At the question about why he was here, Simon subconsciously rub the small swelling upon the back of his neck. His poor excuse of a mother jabbed him with some sort of concoction days prior to now. Didn't think much of it; wasn't the first time that psycho had come at him with something or rather.

"Guard duty. Nothing all that excited to be frank." He replied with a sigh, taking one last puff before flicking the butt of the cigarette to the ground. Stomping it out under his boot. "But the bitch scientist I was assigned to decided to evacuate herself without informing me. Typical behaviour from that woman." His voice dripped with venom, even the calm look upon his face faltered.

"If you insist." He replied before tucking the kit back into his bag. He lets out a sigh before glancing at the window. It was covered by a curtain, but he could hear the creatures that lurked outside.

"How the hell did this mess even happen?" He asked aloud, looking down before counting his bullets.

Despite the madness going on around them, Simon seemed rather... calm. As if being surrounded by the undead was just a minor inconvenience in his life. But, as the pair had found a somewhat safe place to rest and check equipment, Simon was taking advantage of the break to enjoy a well earned cigarette.

Though a bottle of whisky would have been better...

"I certainly didn't read this on the job application." He replied while exhaling a puff of smoke; the Brit dangerously perched upon the edge of a cluttered table.
