keep the baby, but you had just gotten hired, and you couldn’t afford to waste all your college-earned credits in your first year of professional adulthood. So he pulled some strings and made your boss keep you, with generous maternity leave. For that you were the least bit thankful, but still hurting.
Something you hadn’t expected was him publicly claiming the child as his. Rumors spread, and he still loved you enough to keep you away and hidden from the paparazzi. But when asked if he did have a baby on the way, he couldn’t lie--that earned him a shred of respect from you.
Claiming the baby as his guaranteed comfort and financial support for the rest of its life, and yours, as well. You hated touching his money, but what else could you do? It was part of the rules.
When it came time to give birth, you didn’t know if Hikaru would show. You didn’t know if you wanted him to. He had accompanied you on all prenatal visits and regularly checked in on you during the pregnancy, but actually seeing the baby was a barrier you didn’t know he would be willing to break.
And yet, he did. You crushed his hand throughout labor, until the nurse handed you your wailing son. Your first impression of him was that he was beautiful, a mirror image of his father. That was a fact you didn’t even hate--and when you placed him in Hikaru’s arms, seeing this intriguing man become selfless for the first time in his life, you felt some shred of love return.
He stayed in your apartment for the first six weeks. It was lavished with everything a celebrity baby would need, but having him sleep beside you again was the real treat. You didn’t want to admit it, but feeling his arms and hearing him breathe in his sleep made you feel that heady, heart swelling way again.
Maybe you could all be a little family after all. Maybe he did, in fact, love you in return.
You two were able to laugh again, mosey about doing chores and enjoy spending time together. You had forgotten how easy it was to talk to him. He had forgotten how quickly you could roast him. Somehow, you both were able to patch up the brokenness and feel love again. Perhaps having a baby had matured him, made him lose focus of his games.
Another barrier broken: he kissed you.
You had just finished nursing your son and were pumping when Hikaru came into the bedroom. He sat on the armchair in the corner, resting after deep cleaning the bathroom, but when he looked at you, he smiled. Too exhausted to say a word, you smiled back.
He approached you, bent down to brush away your hair, and kissed you.
Surprised was a mild way to put it. Here you were, in the least attractive position possible, receiving a kiss from the man you weren’t sure you loved or hated. But the feeling of his lips was comforting, it was home, it was everything you needed to get through the night, no strings attached. It reawakened feelings you thought you killed. And the way he kissed--gently, with no sultry motivation, just to express his love--made you realize exactly what you were feeling.
I love you, you gasped when he pulled away.
The declaration shocked you, but he only smiled. I love you, too, came the hushed whisper as he leaned back in.
And for the rest of the night, there was only your son, your noisy pump machine, and him.
But, as with everything with him, it was too good to be true.
Just when everything had been going well, just when you felt your heart mend, he ripped it to shreds.
I think it’s best I leave, he had told you. You were nearly healed, and the baby wasn’t quite as fussy. He missed his family, he said. His real family.
Blindsided as you were, you felt it coming. The last two weeks had been too sweet to really be from his heart. You miss your family, you said, when your family was right in front of him?
He stood there and stared at the ground, coat already on and the collar already popped. You don’t miss your family, you spat. Tears burned behind your eyes, and your son felt heavy in your arms. You miss the old you.
I do love you, he said. I do. But we’re not a good match. I can’t be a good father--he deserves so much better than me.
You don’t want him to have a father who drinks and parties and doesn’t take responsibility for his actions? You said. You don’t want him to be like you when he grows up?
The venom was tattooed on your tongue as you felt the love wash away. It was wrong. He was wronging you and your child. That precious baby with his eyes, his hair, and his last name.
He just walked away, like he always did.
You took the ring off your finger and threw it at him, watching as it bounced off the wall near his head and down to the floor. Here, you said. Another ring for your stupid collection. You win your little game yet again.
You should have known. Loving him was a losing game.
