Who lives in our homes before you - it drives us. . Shared from @ourqueenannebeauty . O N E step closer to unlocking the hidden mysteries of this place. I was able to find names of the owners, from us through 1978 fairly easily online. I knew there was a doctor in the big town a few minutes away, with the same name. Could this be the same person who once owned our house? This #oldhousecommunity gave me the courage to reach out! Lee Ann of @ladyonchestnut said "the worst that can happen is you get no response." Well, he responded last night! Dr. C wrote a beautiful email filled with memories of neighborhood and the big red barn out back. . He shared a picture, too ➡️!! There she is in the fall of 1978. She's the same, but there are subtle differences(swipe again for her today). I was filled with goosebumps and tears making this connection. . He sold the house almost exactly 40 years before we bought it (Dec 1978/Jan 2009)!! This is what is the best part of owning a little piece of history! . #BrickStory, #storystylesoul, #architecture #historicpreservation, #househistory, #preservation, #historichome, #oldhouselove, #americanhome, #vintagelife, #architect, #americanhistory, #thisoldhouse, #ancestry, #heritagetourism, #storyteller, #dreamhome, #travelamerica, #instahouses, #instatravel, #instaarchitecture, #travelnow, #onlyinamerica, #archigram, #americanneighborhoods, #nowandthen, #thenandnow, #ancestry Tell us your story...
