Long and unorganized ranting about TBP 2. Thatâs literally it.
I didnât really like or hate TBP 2 but I feel like when people complain about it, they complain WRONG.
âWhy was The Grabber supernatural?â Because Finney and Gwen are supernatural. And also itâs mentioned in the first movie that he can literally hear the phone and just ignores it because he doesnât want toâand then at the end he hears them all while heâs being killed. He was supernatural from the start.
Thereâs plenty of things to gripe about though. And I kind of wish it focused on Finn more. Sure, yes, Gwen was also supernatural and special and she also went through trauma and stuff⊠but it wasnât fucking about her??
She couldâve still had her moment, but I wouldâve prefered if it was centered around Finn and her having a moment instead of centered around her. I get Finn wasnât blameless and Gwen had issues and feelings too but they made it seem like she was the overall victim of all of it and not THE BOY WHO GOT KIDNAPPED.
âYou smoke too fucking much!â âBitch I got kidnapped, raped, killed a man, and talked to 5 dead kids including my best friend?? You should be THANKING me for not being worse.â
And Ernesto was just.. there. No reason to be there at all other than love interest and âhaha Finn is protective older brother!â GO AWAY.
Also the way that they seemed to âredeemâ Terrence way too easily pissed me off. That guy abused his two kids for years and was an alcoholic asshole. Heâs LUCKY he got to survive at all. He shouldâve met the same fate as The Grabber.

I also get that the whole idea behind The Grabber going after Gwen was because he knew it would hurt Finn but⊠The Grabberâs demographic was underage boys. Not girls. So I meanâIâm 50/50 on that. On one hand, I understand the reasoning but on the other.. it doesnât really fit.
And once again.. why was Ernesto there?? FUCK, why didnât they make Ernesto the target? Then Finn would still have the chance to do the whole bullshit âprotective big brotherâ thing (ew) while also having to grapple with the fact that he canât stand looking at Ernesto because he looks too much like Robin while ALSO having to save Ernesto from the guy who killed his brotherâwhich just worsens Finnâs trauma because he would feel guilt if he let another kid die, let alone someone his sister was close to, and even worse the BROTHER OF HIS DEAD BEST FRIEND.
Heâd never be able to live with himself if both Arellanoâs died, heâd feel so sick and heâd talk to Robin saying âIâm so sorry I couldnât save you and Iâm sorry I didnât save your brother eitherâ and heâd be sick and miserable and heâd feel bad he couldnât save the one good thing in Gwenâs life either and heâd feel like he had this death curse surrounding him now and he couldnât do anything right and
I SHOULDâVE BEEN THE ONE WHO WROTE THE MOVIE.
All that needs to be done is to recenter it on Finn, change the focus of killing Gwen to killing Ernesto, and then I donât know.. get rid of The Grabberâs weird fucking ice skating thing.
I donât know why that happened. So many things couldâve happened, why was him ice skating part of it? Why did that need to happen? So much gimmicky bullshit Iâm so fucking lost.
Like I saidâI donât hate or love the movie. Itâs just kinda⊠there. Similar to Ernesto.
But it did show Finn watching Night Flight so obviously NOT EVERYTHING WAS BAD. đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€
