I am not against people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s engaging in fandom and writing fanfic.

BUT- you honestly can really tell when older people aren't writing themes into their fics because it'd be interesting or fun and it's because they GENUINELY believe these things and it can be the most backwards shit imaginable and it genuinely is just gross to read.

For example,

people with bipolar disorder are NOT INHERENTLY MANIPULATIVE, INHERENTLY MALICIOUS AND THEY DO NOT DESERVE FOR YOU TO IMPLY THAT THEY'RE INHERENTLY UNLOVABLE AND THAT THEIR FAMILY IS STUCK LOVING THEM BECAUSE OTHERWISE WHO WILL LOVE THEM.

EVEN MORE SO, TO HAVE CHARACTERS STATE IN YOUR FANFIC THAT BIPOLAR PEOPLE WILL GET FIXED IF THEY JUST GET LAID IS INCREDIBLY GROSS.

YOUR AGE IS NOT AN EXCUSE, DO BETTER.
