Pokemon Next-Gen (Celebrities): Olivia “Esmeralda” Birch

Olivia is the youngest of Lisia and Brendan’s children. As a little girl, she always admired pop idols and her mother and she dreamed of being one. She would always practice singing and dancing like an idol when she saw one performing on TV. She soon met Linnea and became best friends with her, both of them bonding over the fact they wanted to be pop idols and soon they both agreed to be a pop duo and auditioned for a well-known records company. They both passed and are now making it big together. When asked if they wanted stage names, Olivia chose Esmeralda.

Olivia’s main colors are pink, purple and white. From pink, she’s the immature one, still sweet and innocent. She’s also compassionate as she wanted to be an idol to make others happy just like how she felt when she first saw an idol. She’s also very emotional and very girly, her dream to be an idol was often seen as silly and unrealistic by some members of her family which led to her feeling as if her dream really was silly and she started to think she couldn’t make it as an idol, but she still held onto her dream and never full gave up hope. From purple, she’s creative, which helps as she’s the one who writes all of their songs and comes up with their dance routines. She’s also very interested in the fantasy genre seeing as her whole team except for Ivysaur are Fairy types, the color purple helps her with keeping her emotions under control. She’s also selfless and much like her brother she doesn’t like copying others, so she’s always seen doing her best not to copy anything from other idols. From white, she’s innocent and seen as pure as well as efficient in the things she does for herself, her siblings and her friend Linnea.

Her Pokemon:

Ivysaur- When given the choice between the Hoenn starters and the Kanto starters, she picked Bulbasaur because she thought of the different kinds of displays Bulbasaur could do once she becomes an idol. As a Bulbasaur, Ivysaur was eager to do whatever she could to help jump-start Olivia’s career and she was more than willing to be in Pokevision videos. She eventually evolved into Ivysaur and became more mature but she was still happy to help Olivia and she still does. Ivysaur mostly works behind the scenes as she can’t exactly dance like the other Pokemon, she focuses on making displays for her trainer and Linnea when they sing and dance together.

Ability is Overgrow.

Moves are Vine Whip, Seed Bomb, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Grassy Terrain, Petal Dance, Energy Ball, Light Screen, Safeguard and Magical Leaf.

Gardevoir- Gardevoir was Olivia’s first caught Pokemon, back when she was a Ralts she would do her best to try and avoid getting caught by trainers as she didn’t like the idea of battling. When she saw Olivia was practicing a dance routine with Ivysaur, Ralts immediately wanted to join her team. As a Ralts, Gardevoir was a little clumsy when it came to dancing but she would keep practicing, wanting to improve herself. Once she evolved into Kirlia, she became much better at dancing as it came naturally to her and became a lot more cheerful whenever she would dance. When she evolved into Gardevoir she became more elegant in her dancing and would dance alongside her trainer and would make them both look great as they danced. Gardevoir is best friends with Linnea’s Gothitelle and they were friends ever since they were in their first stages and they both love to dance with each other as well.

Moves are Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Misty Terrain, Magical Leaf, Psychic Terrain, Shadow Ball, Future Sight, Swift, Mystical Fire, and Psyshock.

Pikachu Pop Star- Olivia and Linnea were competing in a singing competition together, they both won and were given two special Pikachu that was not only dressed up but also had special moves. The Pikachu that Olivia picked was dressed like a pop star and had the move Draining Kiss. Pop Star Pikachu is very cheerful and outgoing, she’s always happy to greet a new Pokemon or person she meets, she’s best friends with Pikachu Belle and greatly enjoys the fact they can perform together with their new trainers.

Moves are Draining Kiss, Sweet Kiss, Electro Ball, Discharge, Light Screen, Swift, Disarming Voice, Charm, Round and Attract.

Sylveon- Olivia was given an Eevee by May along with her siblings and Linnea, she wanted to evolve her Eevee into a Sylveon so she played with her until she was ready to evolve. It wasn’t until one of their on-stage performances when Olivia’s Eevee and Linnea’s Eevee evolved into Sylveon and Espeon respectively. As an Eevee, Sylveon was playful and loved to dance along with her trainer and her teammates, she was more than willing to evolve into Sylveon as she thought Sylveon looked cute. She fully enjoys using her feelers to pick things up and enjoys waving them around as she dances. She’s best friends with Linnea’s Espeon.

Moves are Disarming Voice, Swift, Misty Terrain, Moonblast, Wish, Mystical Fire, Psyshock, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball and Charm.

Alcremie- Olivia caught Alcremie as a Milcrey while on tour in the Galar region. While traveling, she was given a Flower Sweet by a baker and she gave it to Milcrey when she saw how happy she looked when Milcrey saw it. While practicing her spinning, Milcrey joined her and soon evolved into her Rainbow Swirl form. Alcremie is kind and helpful to those around her, she also enjoys decorating cakes, so she’s mostly in the kitchen assisting others with decorating cakes and cupcakes for Olivia and Linnea after a performance. Much like Ivysaur, she uses her moves to create displays behind the scenes.

Moves are Sweet Scent, Sweet Kiss, Aromatherapy, Dazzling Gleam, Magical Leaf, Light Screen, Psychic, Encore, Round, and Safeguard.

Comfey- Olivia caught Comfey while visiting the Alola region, the Comfey was wild and was more than happy to give her a flower necklace to welcome her. After spending time with Olivia, Comfey ended up wanting to stay with her as part of her team which Olivia allowed. Comfey loves to pick flowers and create flower necklaces with them, she always places one on Olivia and Linnea to calm them down before a show so they can be nice and relaxed before they perform. Much like Ivysaur, she uses her moves to create displays while Olivia and Linnea dance and sing with their on-stage Pokemon.

Moves are Flower Shield, Magical Leaf, Sweet Kiss, Petal Blizzard, Petal Dance, Floral Healing, Sunny Day, Heal Bell, Lucky Chant, and Echoed Voice.
