OITNB Preference: What They’re Like When They’re Jealous

Vause: Vause is more of an observer. Although she would love to just fight the person vying for your attention, she knows that it’s not the best option in the grand scheme of things. She would watch and simply, well, observe the situation. At the end of the day, Vause can get anything she wants and she only wants you. She may be a little jealous, but she knows you’re hers at the end of the day and that you’re wrapped around her little finger so she knows she doesn’t have that much of competition.

Chapman: Chapman, oh our lovely Chapman. She would be really sad, it would remind her of her best friend and her ex. She would be a puddle of depression. She wouldn’t do anything but stare and loathe. Even though you constantly remind her that you’re only hers, she’s human too and she has feelings. You might just have to go the extra mile to make it up for her.

Poussey: Poussey tries to never leave your side, even before she saw someone flirting with you in the yard. Poussey is head over heels in love with you, so be cautious because when she’s jealous she becomes quiet, brooding, and protective. She’ll straighten up and just try to make herself look bigger and tougher. She scowls at the person all day, every day. She knows you only have eyes for her but she knows how people are. So just be aware that she’ll try to be with you every single minute she can.

Watson: Watson will loudly flaunt her love for you, right in front of the person making her jealous. It’s pretty obvious when she’s jealous, but she doesn’t care. She’ll even walk right up and drag you away, much to your protest. You’ll be putting up a bit of a fight too, getting more and more annoyed that she won’t let up her grip. What can I say, what’s hers is hers and she’ll make it known.

Nicky: Much like Watson, except Nicky will practically just grab you and makeout and groping you while she keeps direct eye contact with the person she’s jealous of. Even though it’s obvious when she’s jealous, she’ll deny it until hell freezes over. She doesn’t like appearing like she’s “gone soft” or anything. But you know she was mega jealous.

Crazy Eyes: Crazy Eyes would pretty much just mope around when she sees someone else getting your attention for a little bit of time here and there. But when she feels like the person is taking too much of you away from her, she will NOT hesitate to threaten the person. Anywhere at any time. No one could be safe if she’s that determined.

Stella: Stella would just stare. Well not stare, glare at the person. She knows you love her, but she is human after all. She will just glare to high heavens at the person until they get the hint. You won’t even know that it’s happening. It’s subtle, but definitely effective.

What They’re Like When They’re Turned On (Orange Is The New Black Preference)

Aleida Diaz: Aleida gets a little whiny, and a bit handsy as well. Her patience get super short and eventually she’ll just pull you away from whatever you’re doing if you’re busy, until she’s been satisfied, then she’ll kiss you and let you go back to it.

Alex Vause: Alex is a huge flirt when she’s turned on. She’ll really crank up the charm until you can’t possibly resist her anymore. She knows the exact right things to say to get you in the mood too, so it’s a battle she always wins.

Carol Denning: Carol is demanding when she’s turned on. She doesn’t play around. She knows what she wants and she’ll be damn direct about it. That’s usually enough to get you all worked up as well.

Linda Ferguson: Linda becomes such a brat when she’s turned on. She wants you to know she wants you, but she also wants to make it hard for you to actually get her. Once you finally do get her in bed, you’ll realize that it was totally worth the chase.

Lorna Morello: Sex and romance go hand in hand for Lorna and when she’s turned on, she’ll also be in a super romantic sort of mood, wanting to whisk you away on a fancy date then take you home and get you into bed.

Natalie Figueroa: Fig, as with most feelings, will often try to suppress it when she gets turned on. Unless it’s an opportune time for her, she'll change the subject to literally anything else just to make the feeling go away. When you’re able to convince her to let go and give into it, it’s absolutely thrilling.

Nicky Nichols: Nicky is insatiable when she’s turned on. She positively won’t leave you alone until you let her take you somewhere for at least a quickie. And once you give in, Nicky will have a smirk on her face for the rest of the day.

Red Reznikov: Red handles all her emotions pretty well, and it’s hard to tell one from another with her, but when she is turned on, she’ll be a bit more quiet and a little less grumpy than usual. If you time it just right, she'll even admit to it and go sneak off with you somewhere.

How They Propose (Orange Is The New Black Preference)

Aleida Diaz: Aleida would suggest that you marry her, and present it as a hypothetical situation. She’d just tell you it was the next logical step in your relationship, and frankly, she’d be so nervous that you wouldn’t want to marry her that she’d talk herself out of the idea before she’d finished and you’d surprise her with a yes.

Alex Vause: Alex would want to make it a proposal to remember. She’d pamper you all day until you eventually got suspicious as to what she was up to. Later, she’d pull you aside so it was just the two of you, take your hands and tell you she wanted to marry her, then ask if you wanted the same. When you teared up with a yes, she’d break out into a smile.

Carol Denning: Carol wouldn’t even ask you to marry her. She’d already be of the mindset that you were hers. It wouldn’t dawn on her to officially propose to you. You would have already been her spouse from the moment she laid eyes on you. Should you ask her, however, she’d accept with a "Aren’t you already mine?"

Linda Ferguson: Linda would take you out somewhere really nice. Candlelit dinner, violin playing, the whole works. She’d want it to be as romantic and as swanky as possible. She’d pop the question by giving you a glass of champagne with the ring in it. And, while you may think it was a bit cliche, you’d be smiling ear to ear as you accepted.

Lorna Morello: Lorna wouldn’t so much as propose as endlessly nag you to marry her already. She’d get attached to you pretty quick and be absolutely head over heels for you and be planning your wedding within the first month of being together. You’d humor her every now and again, and one day, you’d accept for real.

Natalie Figueroa: Fig would be the kind of woman who just brought it up casually over coffee one morning. Like, "Hey, wanna get married?" It might leave you speechless for a moment, as the words actually sunk in, but you’d agree just as casually. "Yeah. When and where?"

Nicky Nichols: Nicky would propose right after sex. It’s like the idea just hit her that she doesn’t ever want this thing with you to end. You, still out of breath and flushed, would blink at her a couple times as she looked to you expectantly for an answer, and you’d burst into a smile and tell her yes.

Red Reznikov: Red probably wouldn’t bring up the topic of marriage at all, unless you did. When you said you’d want to marry her someday, she’d be quite surprised, having put aside the notion of finding love again. She wouldn’t say yes immediately, but the thought would leave her with a smile.

Dating Maritza Ramos/You (Orange is the New Black)

Cooking for her. This is never boring with her. She’s either watching at the counter in adoration or right there with you trying to help. Don’t be too mad if she adds salt instead of sugar! It’s an interesting take on the recipe.

Pizza when it’s her night to cook. Maritza knows she’s a safety hazard in the kitchen so she keeps it simple. The local pizzeria has your order memorized by now! Is it bad you’re on a first name basis with the employees?

Pizza being her ultimate comfort food so it’s one of your go tos when she’s feeling low. It’s rare for Maritza to get sad but when she does it’s hard to see. You cook up all the sweetest recipes you know with chocolate! This is when the both of you stuff your faces and watch Netflix together. She’ll lean against you but don’t you interrupt her movies! You’ll find her knocked out next to you within a couple hours and find yourself there hours later when she wakes up.

Trying new beauty techniques together with diy ideas from YouTube. This is always so much fun! She’s out and can get all the ingredients herself! When her bestie Flaca comes out, she’s always there. The three of you make an absolute mess of the kitchen throwing everything together! It leads to pretty epic food fights and is so relaxing! At one point, all of you lean against one another just chatting until the timer goes off.

“Are you sure the mask is supposed to be that color?”

“Ummm…”

“I told you not to eat all the oranges!”

“I was hungry!”

You watch so much trashy tv together. She’ll lay her head on your lap or shoulder talking nonstop about any and everything on the tv screen. Maritza’s commentary makes you laugh to the point of tears!

Meeting her daughter Juliana-Fernanda when the two of you become serious. If she’s at Litchfield, that means you driving her daughter up when you can. She appreciates the visits so much! Out of Litchfield, you visit Juliana with Maritza until she can get Juliana back! After years together, you’ll be her mommy too!

Sometimes you like to just sit back and watch her get dressed for work. She takes her time and loves your reactions to her dresses and makeup. Your girlfriend is so beautiful you can’t help yourself. Maritza always laughs when she catches you watching making a show out of it before running out the door.

Holidays are a big deal to Maritza especially the romantic ones. Valentine’s Day is a drawn out affair with candles, chocolates and bouquets of roses. It’s her first time celebrating with a woman so it was adorable how much she tried. You found Maritza that first year near tears on the ground with a smoking pot on the stove, broken glass on the ground and a cute teddy bear with chocolates in your seat at the table. It wasn’t perfect but the both of you cleaned up ordering her favorite pizza instead sharing the chocolates in the bath with frothy bubbles. It was your favorite Valentine’s Day!

The arguments always get to both of you no matter how rare you are. Sometimes you bicker over little things like her heels left in the hallways but it’s the big fights that mess you up. You can’t stand it when Maritza rolls her eyes like that sneering at you muttering in Spanish. You find yourself being petty and ignore her which only makes the ensuing argument worse. The both of you refuse to leave the apartment so eventually one of you breaks down and apologizes.

Sometimes you surprise each other at work. Maritza got a job as a car mechanic after getting her certification. The mechanics shop starting booming as soon as she was hired. You drop off lunches each other and sometimes just flirt with each other until it’s time to go back to work. Your colleagues absolutely adore Maritza and the other mechanics love teasing the both of you.

Dating Maritza isn’t always easy. She leaves her things out all the time and always burns what she’s cooking but she loves you. Maritza loves making you smile and picking up your favorite foods in town. She will fight for you whether it’s with her words or getting someone bigger to fight them too. Maritza is your favorite person in the world and you wouldn’t replace her cuddling or whining for anything in the world.
