Elves or Humans?

dude Humans.

I love us.

We're amazing.

Little screwed up, little flawed, but we're awesome

like, let's take you for an example, right now.

Look at how far you've come, how much you've done with your life. You didn't depend on superpowers for it. You didn't shove flaws to the side. You're working through it all, pushing forward. You aren't given millions of dollars at birth, you weren't brought up in a palace(most likely, however if you were PLEASE send pictures, I'm so jealous and i wish you the best).

You look at the world through an opportunistic gaze, you're unafraid of anything. Like, seriously, gallows humor only works because we're all constantly on the gallows. We laugh because if we don't will have a couple breakdowns.

We're amazing, spectacular, beautiful. Everything we are is something we've worked for, triumphed in, overcome. Everything we've built is barriers we've crossed, everything we've done that's good is a triumph.

Elves don't do that.

Everything that they've done that's good, they haven't made it a triumph, they've made it expected.

We don't expect good, automatically, so we put in work, skills, and time to make sure that things are good.

If we don't, admittedly, things go terrible. But it's because of the terrible things that our good is so impressive.

Elves have no room for error, no room for evil, no tolerance or even a place for those who don't belong. For instance, that's the whole plot of KOTLC. If you're different, or if you fail, in elven society, why are you even here? No one wants you.

If you fail, or you're different in human society, that is simply the human condition. We are all broken, we are all flawed, we are all different. And we don't run away and hide from it, kick our kids out of our houses(usually) for their failures.

Humans are so forgiving.

We have to be.

How else would we have gotten this far?
