“Winter Bonsai” 1982 by Eyvind Earle (1916-2000)
“We don’t realize what a privilege it is to grow old with someone.”
— Cecelia Ahern
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003, dir. Peter Jackson
I love my boyfriend ^^
People say we’re alike
They say we’ve got the same hair
Everything about this scene is so devastating. The gentleness of their musical motif rising to panic and suddenly breaking off mirroring Morwenna’s sudden gasp of fear, her line delivery- almost incredulous, not just shock but betrayal and disgust; the long silence, the beautiful pale and neutral colours and the cold light softening through the window.
The sheer contrast of extreme dark and light, peace and disturbance, closeness and separation, tenderness and violence… devastating. I’m devastated.

‘Ross said: “If it is a boy we’ll marry him to Clowance, and if a girl to Jeremy.”
“I’ll drink to that,” said Dwight.
“We’ll all drink to that.”’
— Winston Graham, The Four Swans
