saw your recent post, could make olfactory hallucination emote?
Thank you!
HELL yeah
I feel like olfactory (smell) hallucinations aren't talked about much. Are they rarer?
not really! actually so many different conditions can result in olfactory hallucinations like nasal infections or other neurological disorders like migraines, head injury, stroke, parkinsons disease, seizures, brain tumor, and of course psychotic disorders.
though most things online say every type of hallucination besides auditory in psychosis is "rare", i dont really believe that from my own experience and what ive heard other psychotics describe.
im guessing its not talked about a lot cause its kinda hard to prove, especially if you live in a city or apartment building like i do, like if i smell something funky i almost always assume its one of my neighbors cooking up or burning something.
also it might not be talked about because the smells are typically something gross (like rotting smell) and people dont like to talk about gross things.
you know sometimes I'll randomly smell a smell thats not actually in the room with me, like an olfactory hallucination. sometimes I wonder about that. like is it normal? should I be concerned? eitherway I don't really care enough to do anything about it...
Sensory hallucinations are so crazy because google will be like ‘if u suddenly smell chemicals in your house then there’s something terribly wrong’ and I’m just here like. Well you didn’t account for the possibility that my brain likes playing tricks on me, did you?
I keep smelling vagina and I can't tell if it's coming from me or everyone else.

Why do I smell my piña colada wax melts when they’re sealed in my dresser drawer??
