oil bars in the studio
rick stevens studio
oh yeah. oil bar skulls ive done so far. first 5 based off of all but 2 of the 7 deadly sins
Continued to experiment with using oil bars in life drawing, only this time with soft pastels instead of charcoal. Also sticking to picking three different colours for tones.
I like how easy it was to blend the colours together using the oil bars, I found that rubbing the pastels into the paper before using the oil bars made the blending smoother. I didn't like how patchy it ended up when I used a lot of the pastels.
Experimenting with oil bars in life drawing, I really love using the clear oil bar to blend the charcoal and move the media around while the white oil bar is great for adding a little highlight for where the light hits. However I still need to remember the background as I always leave it to last minute and it puts the drawing off.
