So I’d like to preface this image off by saying, it was 100% a spite fueled creation. I was told that I couldn’t design better than the original, and I went off. I am in no means normally like this, but it was the second time after critiquing an image that my abilities were called into question, or blatantly told to not be there. I’ve made it no secret on my main blog, Insomiac, the I have anger issues. Now this so-called “blow up” was in no means as bad as it could’ve been, but I digress.
So for the backstory with the image, sometime in 2018 I came across a image picturing the Incredible’s children much older on Pinterest (The image here, and if anyone can give me the original creator’s blog, link, I will gladly change it to that so they get traffic that they deserve rather than a pinterest post) And I disliked Violet’s design, I thought it was a bit too revealing for her personality, and generally as a hero getup (and we can file revealing hero suits for a later date, I have a WHOLE other issue with big name comics/shows spreading costumes like that.) So, when these two people commented on my comment, which while it was a bit rude at first (I was 15, I didn’t know how to critique well back then.) telling me that if I didn’t like it, I should do better, I decided to say “fuck it, and fuck you, I will.” (One was more polite than the other in any case.)
So, without anymore explaining, here’s my older Violet design
So as you can see, I added more armored elements to her design (The shoulder/knee pads, and what’s harder to see, the almost brass knuckles she has as well) simply because her powers are that more defense based and decided to incorporate that further into her design. I also gave her the face mask that I did simply because I like it, and it hides more of her face than the normal “hero” mask does.
Her belt was going to be the thing that had the Incredible’s logo on it, but I decided against that since her chest was pretty empty and it looked weird to not have it there, so the buckle is just bare (Which I wish it wasn’t, but oh well.) I also cut her hair shorter since Violet’s long hair in general would be very bad in combat, plus the half shaven head seems very on point for a style Violet would go with once she grows in confidence.
And for a final thing you can’t see, she has piercings in her right ear, but her hair covers that up which is sad.
Anyways, give me criticism on my design, tell me what you’d have done, tell me what you wouldn’t have done, ect, ect, I’d love to hear all your thoughts on what I did right, what I did wrong... this kind of sounds like a Youtuber’s outro.
