hi ! I'd like to request ignis from ffxv with a male/gn reader having their first time, but reader is dom and very gentle and loving if that's okay..? it's okay if not, take your time ! thanks in advance ! (I don't know if I was supposed to add this but thylacine !)
Light from the outside world barely streamed through the curtains as Ignis sat on the edge of the bed. His usual composed demeanor gave way to something more vulnerable as he trembled. He had been going steady with Y/N for some time, but he hadn't anticipated this moment would arrive so quickly.
Ignis swallowed hard as he met Y/N's gaze, his eyes betraying a hint of hesitation beneath their steady surface. He could feel the gentle pressure of Y/N's hand as it cupped his cheek, and he leaned into their touch, relishing the warmth of their fingertips against his skin.
"Are you sure about this?" Y/N's soft voice peered through the fog of Ignis's clouded mind, the whisper easing tension that had remained unspoken.
There were a million ways this could go wrong, and for the first time in a long while, Ignis didn't care. For years, perfectionism had been his Achilles heel; tonight, he wouldn't let it get in the way of desire.
"I am," Ignis finally replied, admiring how Y/N smiled at the trust laced in his voice.
With a slight nod, Y/N leaned in and gently kissed Ignis's lips. His movements were careful, but there was no mistaking the affection in his touch. Y/N's hands slowly unbuttoned Ignis's shirt, casting it off to the floor as their fingertips traveled across his skin. Each trace was deliberate, as if they were mapping out every inch of him, committing the terrain of his body to memory. Y/N took their time exploring him, wanting Ignis to feel cherished and loved.
Ignis's hands found their way to Y/N's shoulders, gripping lightly to ground himself in the moment. His breath hitched as they kissed along his collarbone, and he felt their lips trail down his chest. Sparks flew down every nerve in his spine, and as his affection for Y/N blossomed further, Ignis could feel himself losing track of time. None of his obligations as the royal prince's retainer and his responsibilities to the kingdom paid any heed to his heart. What mattered most was being present with Y/N at this moment.
There was absolute trust in Ignis's eyes by the time Y/N finally eased his body back onto the bed. His gaze bore his soul, just as vulnerable as he was naked before them. He couldn't help but pull Y/N down for another kiss, letting out a soft moan at hearing them whisper words of reassurance and dedication. He felt shivers run down his arms, already melting before joining Y/N's body.
Words couldn't define what Ignis felt when they connected, nor could he put a singular feeling onto his emotions. All he knew was he was safe and could trust Y/N to guide him to the end.
Ignis's breath hitched as Y/N moved against him, their hands tracing patterns across his skin. He gasped softly, his fingers curling into the sheets. Whatever was left of his composure slipped away as he surrendered himself to the sensations that climbed the peaks of his body.
As Ignis lost himself, Y/N's heart swelled with affection--unable to stop smiling as they watched him let go, trusting them completely. Ignis was always precautious and didn't like giving up control. It made sense, given his station among the royal family and the responsibilities he bore, but it was a challenge to navigate in a committed relationship. The guttural moans that left his mouth, the way his toes flexed against the blankets, how he was left a whimpering mess, it was like seeing another person underneath the exterior that Ignis wore like a shield--and Y/N was beyond grateful getting to see this other version of him seep through the cracks and into freedom. He was so beautiful; it was hard not to come undone right then and there.
"Y..you're incredible," Y/N whispered, pressing their forehead against his. Ignis's eyes opened, his gaze locking with theirs.
"So are you…" He replied, his voice barely more than a breath as he reached up and pulled Y/N into a tender and desperate kiss as if trying to convey everything he felt in that one action.
The pace remained unhurried for quite a while as Y/N and Ignis moved against each other. Each wanting to stretch the moment on for as long as possible. Finally, climaxing together, the pair shuddered as they rode out the high of their coupling. Y/N's name left Ignis's lips many times before feeling their quivering arms pull him in for an exhausted but affectionate kiss, only to stop for air as they gasped.
Afterward, the room filled with only Y/N's breathing intermingled with Ignis's unsteady sighs. He laid his head against Y/N's chest, the warmth of their bodies pressed together.
"Thank you," Ignis murmured, his voice content. He smiled as Y/N kissed the top of his head.
"There's nothing to thank me for," Y/N whispered. "I'm glad you let me have you."
Ignis hummed in response, his eyes closing as he relaxed into Y/N's embrace. He wondered when his body would stop fluttering as his mind replayed what had transpired for the last few hours. He was both scared and exhilarated, unable to fully convey the extent of his experience. So he latched onto Y/N's words and held onto them like a light in a storm.
"As am I…" Ignis weakly replied, feeling himself fighting yet yearning for rest. He knew whatever lay ahead between himself and Y/N was the start of something even more beautiful than previously envisioned.

The city of Altissia was a beautiful place. People from around the world gathered to visit. It was quite literally the city of romance. So many weddings, engagements, and dates took place in the city to the point where that was almost the main attraction to the city.
Outside of love, many academics visited to study the city itself. The food was magnificent, the architecture was other-worldly, the history of the city attracted many scholars.
Circumstantially, you and the boys happened to end up in Altissia for Noctis’ supposed-to-be wedding. Even though you lot were there for business, Ignis always found the time to spoil you a little.
Dates were a rarity during this time, both you and Ignis were aware of that. You didn’t get to spend a lot of time together outside of the hotels and tents you stayed in. There was rarely any alone time. You never complained though, circumstances were hard and there wasn’t enough time to think how much that sucked in retrospect.
This was no secret to anyone, but Ignis was a planner. He managed to sneak away from the rest of the group for about an hour, going through the city and picking out every single thing the two of you were going to do on your first official date. He seemed to be quite knowledgeable about everything. He knew the best places to eat, the best places to shop, the best spots in town, he even knew where the best place was to view the sunset every night.
Within that single hour he had away, he managed to plan the entire night: he found complementing outfits for you both, reserved a wonderful meal for you two at Maagho, reserved a Gondola at the front of the city, along with two others for a guitarist and a violinist, and planned an entire map’s worth of strolls for the two of you under the evening stars. Ignis was a classic romantic, and he’d definitely prove it to you before the night would end.
After being distracted by the other boys for that hour, you returned to your hotel room with a beautiful outfit paired with a note that read: “Be ready in an hour.” You couldn’t fight off the smile that crept onto your lips, recognizing the handwriting that belonged to your boyfriend. After teasing Noctis about how you’re getting more than him and it’s supposed to be his wedding, you began to get ready. Your heart raced with eagerness as you sat in front of the mirror, using whatever you had to your disposal: blow dryers, hair straighteners, hair gel, hair spray. The look of excitement in your eyes was hard to miss, Prompto offered to take pictures so that you would remember this moment forever. You politely disagreed, though, knowing that you could never forget this day already.
After you were ready, you had about fifteen minutes to spare. As your excitement high began to wear off, anxiety began to fill your veins instead. What if you didn’t look good? What if you messed up? There were so many “what ifs” running through your mind, you began to fear that maybe backing out would be a better option. You couldn’t disappoint Ignis though... Surely he worked hard to pull all of this together.
Your hands were shaking and your leg was bouncing as you waited out the fifteen minutes, multiple and conflicting thoughts rolling through your mind as you considered all of the possibilities of how tonight was going to go. Noctis, Gladio and Prompto had all disappeared to go do their own things, so you were left waiting in the lobby as people came and went. Eventually, the front doors to the Leville opened again, revealing quite the dashing character.
As soon as your eyes fell on Ignis, your heart swelled. He looked incredibly handsome. He certainly didn’t look like he had been running around town for the past two hours getting ready for this fantastic night. A soft blush crept up your cheeks as you stood to greet him, your breath stolen away as you stared at him somewhat in awe.
You could tell he was somewhat pushing the boundaries with what he chose to wear. His usual neat and orderly attire was replaced with a black button-down shirt, the first three buttons undone. His skull necklace was polished and hanging somewhat further down. His pants were complemented by the newly polished dress shoes he wore, along with a simple belt. His coat was placed over his arm neatly, probably so that he could cool down after running around. His hair was styled somewhat differently too, it didn’t stick up like it normally did. Instead, it was relaxed a little bit, the height of it brought down until it looked like it was simply pushed back by his hand. Of course, there wasn’t a single strand of hair that was out of place though.
He was in the middle of rolling up his sleeves when you timidly approached him, a shy smile forming on your lips as you forced yourself to stop looking him up and down. “Hey.” You greeted sweetly, catching his attention.
The moment his eyes landed on you, the corners of his lips turned upwards. His eyes examined your appearance, a look of awe mixed with relief and admiration in his eyes. He reached out to take your hand, lifting it to his lips and pressing a kiss to your knuckles. “Good evening.” He returned, his voice smooth and low. It felt more intimate than how he usually spoke, causing butterflies to form in your stomach.
“What a surprise, Mister Scientia.” You hummed playfully, the air around you flirtatious. Ignis began to guide you out of the building, his fingers immediately intertwining with yours.
“A surprise?” He repeated, biting back the smirk that fought its way to his lips. “Surely you didn’t think we weren’t going to go on a date in the city of romance.” He teased, causing you to chuckle.
“I began to get worried when there was no mention of it.” You replied, instantly matching with his energy. He chuckled as well and began to stroll alongside you through the city. “So... That hour you had the boys spend with me, that was just a cover-up, wasn’t it?” You asked immediately, already getting to the bottom of his devious plan.
Ignis offered you an innocent smile. “You’re a clever one, aren’t you? I hoped they wouldn’t cause too much trouble for you.” He answered, his thumb running over your knuckles. “I suppose my plan had fallacies all along, I figured you wouldn’t just willingly spend an hour left in a hotel with them.” He chuckled. Even time he smiled, one of your heartstrings were pulled.
“It wasn’t so bad.” You reassured as the two of you came up to one of the gondola stations. “I’m sure you’ll redeem yourself tonight.” You joked, smiling as he helped you inside the gondola.
The ride to Maagho was silent, the two of you simply sat together and held hands, your head resting on his. You examined the passing scenery, humming along to the quiet sounds of the radio on the gondola. Neither of you were nervous. It all felt natural... Something that you both desired for ages and were able to finally bask in it. When the gondola slowed and waded against the water to the edge of the floating restaurant, Ignis was the first to leave. He turned and offered you his hand as you slowly stood.
The two of you were immediately guided to your table. Ignis had reserved the only table left in the slowly setting light, the glow of the sun’s rays kissing your skin as you sat down. Complemented by candle lights and Maagho’s finest dining wares, you found yourself to be impressed once again. Even if it was busy, Ignis and Weskham together were able to make it feel like you two were the only people in the restaurant.
Ignis could tell by the look on your face how impressed you were but decided to downplay it still. “It isn’t much, but I figured you would prefer familiarity over something new.” He explained, pouring you and himself a glass of wine.
You bit back a smile, knowing he was simply trying to stroke his own ego. Had it been anyone else, you would have told them off, but Ignis can at least play it off. “You did an amazing job.” You praised, watching as his smile grew wider. “Although, there’s one last thing that could have made this better-” You attempted to critique, before noticing one of the few waiters making their way over to your table. In his hands was the biggest bouquet of Altissian flowers, the vividness of the red and white flowers popping. You were left astonished as the bouquet was placed on the table in a beautiful marble vase.
“You were saying?” Ignis hummed, his voice holding a somewhat cocky tone. You bit back a giggle and ran your fingers over the petals, a quiet “wow” leaving your lips.
“Nothing. Don’t worry about it.” You stated, chuckling. “You did an amazing job... I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to have this chance.” You mused your gazes meeting. A shy smile formed on your lips as he reached over, grasping your hand gently. The feeling of his somewhat rough hands on yours made your heart race.
“I should be saying that about you, my dear.” He responded smoothly as his chin came to rest on the palm of his free hand. “If it weren’t for you and your unending love, I would have gone insane by now.” Ignis murmured, trailing kisses along your knuckles. The way his lips brushed against your knuckles as he spoke sent chills down your spine. The way he touched you was filled with love, he made it so obvious how his heart beat for you.
The rest of dinner was almost the same. As the sunset, Ignis cursed himself for not hiring a professional photographer to capture these moments... So he made sure to take in every moment. He wanted to remember your sun-kissed skin, the way your eyes were brought out by the sun. He never wanted to forget your smile and the way your nose scrunched or your eyes crinkled. His heart swelled at each giggle and every touch made his stomach flood with butterflies. The others were right, it was painfully obvious how badly in love he was with you, but that wasn’t a bad thing. Thankfully Weskham delivered on his promise for the finest meal he could prepare. Perfectly cooked fish and meat, paired with a decent amount of greens and fruits topped off with the perfect garnish was placed on your table, along with some specialty dessert items. Ignis could see the way your eyes widened, the hungry look in your eyes being replaced with surprise.
You couldn’t imagine the bill that Ignis had to pay for this. As each food item was placed down, you slowly became intimidated by the amount of food. It all looked so delicious... You shared a look with Ignis before smiling shyly and happily beginning to eat, starting off small with the side salad and fruit. Eventually, you both shared your meals, the both of you wanting to try everything at least once.
After dessert, a satisfied sigh left both of your lips. It was getting close to time for Ignis’ next phase of his plan. As he stood, he carefully helped clean up your table with the waiters before leaving a generous tip. His hand came down to hold yours gently as he guided you back to the gondola. This one was different than the last one that had dropped you off. It was bigger and had a lot more room, and overall seemed fancier. You raised a brow at Ignis, but he simply smirked and stepped onto the boat, helping you on. The cushioning was soft and comfortable, Ignis’ warmth shielded you from the slight wind coming off of the water. As the gondola took off, you couldn’t help but wonder where you two were off to now. You weren’t going back the way you came, instead, you two were traveling along the outskirts of the city. Eventually, you slowed near the front of Altissia, allowing you to see the glowing lights of the city reflect off of the water.
The sun was still setting, the sky was painted several shades of yellow, orange, pink, red, purple, and finally blue. One half of the sky showed the sun setting along the horizon while the other side had the moon growing and the stars twinkling. A quiet breath left your lips as you looked around, hardly noticing the accompanying musicians beginning to play. Ignis moved to sit in front of you, his smile wide as he watched your reaction. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” He questioned, not taking his eyes off of you.
You finally turned back towards him, your lips curved upwards as you slowly nodded. “It is.” You replied, reaching over to take his hands in yours. “Thank you... This was magnificent.”
Ignis smiled and gently tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear before carefully leaning over to press a feather-light kiss on your lips. “Don’t thank me yet. We’re not close to being done.” He whispered softly, watching as the sun disappeared under the horizon. Your face flushed from the kiss, causing you to hide your face in his shoulder. Ignis wasn’t one for display of affection, it was a rarity when he would kiss you unless it was in a tent or hotel. His arms came to wrap around you tightly, allowing you to melt under his touch.
As the stars began to twinkle above you, you slowly pulled away. “How did you manage to plan all of this in an hour?” You asked curiously, a quiet chuckle leaving his lips.
“Well...” He began, pulling off his coat and wrapping it around your shoulders. “There was a lot of rushing. I was afraid that I wouldn’t have been able to plan everything out how I wished, but this is all perfect.” Ignis explained, smiling down at you. Deep down, he knew it was perfect because of how happy you were. Otherwise, would all of this had been worth it?
You smiled and rested your head on his shoulder, your eyes examining the stars and galaxies above you. “I wish we could do this more.” You murmured. Ignis’ arm carefully wrapped around your waist as he brought you closer.
“I know... I wish we could too.” He murmured softly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “We will have more time in the future. Whether it’s tomorrow or two years from now.” He reassured, looking down at you.
You looked up at him and your gazes met. “I love you.” You whispered almost breathlessly. He smiled gently and pressed a kiss to your forehead this time.
“I love you too, darling.” He murmured, turning back to the stars.
This phase lasted for quite some time. The two of you sat in the gondola silently, appreciating and cherishing your time together. The soft hum from the instruments carried over the water as the boat rocked beneath you. When it came time to move onto the final phase, your heart tugged and begged you to stay here. It felt so right to be in his arms like this... You weren’t ready to move on. Moments like this were rare these days, feeling at peace and having the privilege to stay like this with Ignis made all of the troubles in your life go away.
When the gondola boarded the docks, Ignis was the first to stand. He carefully stepped out and reached out with his hand, allowing you to grip it as you stepped up. You continued to hold his hand as he silently guided you away from the docks, a somewhat disappointed feeling bubbling up in your chest. Tonight was amazing, you weren’t ready for it to end. It had gone by so quickly...
The final phase of Ignis’ plan was a walkthrough of Altissia, but he wasn’t sure if he really wanted to carry through with it. The thought of you two returning to the hotel just to face the same struggles again the next day made his heart ache. He knew how difficult it was for you, for both of you. As you both walked through the city, a quiet sigh escaped his lips.
“As the evening grows later, the more I dread tomorrow.” He murmured softly, causing you to turn towards him. A sad smile graced your lips as you gave his hand a gentle squeeze.
“I know... I also dread it.” You muttered, your arms wrapping around his arm. “Tonight was so amazing... I don’t want to go back.”
Ignis furrowed his brows as he continued to guide you through the empty streets, his shoes occasionally kicking through small puddles, ruining the reflection of the streetlights. “It’s our duty.” He reminded shallowly, knowing that he couldn’t outright refuse it. A conflicted expression formed on his features as he refused to say any more and instead pressed a kiss to your temple.
You knew what that meant. He was uncomfortable with the topic and wished to move on. A quiet sigh left your lips as the two of you continued on, possible conversation starters rolling through your mind. Your eyes landed on a sign quite a bit away, the large white letters advertising a vintage wedding store.
Altissia: The City of Love and Marriage.
“If you were to ever get married, would you marry here?” You asked curiously, looking up at him. You knew how interested he was in visiting Altissia once again, he seems to admire it.
His answer shocked you when he shook his head. “No... This place is wonderful, but it doesn’t fit my plan quite well.” He answered, looking down at you. “I figured it would be too... Hm... ‘flashy’ for your tastes.” Ignis added, a small smirk forming on his lips.
His last statement caught you off guard. Was that some kind of promise or hint? Your face adopted a deep shade of red as you tried to brush it off, looking back out at the water. “You’re right.” You responded somewhat stubbornly. “I prefer somewhere quiet. Maybe like Cape Caem.”
Ignis hummed softly. “I figured as much. I’m surprised you stayed in Insomnia as long as you did.” He replied. “I’m thankful, though. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have met.” He explained, furrowing his eyebrows.
“Hm? You think so?” You asked, raising a brow. “I’m sure we would have crossed paths eventually... You know, like soulmates would.” You hummed, attempting to get him back in a similar way. It seemed to have failed though.
“Soulmates, hm?” He repeated, seeming to consider it for a moment. “Then I suppose you’re right. We would have crossed paths.” He replied thoughtfully, offering you an innocent smile.
“Ah, why don’t you ever get flustered?” You complained, pouting up at him. Ignis simply laughed, not bothering to answer as you continued to complain and playfully scold him.
After that, your night quickly came to an end as your walk finished up in front of the Leville. As you stared up at the hotel, a pout formed on your lips. “Is this really the end?” You questioned, looking up at him. “No more surprises? Adventures? Nothing?”
“No, my love. This is where our evening finishes.” He murmured softly, his voice giving away the slight sadness he felt. “This won’t be the end of it, though. We’ll have our own journey eventually.” He whispered, his hands moving to cup your cheeks.
You smiled sadly and placed your hands above his. “Promise?” You whispered, feeling the gap between your faces begin to close.
“Promise.” He answered just before his lips met yours, his eyes falling shut. You melted under his touch and returned the kiss. It was smooth and gentle but passionate at the same time, both of your unwavering longingness fueling it. As he pulled away again, he noticed the slight dampness on your cheeks, causing him to brush his thumbs beneath your eyes. “It’s late. It’s about time we get some rest.” He murmured softly, taking your hand in his once more and guiding you inside. You didn’t get the chance to say anything else as you both entered inside.
Thankfully, the boys were asleep. You and Ignis changed into your nightwear and moved to take up the empty bed, his arms wrapping around your frame and holding you tightly against his chest. The dreadful feeling never lifted from your heart as you listened to his beat, your eyes falling shut. Eventually, his heartbeat lulled you off to sleep, allowing you to bask in his warmth and scent without feeling apprehensive about your futures.
I Understand, and I will be Here no Matter What Happens
Ignis sighed as his hand slid up into his hair for the fourth time that day. As his fingers slid through the strands, his lip curled slightly in disgust. The tawny strands were oily and dark with dirt built up over a few days. Ignis wished ever so dearly to wash his hair, but the fear of the pain that soap against his fresh scars kept him from doing so. Sighing again, he dropped his hand back into his lap.
"Damn it all..." Ignis muttered to himself.
"Damn what all?" a light voice called from the other side of the room.
Ignis's head tilted as he focused on the voice, instantly recognizing who it was. Tenshi, who they had picked up a few days before they had sailed for Altissia. She seemed knowledgeable in the healing arts, so all five of them together had agreed it would be logical to include her in their quest. Indeed she had proved useful many a time. Many a wound had been received, and yet she knew exactly how to tend to it.
She knew exactly what to do with it and never failed to have the correct healing item nearby. Or if an item was not enough, she wielded a power not unlike the Oracles. Yet she did not descend from their line, she assured them of that many a time.
"I'm afraid it seems I'm in quite a predicament, my dear." Ignis smiled ruefully.
Tenshi tilted her head as she navigated through the room, making sure her footsteps were heavy enough to allow Ignis to follow where she was.
"My dear. Hmm, you've only called me that twice before. Once when we were cooking together and I actually convinced Noct to eat vegetables. Then when you ended up hurt so badly, you almost passed out from the pain and you were utterly delirious. So if you're calling me that now, it must be quite the predicament." Tenshi smiled with a soft teasing tone, once she had reached his side.
Ignis knew she meant no harm with her words. The two of them were close friends after all, none the less he couldn't help but feel a small tinge of heat rise to the tips of his ears at her jest.
"Yes...well, be that as it may, I am truly in a pickle here, Tenshi..." Ignis began.
"Oh, so now you're in a pickle, Ignis? Dear me, it seems you really are having a time, aren't you?" Tenshi's gentle laugh chimed next to him as she perched on the arm of the chair Ignis sat in.
Her hand reached out slowly and alighted upon his upper arm gently so she wouldn't scare him, then her fingers slowly trailed up till they rested on his shoulder, sliding gently back and forth over the silky material of his shirt.
"Ignis, you have no need to beat around the bush with me. What's wrong? You can tell me anything, it doesn't matter what it is, I will listen and help in any way that I can?" she whispered to him, teasing tone gone, voice now serious but gentle.
A shuddering breath entered Ignis's chest then left it. Lifting a shaking hand to the one on his shoulder, he took Tenshi's in his and curled his fingers around hers in a semi-tight grip.
In a small, almost ashamed voice, he muttered, "I've been afraid to wash my hair for fear of getting the shampoo on my scars. The pain that it would cause in addition to what's already...I-I don't..."
Ignis heard a small hum and Tenshi pulled her hand from his, moving away from him. For a moment he feared he would hear laughter then Tenshi's footsteps walking out the door. But then warm hands laid themselves over Ignis's knees.
"Is that all that's bothering you, Iggy?" Tenshi's voice was sweet and gentle with worry.
Swallowing hard, Ignis nodded his head. One hand left Ignis's knee and gentle fingertips brushed the underside of his jaw. He drew back on instinct, a gasp pulling itself from his lips. The touch didn't follow and Ignis released the air he had pulled in slowly.
"I'm sorry, I should have asked if I could touch. That was out of line of..." Tenshi began.
"No!" Ignis cut in harshly, but stopped and in a softer voice he continued, "No it's alright, I...I just didn't expect you to."
Ignis's hand slowly moved up to adjust his glasses, but he hissed in slight pain as he moved the new ones that he wore.
"Hey, careful! I don't want to see anymore marks on that beautiful face of yours now." Tenshi scolded lightly, pulling Ignis's hand away from his face.
"In your opinion..." Ignis began.
"Oh hush you! I'm going to get the shower started so we can get your hair washed and back to is lovely self. You get yourself ready to get in. I'll be right back." Tenshi cooed gently to Ignis, patting his knees softly then rising to her feet.
Beginning to walk across the room towards the bathroom, she was stopped by Ignis calling out to her.
"What do you mean we?" his voice had cracked at the end, and a embarrassing flush had appeared across his cheeks.
Tenshi stopped and turned around.
"I mean you and me of course, silly. You think I would be so cruel as to leave you to suffer? Oh Astrals above Ignis, come on!" she shot back, laughter coating each word.
"Tenshi that is highly inappropriate! We are neither seeing each other, nor are we..." Ignis began, standing from his chair.
In the next instant, Ignis felt hands settle on the sides of his face gently holding him still.
"Ignis...you know you can trust me. I have never steered you wrong. Nor have I hurt any of you. I have seen all of you at your most vulnerable. All of you bared down to only one piece of clothing on your body, due to decency that you all demand.
But I have dealt with situations like this. I am trained as a nurse, and you know this Ignis. I could do this entirely blindfolded if you wished me to. But it would be an honor if you let me see you as you are. You know you can trust me, but one word from you and I don't even have to look the entire time, I swear." whispered words softly brushed just in front of his lips, stunning Ignis into stillness.
How had Tenshi moved to quickly from once side of the room back to him? How was her touch so soft and gentle, yet it felt like he couldn't get away even if he fought with all his strength. Slowly one hand moved from the side of his face and slipped the glasses that hid Ignis's eyes off his face. Pale ice-blue darted side to side behind the milky film covering his open eye, unseeing, unknowing of what was there gazing at it.
"Tenshi...I..." Ignis began, voice so hesitant and unlike himself.
"Please trust me...if you want, we could even make a game out of it. I am but a humble servant of a young lord in need of my service. Romantic relations between us are forbidden, but friendship is allowed. Would that put you more at ease, Ignis?" Tenshi questioned gently.
At this question, Ignis's jaw literally dropped. A small, snorted giggle escaped Tenshi.
"A game it is then! My Lord Scientia, I am but your humble servant. Please allow me the honor of helping you?" Tenshi laughed playfully.
"I never said that we..." Ignis began indignantly.
"Oh come now, my Lord, no need to be shy!" Tenshi continued, beginning to walk backwards, pulling Ignis with her.
Surprisingly, Ignis found himself following along willingly, despite the fact in the beginning he wasn't going to. Tenshi released one of Ignis's hands and opened the door to the bathroom, turning on the light as well as they entered. Pulling Ignis inside, she kicked the door shut with her foot then slowly lead him over to a bench that was right outside the large shower stall.
"Here we are my Lord. Please have a seat on the bench while I ready the water. It shall only take a moment." Tenshi giggled, her hands releasing Ignis's only once he was seated on the bench properly and she knew he wouldn't fall off it.
"Please, you don't have to do that Tenshi. While it is quite amusing, there is truly no need for it." Ignis's smile was genuine as he tilted his head in Tenshi's direction.
"Are you sure, Ignis?" Tenshi asked, turning her head as she was adjusting the temperature of the water.
"I am quite sure, my dear." he replied.
"There you go calling me my dear again, Ignis." Tenshi teased, turning away from the shower and walking back to him, "Are you sure your not sick? That's four times you've called me that now."
Surprise flew across Ignis's face. He hadn't even realized the words had slipped out of his mouth. They just seemed so natural to use with Tenshi. As if he were supposed to call her that.
"I suppose I have. What's strange is it feels...natural to do so. Any thoughts as to why?" Ignis avoided Tenshi's question by asking one of his own, and Tenshi knew that she had flustered him by asking him that question.
"Not a single clue, Ignis. Now give me a moment and I'll be ready to help you get your clothes off if you need it, and we'll get you in the shower to get your hair washed." Tenshi chirped.
Ignis heard clothes rustling and his throat tightened.
"Wait, are you getting..." he began.
"Not everything Ignis. Just shirt and shorts, I'd kinda be hindered while helping you if I was fully clothed. Besides, it's not like you can see anything, and you're a gentleman are you not. I trust you not to touch just as you trust me not to." Tenshi interrupted gently.
Soft hands took Ignis's and guided his hands up to the buttons of his shirt.
"Would you like me to help you, or would you prefer to do this yourself?" Tenshi whispered.
Ignis swallowed hard. Memories of the pain of the fire burning across his body and the scars it must have left in its wake crossed his mind. He dipped his head, unable to look in Tenshi's direction anymore.
"I-I ask you not to judge what you see under these clothes. Even if I were to do this myself, you would still see what happened to me." Ignis's voice was strained as it came from his lips.
Gentle fingertips guided his face back up and then gently grazed over his forehead, down over his cheek, his lips, then cupped themselves under the side of his face.
"Ignis, I understand, and I will always be here no matter what happens...or what you look like." gentle words caressed Ignis's shattered body and started the process of rebuilding him.
Slowly a tear trickled out of his milky eye, and Ignis tilted his head into Tenshi's hand.
"I thank you for that...for this. I trust you to help me and to know what to do, Tenshi." words that seemed so hard to say, yet were so simple in their phrasing touching Tenshi's skin and she smiled.
"And I thank you, Ignis." she replied.
Slowly and together, slim and lithe fingers undid the buttons that held Ignis's shirt closed and the fabric slid from his shoulders and pooled down onto the bench behind him. Slowly together, those same two sets of hands fell down Ignis's chest, feathering over the muscles that had been scared by the flames of the ancient kings. One set hesitant and afraid, the other confident and sure. Together, they reached his belt and pulled the leather through the buckle, slowly sliding the the rest of the belt out of the loops holding it to his pants. Laying that on the bench under Ignis, together they slid the silver button out of the mooring, then proceeded to slide the zipper down as well.
Ignis stood and they both allowed his pants to drop to the floor, which Ignis followed with the boxer-briefs he had chosen to wear that day.
Tenshi kneeled down and slid her hand just behind Ignis's ankle and said, "Lift..." while taking one of Ignis's hands in hers and putting it on her shoulder.
Once he lifted his foot while putting his weight on her, she slid that half of his clothing out from under him and did the same when he lifted his other foot. Taking the clothing into her hands, Tenshi straightened it out a little and laid it on the bench where Ignis had been sitting.
"Alright, now come, let's get you in the shower, 'fore you catch cold." she smiled gently.
Reaching out, Tenshi gently took Ignis's hands in her own and guided him with her over to the shower. Opening the door, she slid inside and ducked into the water slightly to allow Ignis the room to enter. The shower stall itself was of fair size, enough to allow two people inside comfortably and had a bench inside to sit on. This is where Tenshi allowed Ignis to settle onto.
"Are you ready?" she asked, loud enough to be heard over the water.
Ignis nodded, "Yes, I believe so."
"You do know you need to let go of my hands. I can't do anything if you don't let go you know." Tenshi giggled.
Ignis instantly released her hands from his and dropped his down to grip the bench he was sitting on.
"M-my apologies." he managed to stammer.
A small giggle escaped Tenshi and she reached down for his hands once more. Taking them between her own, she brought them to her lips and kissed both of them, then lowered them to rest on her hips.
"If it's easier, you can put your hands here. I never said you couldn't touch me. It's alright to be afraid, Ignis. There's nothing wrong with it. Nothing wrong with needing reassurance or comfort.
I told you, I'm here for you and I always will be no matter what happens. It's okay, I promise." Tenshi gently patted his hands as she reassured Ignis that he was okay and she wouldn't let anything hurt him if she could help it.
Ignis swallowed hard. Tenshi's skin was smooth and soft under his calloused fingers, and he could feel just where her clothing still was. Nodding his head, he tilted his head back a little.
"Mm 'kay. You know, you're cute when you act like this." there was a light chuckle in Tenshi's voice as she twisted slightly.
Ignis felt her brush his bangs back, then wonderfully hot water poured itself through his hair, not a single bit of it managing to get near his face.
"Astrals, that feels good." Ignis muttered.
Another small flood of it poured through his hair, fully wetting all of it, then Ignis heard the click of a cap opening. A soft floral and berry scent wafted through the steam that was already filling the stall the two of them were in and Ignis couldn't help but wonder what it was.
"What is that tantalizing aroma?" he inquired.
"Hm, oh the shampoo here? Ah, something I picked up before everything went down. A blackberry and Iris mixture. I use it for myself, but I thought it would be a nice treat for you, considering that you've not gotten a chance to indulge." Tenshi smiled, before slowly smoothing some of the shampoo mixture into the sides of Ignis's hair.
She then slowly worked her way to the top, smoothing her hands backwards.
"You don't have to do that for me. You could have just used min-" Ignis started.
"Oh hush. I'm the one washing your hair, so what I say goes. I'll use whatever shampoo I choose, be it yours or mine." Tenshi cut him off.
Although it wouldn't have mattered. A few seconds later a soft moan had passed through Ignis's lips. Tenshi's fingers had started to massage the shampoo into a rich lather and his head tilted even farther back in bliss, his milky eye closing fully. Tenshi hummed in satisfaction. She hadn't seen Ignis this content since before the Covenant.
This was beautiful to her. This was worth it. If she could have this more often, she would trade all the abilities she had. Just to see this kind of happiness, after everything that had been taken away. Another soft moan along with a surprise muttered curse passed out of Ignis's mouth and Tenshi just giggled.
"You know, you do that any louder, and people might just get the wrong idea, Ignis." she teased.
"Must you?" Ignis groaned, "This feels most lovely, down right sinful even with the way your fingers are massaging my head right now. Must you ruin it with suggestions like that?"
"Oh fine, be that way! I was just warning you. You know how Gladio can be. He would do it just to get under both our skins. Bad part is, you know I would try and deck him for it.
My temper control isn't the best." Tenshi chided.
"I'll need to help you with that then. Six above, how did you get so good at this?" muttered words turned into another soft curse as Tenshi continued to massage the shampoo through Ignis's hair.
"Family secret! Now head back a little further, time to wash the shampoo out." warmth flooded Tenshi's voice at the point of the shower Ignis had feared.
Tenshi felt the grip on her hips tighten just slightly and she smiled to herself. She would make sure Ignis was fine. Holding her hands behind her so she could rinse them of the suds, she made sure they were fully clean before shielding one hand over Ignis's face just a little below his hairline. Slowly trickling water down his hair, she made sure none of it made it past her hand, and soon enough all of the the shampoo was rinsed from Ignis's hair.
"There, shampoo all rinsed out. On to the conditioner we go! Can't have your hair looking all dull and everything now can we." she smiled, starting to turn away to reach for the conditioner, but found herself pulled forward back towards Ignis.
Tenshi found herself standing with her knees pressed to the bench that Ignis was sitting on, his forehead lightly pressed against her stomach, his hands still on her hips. A slight gasp escaped her lips as she stared down at Ignis, silent and surprised beyond anything. All was silent accept for the shower water still running and Tenshi's heart pounding in her ears.
"Thank you, Tenshi." she finally heard Ignis whisper.
How she heard him was a miracle only the Six could tell. Tenshi's hands rose slowly, trembling the entire time. One to the back of his neck to hold him against her a little more firmly, to let him know his touch was welcome. And the other to the top of his head, in more of a reassuring motion, to let him know that he would be okay. Trust was such a powerful thing, and when given to someone so openly, it was such an mind-shattering thing to experience.
Especially trust so open, honest, and complete as what Ignis was giving Tenshi now.
"Hey come on, let's get you finished up, hm. Then we can get into some comfortable clothes and lounge for the rest of the day. Hey, and maybe I can dupe Prom into going down and getting my bag for me. I have some killer food in there that I bet you could get some great ideas out of, eh! Whaddaya say?" Tenshi prodded lightly.
"Intriguing idea. I do enjoy the food you seem to come up with out of no where. I've never quite tasted anything like it, and I do often come up with new ideas from them. Capital idea indeed." Ignis replied, pulling away slowly.
Tenshi reached back and pulled up her conditioner, clicking the cap open and squeezing out some into her hand. Smoothing it into Ignis's hair gently, she slowly worked that into his hair and then picked her conditioner back up. Squeezing out more of the product, she closed the cap and then smoothed it into her own hair.
"Is something wrong, Tenshi?" Ignis inquired.
"My hair becomes a mess if I don't condition it when it gets wet, but it's no bother. This was entirely worth it, don't you worry. I'll rinse your hair then I'll rinse mine and we'll both be out of here. We can dry off and as I said, dupe Prom into getting my bag. Give me just a sec." Tenshi leaned Ignis's head back with her hands after she finished smoothing the conditioner into her hair and washing it off her hands.
Gently covering Ignis's face again, Tenshi cascaded water through his hair to get the conditioner out, then did the same to her own. Turning the water off, she smoothed the excess water out of Ignis's hair and wrung a fair amount out of hers. Opening the shower door, she helped Ignis to his feet and reached out and pulled a towel in so he could wrap it around his waist and slowly guided him out of the shower stall. Closing the door behind the two of them, Tenshi reached out and claimed a second towel for herself. She then grabbed two others.
One to dry off her hair and another to dry Ignis's.
"Come, into the other room so we can change and I can dry our hair. We don't want to catch cold sitting around like this now do we?" she said softly.
Taking Ignis's hand, Tenshi slowly led him out of the bathroom and into the main room, allowing him to alight on the same chair he had been sitting on before.
"Any particular clothing you wish to wear, or should I just randomly reach in and pull the first thing my hand comes in contact with?" Tenshi questioned, walking over to a bag that perched on a vanity a few feet from the chair.
"I have a loose pair of long, black sleep pants that would be wonderful. As for my shirt, I believe I will for go that for now in interest of comfort. I'd rather not have the image of you rifling through my underclothes lodged in my mind, so the first thing you come across will be fine." Ignis replied, holding out his hand after rubbing the towel Tenshi had grabbled over his hair, though his tone was gentle.
"Long black sleep pants, no shirt, and a random set of underclothes. Coming right up!" Tenshi chuckled, slightly rifling around in the bag.
Finding the pants, then locating Ignis's underclothes, Tenshi simply ghosted a hand over them and pulled a set out. Closing the bag, she walked back over to Ignis and guided his hand to the articles of clothing in hers.
"I'm sure you'll want to take it from here, am I correct?" she asked.
"Yes, but if you'll remain nearby in case I do need your assistance?" Ignis replied.
"Of course! I'll wait until you're changed to get my clothes and bring them back here, then change myself." Tenshi nodded.
Ignis smiled at her, and despite having helped Ignis wash his hair, Tenshi turned away to give Ignis a sense of modesty while getting dressed. Once she heard the sound of clothing rustling stop, she turned back around and Ignis had indeed managed to get his clothes on by himself.
"Good, I'll be back in just a second with my clothes so I can change, and get dried off the rest of the way. I'm sure you're just as famished I am." Tenshi turned to walk out of the room but Ignis stopped her, raising his voice before she could get too far.
"Tenshi, take one of my shirts and wear it over yourself. I would be remiss as a gentleman to allow you to even leave this room dressed as you are, even with a towel wrapped around your body." he asked.
Tenshi turned and looked back at him, confusion written across her face.
"Ignis, I'm only going two doors down. It's not like anyone is going to see me or anything, or like they’re going to try and take me somewhere." she replied.
"Please, Tenshi? It would put my mind at ease if you did. The Crownsguard button-up that I usually wear, the purple one, that will suffice. Please, if you would. It's over in the closet over there." Ignis asked again, pointing in the direction he thought the closet was in.
Tenshi sighed. She was just going down two doors and there wasn't too many people in the hotel at the moment considering that Noctis was residing in the walls of the hotel. But the tone Ignis had used when he had asked her to wear his shirt...he truly was worried that someone would see her and that was something he didn't want.
"Alright Ignis, you win. I'll wear it. But just so you know, I'm still kinda wet from the shower so I'm gonna end up getting the shirt wet. Are you sure that's okay?" she replied, walking over to the closet, opening it and pulling the shirt out before unbuttoning it.
"I'm sure I can work something out with it. I've gotten it wet many times before. I'm quite sure it can stand getting wet one more time." Ignis assured.
Tenshi dropped the towel from around her body onto the floor and tossed the shirt around her shoulders and slipped her arms through the sleeves. Allowing the shirt to settle fully around herself, she buttoned it up. She left the very top button undone and looked down at herself. The bottom of the shirt made its way down just to her mid thigh and covered just enough to be modest. Tenshi had to admit, this was a lot better than the towel she had wrapped around her waist, which had only gone down to her upper thigh and was allowing a little bit too much too be shown in her opinion.
"Actually Ignis, thank you for letting me borrow this. This covers up a lot more than that towel did. Do you...do you mind if I continue to wear this after I change out of my wet clothes? I actually like this..." Tenshi questioned.
Ignis was silent for a moment, but then a small smile broke out onto his face.
"I would be honored if you did, Tenshi." he replied.
"Thank you, Ignis! I'll be right back after I change what's under this since I don't have to bring other clothes!" Tenshi smiled, dashing out of the room and down the hall into her room.
Not five minutes later she was back in Ignis's room with her phone. Walking over to Ignis, she tapped on the screen to her phone, dialing Prompto's number. It rang a few times but no one picked up.
"Ugh, I forgot he still must be watching Noct right now. What time is it?" Tenshi muttered, pulling the phone away to look at the clock on it.
It read 8:55.
"Yeah, he's still watching Noct. Let me text him to call me when he's done." she continued, starting to tap quickly at the surface of her phone, while almost absentmindedly perching on the arm of the chair Ignis was in.
Not three minutes after the text was sent, a personal ringtone started to play.
'Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me! '
Tenshi quickly tapped the accept button on her phone and lifted it to her ear.
"Hey choco-muffin!" she greeted in a sweet voice.
Ignis could hear the whine that answered her and he smiled.
"Ten! I told you not to call me that!" Prompto fake pouted across the phone.
"But you are my choco-muffin! Your hair looks like a chocobo and you're so sweet you're like a muffin. So you're my choco-muffin!" Tenshi teased him back.
Prompto groaned loudly over the line, but didn't protest his case anymore.
"Is there something you needed?" he questioned, laughter in his voice this time.
"Yeah, my bag with all my yummy stuff is in Noct's room. If you're still there do you mind getting it for me and bringing it down to Iggy's room. I'm over here and Iggy and I wanted a few snacks. I'll let you have a few if you'll be a gem and bring it down here." she bargained with him.
"A few of your snacks just for bringing your bag to his room? Deal, cutie! You have yourself a deal! Be there in less than five!" Prompto all but kwehed like the chocobo he looked to be.
Tenshi hung up her cell and giggled.
"I swear all of you are hooked on my snacks. What are you guys going to do when I run out?" she questioned, shaking her head.
Ignis shook his head as well.
"Be mortified and go hungry?" he offered.
Tenshi tilted her head to the side.
"Perhaps..." she stated thoughtfully.
Tossing the towel over her head that she had taken from the bathroom earlier, Tenshi softly began to wring out the remaining water still in her hair. Rubbing it would tangle the longer strands, and considering her brush was lost in the commotion, that wouldn't be good.
"Ignis, were you ever taught how to braid hair?" she questioned gently, pulling the towel away from her eyes, while still continuing to dry it.
"Yes, actually I was. Though without my sight, I doubt that my abilities will be be any use to you. Any braiding that I do would be messy, uncoordinated, and unattractive to say the least." he replied.
Tenshi scoffed.
"You should have seen it when I try to do it. The only time I usually try and braid it is at night. Though most of the time I fail and just leave it to tangle during the night and fight to brush it out in the morning. Unfortunately, during the Covenant, a lot of my things got thrown into the sea, my brush being one of them. So, no more brushing my hair out till I get another one.
The only other alternative I have is braiding my hair at night. Since I'm not very good at it, I was going to ask Gladio, but I have no idea where he is. Noct is out cold, but I doubt he knows in the first place. Prom might know, but no offence to him, I'm not letting him touch my hair. And like I said, I can't do it very well due to how long it is.
If you don't mind, it would be great if you would help me, but you really don't have to if you don't want to..." Tenshi's voice started to fade off.
Ignis's hand reached for hers and found it a few seconds later. He gently tugged to get Tenshi's attention and to stop her rambling.
"If it really means that much for me to help, I would love to. I'm afraid you'll have to guide me a little though to start off, after all starting is half the battle right." he murmured.
Surprise lit Tenshi's face. She had expected him to tell her no, but his agreement made her genuinely happy.
"Sure!" she smiled, "Let me get something I can sit on."
Pulling her hand from his, Tenshi rushed over to the vanity that was a a few feet away and pulled the small bench over in front of the chair just in front of Ignis's feet. Dropping down on it, she smoothed her hair back over the edge of the bench. Ignis leaned forward and reached out slowly, finding the bench and following the contours of it in to find his shirt, and underneath the the form of Tenshi's body. Following her form up, Ignis's hands reached the back of her neck, through which he then found the soft, slightly damp strands of her hair. Gently running his hands through the long strands, feeling the length, it seemed longer now that he didn't have his sight.
"Is there any special way you're wanting it braided?" he questioned.
Tenshi shook her head, her hands reaching back to join his once they rose back to the nape of her neck again.
"I just want to make sure it doesn't tangle over night, so a regular loose braid down my back will do. Simple and easy." she replied, her hands helping his to separate the long strands into three separate sections.
Slowly, they started the braid together and once started, Tenshi allowed Ignis to continued the braid all the way down her back and a little ways beyond.
"How is it possible that you can keep your hair such a length and such good a condition, and still be such a remarkable hunter? I would have thought by now that one of the Daemons would have taken these lovely strands from you." Ignis questioned, coming to the end of the braid.
Tenshi reached over her shoulder and Ignis handed the end of the braid to her and she tied it off with a tie that she had around her wrist.
"Oh trust me, Ignis. That's happened many a time. Each time the Daemon paid a dear price for it too. That's mostly why if I do go on the battle field and I'm not healing someone, I prefer long range fighting. I may have daggers like you do, but I imbue them with fire before I throw them.
Once thrown, I recall them to my hands and by then the fire has gone out." Tenshi laughed, smiling at the white-silver strands that made up her braid.
There was a soft knock at the door of the room and Tenshi looked over to it.
"That would be Prom, I'll be right back."
Standing, Tenshi walked over to the door and opened it, greeting Prompto when she saw him on the other side. Prompto's eyes widened when he saw what she was wearing. Or rather, what she wasn't wearing, and he began to stammer something about needing to go check on Noctis again, but Tenshi stopped him. Opening her bag, she offered him a few things allowing him his pick. After taking a few things, Prompto thanked Tenshi then sped off down the hall, embarrassed that he had seen Tenshi in what he had believed was only Ignis's shirt and nothing else.
Tenshi closed the door while shaking her head and walked back inside the room.
"I think I might have scarred Prom for life." she giggled.
"Astrals above, what did you do to the poor boy?" Ignis asked, a soft smile on his face.
"I did nothing! All I did was open the door. He made his own assumptions upon seeing that I was wearing your shirt and seemingly nothing underneath it." Tenshi replied.
Ignis shook his head. Prompto really was too innocent for his own good. Walking back over to the bench she had been sitting on previously, Tenshi lowered herself onto it facing Ignis and opened her bag once more and started rifling around inside it, trying to figure out what would make for a nice snack between the two of them for the evening. Pulling out a few boxes she came across one of her favorites. Almond Pocky.
Tenshi only had a few boxes left and to hell with playing the game. This was something to savor and enjoy, not to play a childish high school game with. Hopefully Ignis would like this as well as she did...
I have some particularly surreal and not so pleasant dreams (where I fade in and out of sleep) and during that I can vocalize by grunting, toss and turn, and flail around for a few and usually before I wake up so can I have hcs of ignis, ravus, and ardyn and they would handle it? Oddly specific but I know I am not alone in this I just how often it occurs
If you like what you read, please consider supporting me on Patreon or buying me a Ko-fi!
I’m not sure why, but I feel that each of them would be similar in this situation. They’d each stroke your hair and try to calm you, having woken up next to you. They’d be groggy but jump into action at seeing you having such bad dreams.
Ignis may try to hum to sooth you.
Ravus may try the hardest to wake you from your dreams.
Ardyn would simply pull you into his arms while you were still sleeping, as he is the most familiar with having horrendous dreams.
Imagine just being wrapped up in each man’s arms, their concerned eyes focused on you. Each would be relieved when you finally woke up. Each would let you talk about the dream, if you wanted, but none would push too hard.
Ignis would try his hardest to find a way so that you don’t have to experience those dreams again.
Ravus would vow to be with you through all of them.
And Ardyn would simply hold you, knowing that they will come back eventually.
To some, what you go through would simply be a bad dream and a lack of sleep, but these three men would understand that dreams reflect our mental state and would take this far more seriously than most.
They would hold you, their forehead pressed to yours, until you finally fell back asleep. Then, each would vow to watch over you and give you the best life they could.
So here we go, part one! So in this AU Alphas/Betas/Omegas are determined by the amount of ‘presence’ they express which influences others. Alphas obviously have the most, Betas second, and Omegas have little to none.
The nation of Lucis is primarily made of wolf shifters, Niflheim humans. For now there is an uneasy peace between the two.
Every muscle in your body twitched as you were driven to the Scientia mansion. Today was the day, you were going to be bonded …These were the last moments of freedom. As the streets passed by you thought about what life would hold after today. Would he be a kind mate or would he be like the nightmares that you had heard about? Your knee started to bounce as your mind kept going over and over how this could go.
“Are you scared, dear?”
Your mother’s voice cut through your thoughts and brought you back reality. With a shake of your head you forced a smile. “No, I think I’m more anxious than anything else.” You knew there was no confidence in your voice and she reached out to pull you in closer, letting you rest against her.
Her fingers gently stroked your temple in a soothing motion. “Everything will be okay.” She cooed softly, “I know you will be just fine.”
If only you could only believe that.
As the limo pulled up to the mansion you felt your mouth go dry and the cold grip of reality firmly grasp you. There was no turning back, no running away. Taking a deep breath you held your head high and stepped out as the door was opened. You were not going to let them see you cower like a beaten dog. Runt or not, you were a wolf and they would see that.
First things first. The veiling.
Legend held that the Great wolf Ardyn had been tricked into marrying his brother’s beloved because the bride had been veiled before the ceremony, hiding her identity until it was too late. He had been cast out of the kingdom for his transgression and cursed to roam over Eos forever lost.
At least that was the story they told to explain the custom of the groom seeing his mate for the first time and veiling them himself. Can’t marry the wrong person if you’re the one to do the veiling.
So there you sat after being shown into a small room off to the side, the plush cushion under you threatening to swallow you whole and your parents stood on either side. You could hear footsteps outside and the doors were pulled open. You raised your head and focused your stare on the group in front of you as they entered. You recognized his parents but your eyes couldn’t be torn from the one behind them. Green eyes meeting yours.
Your father gave you a reassuring smile and stood up as they stopped in front of you. “Hear me! We bring to you the chosen who has come from the rivers of Galahd to be with their betrothed. What say you?”
“Hear me.” His mother started as Ignis walked forward to stand in front of you. “The betrothed we present to you is the future lord of house Scientia and advisor to the future king.” She turned to her son, “Is this your chosen?”
He nodded, his face remaining expressionless. “It is.”
“Then he shall veil them and they will stand before the gods.” Your father continued.
As Ignis reached out you pulled back causing him to stop. His scent overwhelmed you smelling of fire and sage. Your eyes searched his trying to get a read on him if he was okay with this or if he was just doing this because it was his duty. As the veil came down you lowered your head and let out a sigh.
The thin lace now over your face did little to obscure your vision but you took the hand that Ignis offered to you, steadying you as you stood up. You muttered a small thank you but there was no response from the man beside you.
His hand was strong and his fingers intertwined with yours as you both walked down the hall. The ceremony was going to be held in the back gardens, a sacellum had been constructed for the occasion. The scent of alphas was heavy in the air as you walked out with him, heading towards the alter and priest. Your mind was telling you to run, heart beating so fast you were sure everyone could hear it. He brought you right before the alter and the priestess started the ceremony.
You were only half aware of what the she was saying as you looked at the man before you. Still stoic, still unreadable. What would life be like after today? Would he always be this cold and detached?
“Your hand.” The priestess said quietly, snapping you out of your thoughts.
Trying to still your shaking, your raised your right hand, pressing your palm against his. The priestess started to loosely tie a silver cord around your joined hands, once-twice-thrice. With his free hand Ignis reached out and lifted your veil and for a moment you thought you caught a smile on his lips as you looked up at him, but in a split second it was gone.
“12 circles for 12 full moons weave a spell of protection.” The priestess continued as the two of your started to walk in a circle, six to the right and six to the left to represent the waxing and waning cycle. At the end, she unbound your hands. “You are bound.” She smiled and the gathered guests started to clap and cheer.
He leaned in and pressed a chaste kiss to your lips before taking your hand. “Ready?” He asked lowly as he drew in close.
His scent was making you heady and you forced a nod, slowly walking with him back towards the mansion. There was going to be a little break before the reception allowing you two a little bit of time together without interruption.
“How are you feeling?” He asked having brought you back to the room where the veiling had taken place earlier.
You were a little unsure how to answer, was he expecting the truth or was he expecting something else? “Overwhelmed.” You said softly, going to sit on the cushion. It was the only familiar thing in the room.
“Likewise.” He answered, moving to sit down. Ignis offered you a soft smile, “But I hope we will be able to enjoy ourselves a little bit.”
You found yourself giving a snort and glanced at him out of the corner of your eye. “I’m sure you will, they’re all going to wonder why your parents picked me.”
You saw him cock his head slightly to the side and he let out a quiet chuckle. Standing, he crossed the distance between the two of you in a few strides and reached out for you, gently tapping your chin upwards with his fingers and forcing you to look up at him.
“Dear Y/N,” He started softly. “They may have made the arrangements for our meeting but the choice has always been mine.”
You jerked your head back from his touch and glared. “You could have anyone you wanted so why pick a runt omega?”
There was something in his eyes that you couldn’t quite place, “Because you are independent, not just another omega bred and schooled to marry well. My position requires most of my time, I need a partner that has their own life and will be able to carry on without me there. I need someone who can stand on their own.”
“Then why find someone at all?”
His eyes closed and you heard a sigh escape his lips, “My station requires a mate.”
The hair on the back of your neck rose up and you felt the familiar sting of tears pricking at your eyes. It hurt knowing that even in this day and age your worth was determined by the life you could bring into this world. “No, it requires a broodmare.” When he didn’t deny it you let out a disgusted growl and turned away.
You couldn’t wait for the reception to start. Except for dinner you would at least be able to be near your friends and family before the den period started. You made it your mission to avoid being with your mate for more than a few moments, only long enough to be introduced to his friends; the prince, who seemed more than just a little bored with the whole thing but seemed genuinely happy for his friend. The shield, who was more interested in the open bar and chasing any female who would entertain his attention once dinner was over and lastly a human ambassador from Niflheim who just wouldn’t stop taking pictures. It was all making your mind spin and the wine you had been drinking to help calm your nerves wasn’t helping.
Well, the feast was grand and as the moon rose high in the night sky the shifters transformed and the joyous howls of the wolves could be heard on the night air. You were talking with your family when suddenly you were pulled away by strong hands you didn’t recognize. Glancing back over your shoulder you saw it was the shield, his name escaping you.
“Hey Iggy!” He called out, lifting you up into his arms. “I think it’s about time we bundle you two and get your marriage started, don’t you think? Guys, c’mere and help me drag him inside! Ladies, someone wanna take this one off my hands?”
Bundling was an old tradition, one where the newlyweds were taken to their den by their friends, stripped and bundled together in the sheets of their marital bed. You swallowed a lump in your throat, fear rising up. This was one tradition you didn’t think would be happening.
Ignis pushed through the crowd that had gathered around and went to get you, hands clasping your waist and pulling you down. “That’s enough, Gladio!” He said sharply, an arm wrapping around you and pulling your body flush against his. “There will be none of that.”
The other man pouted and looked like a scolded child as he reached to run a hand through his unruly hair. “C’mon Iggy, it’s tradition!”
“And when you have your own bonding you can do what you want.” He growled, his grip on you never loosening for a moment. His presence flared in a show of dominance. “You are right though, I think it is time for my mate and I to bid our guests farewell.” Ignis looked down at you and all you could do was nod weakly.
With him not leaving your side the two of you started to go through the crowd and started to say goodbye. Even through the fog of inebriety you could feel dread slowly start to creep in only getting worse as he lead you inside once the guests had left.
You had imagined this night going much differently growing up. You had thought you’d be in love and not dreading the moments to come. Following Ignis upstairs you couldn’t stop your body from shaking or the tears from slipping down your cheeks. He held the door to the master suite open, allowing you to walk past him. Hands shaking you reached back to start undoing your bindings.
“Please stop.”
Freezing, you looked as Ignis came to up to you and gently pulling your hands away but kept them in his own.
“I do not intend to share a bed or a bond with you until you are ready.” He squeezed your hands before reaching up to cup the side of your face, thumb brushing away a stray tear.
“And what if I am never ready to share those things with you?” A few more tears started to slip from your eyes.
He shrugged and stepped back, “Then that will just have to be. I’ll be staying a few rooms down, I wish you a good evening.” With that Ignis turned and left the room, closing the door behind him, leaving you alone to process what had just happened.

The next morning came around quickly, you woke up to find yourself alone, which was bliss, remembering that you had your own room for the first time in a long time. You slowly got ready to explore, hoping that Ignis was still on for today, the two of you never really got any time to spend together alone, you were interested and curious to see how this would go down. You strolled down the stairs, to see Iris waiting nervously, you strolled over to her, wondering what she was up to this time “
Good morning Iris” You chimed in, looking at her smiling
“oh! Good morning [Y/N] how are you doing?”
“Fine, having my own room was bliss… how are you doing?” “I’m happy you are here, all of you.”
“Where are the others?”
“Well… Ignis set off really early, Prompto is wandering around somewhere, he went alone. Gladius went with Ignis and Noct…. I don’t know. I was hoping he would appear soon. I wanted to show him around Lestallum”
“that would be nice, he needs a break from everything that’s happening”
“You think so?” she sounded hopeful “I just, thought it would be nice to spend time with him” She smiled, scratching the back of her head. “What about you [Y/N] has anything changed with you?”
“me?” you pointed to yourself looking rather confused “Me and what?”
“You know…. one of the boys…”
“OH!” You went bright red “nothing… I’ve known them too long” You smiled laughing awkwardly. “Well… I best go find one of them” You laughed, waving “have fun with noctis!”
“have fun!” She sung, waving smiling. You started to stroll around the town, it was a new experience for you, you felt relaxed as you finally could stroll around town without being stopped and stared at, or known to be Cor’s daughter in the city of Insomnia. You felt finally… at home.
This town was full of powerful women, women you felt you could relate to completely as they worked in the power plant, they did everything here, taking complete charge. You admired them, you felt powerful here. Although in the back of your mind, you thought about Prompto last night. His reaction was strange, normally Prompto was extremely cheeky when it came to romance and seeing other people kissing, all through high school he would joke around when he saw any of that sort of stuff, and when it came to you, he had always been a little cheeky, however very protective if any guy had hit on you… in fact thinking about it now, you had never had any romantic attachment, because Prompto had advised against it…. Strange. You spotted Ignis and Gladius strolling down the market street, they hadn’t spotted you as the two of them were being toured around by Talcott. You wondered where Prompto was, he was nowhere to be seen. You watched the two grown men, being ever so gentle with Talcott, you had never seen them interact with children, so for you it was a refreshing scene to watch. You stepped out, so they could see you, Talcott waved you down as you approached the three of them.
“Good morning” Ignis chimed in “We are being shown around by Talcott this morning, if you care to join”
“Sure” you smiled, joining the three, as Talcott excitedly showed us around the town… Ignis watching you with Talcott everytime he could be facing you, a slight smile on his face.
The day went flying past, before you knew it, it was the evening, the sun was setting over Lestallum and you felt relaxed more than ever. You found yourself walking alone towards the Outlook, to watch the sunset, even though you were alone you didn’t mind, sometimes you felt you spent too much time with the boys, and just needed some time alone. A lot of couples were there sitting on the benches, watching the sun go down, but you were alone, you felt awkward but at the same time, you were at peace with yourself. You leaned against the stone walls, your arms resting against its hard surface, letting out a long sigh.
“hey, I didn’t know you were coming down here” you heard the familiar voice of Prompto. You turned and smiled “You should have told me!”
“Sorry…” sighing, you turned back to watch the sunset “I didn’t think anyone was around” You smiled, watching the birds fly through the sky “Isn’t it beautiful?”
“Yeah…” Prompto said looking at you “Beautiful” You hadn’t even noticed, as you watched the sunset, Prompto clicked his camera, taking dozens of photos “hey selfie!” he cried out, raising his camera high, the two of you smiled, posing for the shot before Prompto took a shot
“it’s been a while” you said, waiting to see the photo “since we took a photo together”
“ah, it has! He smiled, looking at the photo of the two of you “this is perfect! Look at the lighting!”
“Send it to me sometime?” you smiled “I want to keep it”
“Of course” he chimed, turning to face the sunset, as the light started to fade. “It has been too long, don’t we look different now” he sighed staring at the photo “We look old!” “Hey hey! We do not!” you playfully knocked into him, making him smile.
Prompto leaned against the wall, his hands propping him up.
“Hey…[Y/N] can we talk?”
“what’s the matter Prompto?” raising an eyebrow you looked at Prompto, whose face had turned slightly red, his body tense. He looked awkward, more awkward than usual
“I… about last night”
“yeah?”
“are…. Are you and Ignis...?”
“are we what?”
“together…” his voice cracked, looking down at his feet “I mean, it’s okay if you are it’s just… I just…”
“Ignis? He” You thought about it for a moment. Could you say you were together? Nothing was official and it certainly wasn’t the time to declare something more serious was happening between the two of you. Then you thought closer, this was Prompto, your childhood friend, your best friend.
“A few weeks ago, when Insomnia fell, Ignis asked me to wait for him… he declared his feelings for me”
“Iggy? And what did you say”
“At the time… nothing, last night, I felt like I could agree to…wait”
“ah…” Prompto went quiet, staring still at the floor, his feet shuffling slightly under the awkward conversation and situation we were in. “Well… I hope it works… you deserve it”
“what has brought this on Prompto?” You asked, raising an eyebrow
“Because I saw you two…. Together” his voice was lower than usual, his face was weak, his eyes watering a little “You… both”
“Prompto….”
“Why him?” Prompto asked, before he turned to you “Why Ignis?” You looked at Prompto, your stomach felt like it was in your throat, your heart pounding. What was Prompto trying to say… “Why….” he closed his eyes “what made him so special to you?” As he opened his eyes again, they were watering.
“Prompto…” You tried to reach out for him, but his hand brushed you away
“Please…” he stood up tall “don’t…” He walked away, his shoulders low. You watched him for a moment, as the skies turned darker, you let out a sigh, a tear trickling down your cheek
“What have I done…” You whispered to yourself.
You went back to your hotel room shortly after, taking your time, not really wanting to go back to see any of them. You reached the corridor, hearing the others laughing, minus you and Prompto, didn’t make you feel any happier, in fact you felt worse. Prompto was the funny guy, the one who always kept us so upbeat, however you were the reason why Prompto didn’t even want to socalise with anyone, you just imagined him, sitting alone in his room.
You reached your door and quickly went inside, slumping down on your bed.
“I just…” you sighed to yourself “I want everything to be how it was” you sulked, tears starting trickling down your cheeks, faster and faster as it became uncontrollable. Your body felt weak as you laid, head against the pillow, curled in a ball. You felt completely alone in this one moment and not in the good sense. Little did you know, someone was listening from the otherside of the door…
You closed your eyes, hoping for it all to of been a dream, that Prompto hadn’t said anything, that Ignis had not made his emotions clear, that you had just been the five friends which you were when you set out on this trip. With no tension, with no secret meetings or talks by the fireside. You thought back through it all, your eyes sore from crying so much. There was a knock at the door, from the other side, which joined your room to Noctis and Gladius. You didn’t respond hoping they wouldn't bother. However you heard the door open. You buried your face in the pillow hoping they would think you were asleep.
“Is something the matter?” … it was Ignis. His voice was calm. “[Y/N]... are you awake?” He moved closer, coming to look at you, checking if you were awake or not. You couldn’t hide it very well as you felt him sit next to you, his hand brushed over your hair “what happened?”
You looked up at him, his hair was messy, he had obviously found a moment in the day to relax, as he didn’t seem so formal as he usually did, the lack of gloves meant something towards that.
“My darling, what is the matter?” he said, continuing to stroke your hair. “Have I done something to upset you?” “No..” you murmured from the pillow “I just felt down… thats all”
“I see…anything I can help you with?” You shook your head “I see…” Ignis seemed upset by the state you were in “Let me get you something to drink” he started to get up, but you grabbed his hand “hm?”
“Ignis…” you muttered, looking up into his green eyes which seemed so full of despair seeing you like this. “I don’t want to ruin what we have…”
“You can’t, there is nothing which can do that…”
“But I think I did” You responded “Prompto… he…”
“Ah…” Ignis seemed to know something you didn’t. He nodded slightly “i’ll talk to him”
“Will you?” You held onto his hand tightly.
“Anything for you” he said “now get some sleep, we have somewhere to go tomorrow morning, which involves a lot of walking”
“Okay..” you muttered, he kissed you on the forehead and walked towards his room, turning your light off as he went.
But still, that kiss didn’t feel the same.
Ignis opened the door, to find Prompto leaning against it, nearly falling through Ignis grabbed him before they made any noise, which could of allowed anyone to of known what Prompto had been up to. “Listening were you?” Ignis sighed as he closed the door gently, as not to make too much noise
“I…” Prompto went bright red “Iggy..”
“Do you want to tell me something?” Ignis responded, like a parent speaking to his child “Prompto, what did you do?” “How…”
“You were listening, clearly you heard”
“Iggy, I…” Prompto was going redder in the face “I just had to… I… it just came out”
“How long have you?”
“What?” Prompto paused “loved her?” he looked towards the door “since the moment I met her that day she was late to meet us…and she crashed into me in the corridor” Prompto had a shimmer in his eye, not knowing if it was admiration or tears, Ignis continued to let the boy speak. “Ever since then…what about you?” He looked away, not really wanting to know.
“One time on the bench... near Noctis’ apartment” Ignis laughed to himself “something about the way she told me I could live my own life...”
“I see...” Prompto looked away, rolling his eyes a little.
“And you had no plans on telling her?”
“She couldn’t think of me that way, besides I tried to hide it, the whole Cindy thing… I just wanted her to feel a little jealous, so maybe she would… realise she had feelings for me too”
“Prompto, you know that's not what you should of done” Ignis sat down, untying his shoes for bed
“It’s a little late for that now isn’t it Specs?” Prompto snapped a little, being a little brave towards the man who had stolen his first love away. “Besides doesn’t she think it was all you? You were the one who always made everything seem so perfect. You kissed her everynight, hoping she would one day realise it was you... you smile at her, watch her, admire her! What else does she see you as Iggy?!”
"I didn’t click till that night she told me about it…I didnt know”
“Did you take the credit for the goodnight kiss?”
“I didn’t claim it was me... I will let her know”
“Don’t… don’t tell her..” Prompto said, slumping onto his bed “I can’t…” he closed his eyes for a moment “bare it anymore…I cant do this to her anymore... just promise me one thing..”
“Of course, anything”
“Don’t… don’t ever break her heart. Or I will come and get you, no matter where you are, if Noctis tries to stop me or not, I would put her before my own life.” he turned to face Ignis again, this time his face looked serious, the only time Ignis could say he saw Prompto like this “I mean it Ignis. If you can’t protect her, if you can’t hold her when she needs to. You know I will be there, and I will always be there for her.” Prompto turned back around, pulling off his jacket “That I swear”
Ignis didn’t reply, instead, turned the light out, hoping that tomorrow, would bring a calm to this storm which he had accidently created.
Synopsis: You just wanted to know his name. Was that too much to ask for? Apparently so according to the bratty prince.
Author’s Note: This is a one shot? It’s short. It ends abruptly. BUT I may make another part to it if you guys want to see more! Just let me know! Enjoy!
“So…” You dragged out the ‘o’ as you rocked back and forth on your heels, hands clasped behind your back, and a clearly not innocent smile on your face as you looked at the prince of Lucis beside you.
“What?” He irritably asked. Noctis knew whenever you started a sentence with “so” and rocked on your heels, you wanted something from him. And usually it was something he didn’t want to do.
“When’s your body guard coming to pick you up?” You blinked at the raven-haired boy. Both of you were standing in front of the school gates, waiting for Noctis’s “body guard” as you referred to him as to take Noctis home. Noctis and you both lived in the same building complex – and were even neighbors – so naturally you guys became acquainted. You didn’t want to get too involved with the future king of Lucis’s life but you did consider him a close friend of yours. However, you did draw lines to just how close you’d get to the prince. Like when he would invite you over to play video games or offer you ride homes in his body guard’s car. Usually you opted out for both occasions. You never accepted rides from the prince and just walked home instead. So, you’d wait until his ride came to keep him company. He had another friend, Prompto, but he lived on the other side of town and usually got an early start with his walk home. However, today would be different. Today, you’d accept a ride from Noctis if he were to offer one.
“Who? Gladio? He doesn’t pick me up,” Noctis arched a brow at you.
You instantly shook your head. “Not muscle man, the other one!”
“Specs?”
“Bingo,” You grinned at him. “What’s his name again?”
“Why?”
“Since we’re best friends and all-“
“We’re neighbors who happen to live in the same apartment complex and attend the same high school.”
“Best friends. Anyways, what’s his name, Noct?”
“Why is he important?”
“Do you like me?”
“What?!” Noctis turned to face you immediately as you said that. You stopped rocking on your heels and placed your hands on your hips and began to circle the boy.
“I mean, you won’t tell me the name of your body guard –“
“Adviser.”
“Adviser, whatever,” You waved his remark off. “And I feel like I should know his name considering we’re best friends. I mean, I know of Prompto and Gladiolus, why not adviser guy?”
“What does this have to do with me liking you?”
“So, you admit it! You like me!” You pointed an accusing finger at him. Noctis’s face immediately turned red. He instantly slapped your hand down.
“Not even.”
“Then why won’t you tell me his name?! Are you scared I might like him better than you?”
“No-“
“Because if you are, you’re probably right,” You grinned at him.
“Don’t you have to go do something else like homework? You really don’t have to wait with me today,” Noctis grumbled under his breath. You rolled your eyes at his statement.
“Aren’t you going to offer me a ride home?”
“You’re going to say no,” Noctis shrugged.
“Try me.”
He arched a brow at you while you grinned at him. “…Y/N, want a ride back home?”
“Sure!” You grinned at Noctis’s now shocked face. He’s known you since middle school and you’ve never accepted a ride from him before. Ever.
“Seriously?”
“Dead ass.” You continued to grin in his face. Your eyes skimmed past him and at the black car with the flags of Lucis on it. Immediately, your face grew with excitement as you saw the man in the driver’s seat. “Our ride is here! I call shotgun!”
“We have to sit in the back. Ignis won’t allow anyone in the front.”
“Ignis…” The name rolled smoothly off your tongue. “His name is Ignis…”

Everything had to be absolutely perfect.
Ignis planned out everything perfectly, every step, every word, every reaction was already planned out in his mind. He planned for every reaction: happiness, overjoyed, disgust, sadness, it was all planned out already. All that was left was the actual execution of his plan.
Something that Ignis didn't plan for was his nervousness. Although he didn't show it, he was quite nervous. He was asking you to spend the rest of your life with him... But what if that isn't what you wanted? Maybe it was too early, perhaps he rushed a bit into this. Ignis knew he loved you though, there was no doubt about it. He wanted to spend his entire life with you no matter what. It all depended on you.
You, however, never even guessed he was planning something. He was so secretive about it, and you seemed to be completely oblivious. When he asked you on a date to the first place you ever went on a date on, you thought nothing of it. Ignis did voice his positive opinions on it during the first date, so perhaps he just missed it. When the two of you arrived to Galdin Quay, you didn't grow suspicious when you were guided to a private viewing, lit up by romantic candles and a perfect view of Angelgard and the sunset.
During the date, everything seemed to be casual. You two had wonderful banter and lots of laughs, this moment reminding Ignis why he fell for you in the first place. You looked absolutely gorgeous in his eyes, which made him even more nervous. The candle light and sunset combination made you glow, the way you giggled at his sly jokes and couldn't stop yourself from touching him, it made his heart pound against his chest.
When the time came, and it was nice and dark outside, he felt his hands grow shaky for what seemed to be the first time in his life. Once the two of you fell into a comfortable silence, you admired the view together, your hands interlocked as his thumb brushed over your knuckles. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" You whispered, in awe as you stargazed.
Ignis turned towards you, a small smile forming on his lips. "Certainly." He answered, no longer paying attention to the stars. He let out a breath and turned towards you fully, taking both of your hands.
"[Name], you've made me so happy in these long years that I've known you." He started, causing you to turn towards him hesitantly. "You're beautiful, funny, and fantastic to have around, and I wish nothing more for that to be the same for the rest of my life. You've changed my life significantly." He explained.
A confused look formed on your features as he spoke. Immediately, your mind spiraled into overthinking every word. The idea of proposal completely flew over your head as you stared up at him. Slowly, Ignis stood and moved down to one knee next to you, causing you to stand and cover your mouth in surprise. "Ignis, are you-?"
"You've been a joy in my life, and I simply would like to ask you to continue... Will you marry me?" He asked, opening a small box he snuck out of his pocket. You felt yourself grow teary eyed as you nodded eagerly, a happy and shaky laugh leaving your lips as you embraced him. Ignis chuckled softly and held you, his eyes falling shut as he held onto you.
"I love you so much..." You whispered, sounding like you were crying. When you pulled away, Ignis gently cleaned away your tears, before slipping on the ring. You examined it and felt your heart melt at the design. It was a gold ring with a heart shaped diamond on top. The ring was simple, but it looked absolutely beautiful.
Ignis smiled lovingly and trailed kisses down your cheek. "I love you, too." He whispered. Everything had gone according to plan, and now the two of you were set for life.
