Tries his best to see the metaphorical light side.

But it’s increasingly difficult.

Worries that he’ll become “obsolete”

Cooking is difficult, now.

You got into a shouting match the first time you wouldn’t let him use a knife.

But you both found a way for him to learn.

Everything is slow now.

Painstakingly slow to Ignis.

From walking, to cooking, to simple tasks.

He despises it.

Has always helped everyone else, so it takes time for him to come to terms with needing help, himself.

He thinks he’s useless, simply because he needs help.

It makes him extraordinarily bitter for some time.

You try to involve him: “Hey, how did you make this recipe?”

“You can read the book better than I…”

But he finds himself useful and foolish,

When you’re out on a hunt and lost in the darkness.

The four of you are separated, alone, and crying out for each other.

But the sheer black is suffocating.

Everyone is helpless without their sight…

Except him.

He is used to it and he can do this.

He saves everyone that day.

And is in tears at how foolish he has been all this time.

After that, it’s a matter of simply being one card short.

He is only missing one sense, after all.

And if anyone can figure this out, it’s him.

But you are his light...

He can always find you from the sound of your voice, to your smell, to the way you light up a room.

But he worries he can’t see the details, anymore.

You half joke that he won’t have to witness how you age or your bad hair days.

But that will utterly break his heart.

He never, never wants to forget what you look like.

He wants to know how you age,

So every kiss, every greeting, is accompanied by his fingers on your face.

Everything in bed is slower, done simply be feel.

But, in a way, it’s more enjoyable.

You are the one familiar thing to him.

He’s run his mouth over the curves of your body so much,

That it almost feels like he’s not missing his sight at all.

Between the two of you, there are no secrets that touch can’t reveal.

Ignis has always been focused on serving Noctis, but now he’s hyper focused.

He’s determined to help save humanity.

He’s practically running Lestallum.

Making sure that Noctis will still have a world to save.

Hope fills his everyday.

It’s truly intoxicating,

You can’t help but join in.

With you…

He’s planning out your future.

He is certain Noctis will return,

And at that point, your life truly will begin.

Or so he promises.

He wants children,

He wants to get married.

This is an Ignis, a plan, you never knew of before!

He wants Noctis to wake to the best world he can give him

And he wants the sun to rise with you by his side.

Okay. Okay. I had to get the image out of my system. Of course it looked way more elegant with a beautiful pair of hands but as I was unable to, have this little sketch of Iggy with the crown.

That (or at least a similar) picture came to me after reading this little ficlet from @triplehelix. It’s a continuation of her absolutely gorgeous Ignoct fic “let him be the king of ashes”. Read it if you haven’t yet, it’s really good.

I had some free time so I decided to draw Ignis, so here it is, a little sketch of the handsome adviser.

I still can’t make his pompadour look as nicely and smooth as in the game but I’m quiet happy with the results.
