Years ago, we all came from the same situations in different degrees. Some of us are stealing things, breaking hearts, disregarding purity etc. We often dwell on those things because it has been our rock, our satisfaction and our cravings.Â
Most of the time we can’t say ‘no’ to the things our flesh craves. We jump into that unending cliff without even knowing its depth— we just basically want to live as people who want to try everything before they die.Â
Our God is a holy God and He doesn’t tolerate sin. When we were out here in this world, sinning and completely giving our identity and our life to the bondage of sin, our God had already planned our salvation. When our identity was lost in sin, our God, because of His love, made a move to recover our identity.Â
We all deserve to be thrown out into the everlasting fire because of our unrighteousness and unholy acts. We all deserve to suffer for eternity for we have disgrace God’s creation but because of God’s love, He has redeemed us all.Â
Again, we were all slaves in sin but Jesus came to this world to redeem us. He made us a new creation, free from the bondage of sin and our old self that craves for sin has already been buried. As Christians, who were once a sinner, we should always remember that Christ bought our identity and we should now live our lives as a new creation— free from sin and rich in Christ.Â
Therefore, when we do things (our normal routine), we should always remember to do only those things that can glorify God— this is the manifestation of Christ’s salvation in our lives. Not that we are doing it because we are forced to do it, but we are doing it because we are a new creation and everything we do glorify God through Jesus Christ.Â
We usually forget that we are a new creation and we still cling to our old self, so most of the time we do things that can’t glorify God. However, let us always remember that the only way to glorify God is through Jesus Christ and imitating Christ’s likeness is the identity we have now— an identity that was bought two thousand years ago on the cross.Â
