Calling it now: Guinevere's AI was based off the downloaded consciousness of a deceased individual that Oliva was close to. Someone Oliva utterly idolized as a child and assumed to be perfect.

So all of her attempts to 'fix' the android are attempts to bring back the person Guinevere used to be. Unfortunately, Oliva is only trying to bring back an idealized version of Guinevere that lacks any of the flaws the original person possessed.

When flaws show, Oliva tries to torture them out because they're obviously mistakes in the programing that need to be fixed. Because 'her Guinevere' would NEVER act like that.
