Real talk: Am I the only one who kinda likes Koichi? I find him endearing and I like his dorkiness.
He really is a good parallel to Midoriya. I imagine Koichi is what Midoriya would have been if he was born with a Quirk. Like down to missing his entrance exam to a hero course high school to save someone. I think Midoriya would have also turned to Vigalantism because of his overwhelming sense of needing to help better society, even without a quirk.
But that's just my thought

This is how I kinda saw it too. They definitely still and always will have that connection from running together. They just need time to figure out their new dynamic. I think the Hakone Ekiden helped to open up a dialogue between the two and start that process. They obviously kept tabs on each other enough to know what each other's current state was. I think post-Ekiden they re-established a closer friendship.
Just my opinion.
I love how Haiji manipulated everyone mentally but with Prince it was just straight up "Join the team or hit the streets"
Just goes to show how much Haiji learned about them. Like literally every little detail about who they are as people. It's creepy and endearing at the same time. He knew how stubborn and difficult Prince could be and used that knowledge to his advantage.
Sorry Prince I love you but you can be a bit of a spoiled brat.

(or, How Nico-chan Senpai Got His Groove Back)
My favorite character is totally Haiji, but since so many other people have done a great job of explaining why heâs such a compelling character, letâs give Nico-chan Senpai some love. (I also think he and Haiji have a lot in common; read for more!)
Letâs face it: The world has a way of shutting people down if theyâre not, say, running with the goal of reaching the Olympics or writing with the goal of winning the Nobel Prize. And the world has a way of making people who arenât shooting for those goals feel like they shouldnât even bother.
Nico-Chan Senpai shows us that we donât have to be the best in something (and can even know that you will never be the best in something, and can even not want to be the best in something*) to love doing it. Nico-chan Senpai shows us that loving something is enough of a reason to do it.

Internet, how dare you not tell me how good Run With the Wind was? I am now on my second watch of the anime and I went out and bought the book and started to read it last night.
If anyone knows where I can find the completed Manga with English translation please hit me up. I was able to find the first 8 chapters but that was it.
Joteâs mom?
Itâs been months and I still canât seem to get this lady out of my headâ
Especially after the Ultimania revealed Joteâs mom was one of the Rosalith Courtâs ladies-in-waiting/courtiers. This woman looks so much like her? The mole under her left eye, the eyes shape (though, Joteâs are bigger), the lips, the cheeks and facial structure, the parted brown hair, sheâs a short queen too ljfkhygu.
Main diffs are the skin tone and the fact her eyes look blue-ish? Plus Joteâs features are overall more cat-like and âdaintyâ (that leaves us to wonder whoâs Joteâs dad⌠inb4 âand itâs a big crack theory butâ itâs Sir Wade đ his hairâs ashy brown too, and heâs got brown eyes and almost the same tone as Jote)
And like, those shots of Anabella and her are giving MILFs Joshua&Jote lmao (plus the duchess-archduke/servant dynamics), even the height gap is the same.
I am kinda here for this theory on Wade being her dad.
Why are there basically no fanfics about Gav? He was the best side character in the game.
If anyone on the internet knows of any good ones, send them my way. Or maybe I will have to write my own.
Also, side note: I am on my 4th playthrough of FFXVI, and I have so many thoughts that will flood my page later. I don't know why I waited so long to play this game.

I need this but Sephiroth doing some sick tricks.
So just an observation.
I have played OG FFVII several times over the last 20 years and have played Remake and am currently playing Rebirth. I have also played Crisis Core.
I have always thought the game was pretty clear that any "romantic" feelings Cloud had for Aerith was because of the mako poisoning jumbling up his brain with Zack's memories/stuff he told Cloud when they were together. And that any "romantic" feelings Aerith had for him was her connection with Zack and Cloud reminding her of him.
I mean Aerith wrote the guy for 4 years with no response. That is a lot of commitment and a hard love to just get over.
I also thought the game was pretty clear that Cloud had a thing for Tifa when they were kids, and Tifa was intrigued by Cloud. I mean, he remembered his promise when he came back to Nibelheim. I like the telling in Remake/Rebirth better, though. I think it highlights how much baggage the two have and need to work through personal and with their own relationship. But I thought it was pretty clear Tifa was the end game. Cloud finally gets the girl after all that time.
In Advent Children, I think Cloud is hung up on not being able to protect and save Aerith from her fate. Instead of doing what Tifa did, which was soldier on and live her life, Cloud is perpetually stuck in the past. I don't think it was because he was in love love with Aerith, but her death was a manifestation of him always thinking he was a failure. Of course the whole reunion thing was fucking up his mind too.
Anyways, that's my hot take on the shipping wars. I think if anything, we need to ship Aerith/Tifa harder, lol. Especially after Rebirth.
Edit: To be clear, I do think in the beginning Tifa latched on to Cloud as a remnant of her old life before everything went to shit. But I think she grew to love Cloud for who he is/realized Cloud was her person. Her hero. Cloud's feelings for Tifa I dont think ever went away, they just got complicated with his mindfuck from the Mako.
Day 4: Shortness of Breath (Ao3)
Iris watched the TV as the aides put the documents on the table.
âThis is taking forever,â Talcott muttered, letting his heels fall back against the couch with a thump.
âDonât kick the furniture, please,â Jared said, his eyes fixed to the screen.
Iris smiled at Talcott. âGovernment stuff always does.â
A boom brought Irisâ gaze to the picture window. Smoke and fire rolled from the center of the Citadel. The Wall shined bright then shattered.
Iris sat straight up and looked back at the TV. The room was absolute chaos â everyone on their feet, weapons everywhere. The feed went black.
âGo get your bags!â Jared ordered.
âWhat?â Iris stared at the black square inside the news stationâs overlay. Her brain couldnât make sense of what the reporters were saying.
âThe bag your father told you to pack â go get it now,â Jared explained as he hurried Talcott toward the Hesterâs rooms. The boy kept trying to look at the screen.
Her dad said they might go to Altissa with the King after the signing. Told her to pack now because there wouldnât be much notice.
She did, of course, but this wasnâtâ
Her chest felt tight but she rushed to her feet and ran upstairs. She tossed a couple last minute things into her bag â her photo album and a plush sheâd had since she was a baby. When she looked back up, she saw movement out her window.
Ships.
Imperial airships.
Moving toward the Citadel.
She couldnât breathe.
