Truffula fruits contain two seeds each, and they usually grow in groups of six: twelve possible trees for each one he chopped down. It takes a year and a half for a truffula tree to mature, but they start tufting even before that, so they could've harvested from even immature trees if they'd kept to the chopping-free method of collection. If he had tried harder, could he have had this? Could he have had more than this?
