"Y'all mind canoodling somewhere else so we can get birthday supper on the table?"
"I see nothing." Delta's just being kind to Garret, Samantha assures herself. She's on the verge of college and can't really be interested in any body so young.
Nope nope nope this is officially not happening!
"The trouble with dolls is, no matter how many birthday parties you throw for them, they never grow up."
"But if they don't grow up they never go away to college and forget about you."
Samantha has always regretted leaving so much of David's early upbringing to Dora. Those first years were so hard she's not sure what else she could have done, but it cost her a closeness she wishes she had now. But David is all in on making her birthday fun, and she appreciates that.
"I mean, waiting for Tommy is not on, and I don't expect him to wait for me. But that doesn't mean we won't find each other again once he gets to campus. Oh, I didn't know Wallys was here."
"He wasn't, he must've dropped in for Olivia."
"I know it's just statistics, but the difference between a 3.5 and a 4.0 really feels significant." Sharla's so grownup! Peter knew she was grownup, but she's so young for it.
Flavia is delighted to have Sharla back home and paying attention to her! "Okay, you ready? Remember, rock blunts scissors, scissors cuts paper, paper wraps up rock."
"Oh, well, if you want birds what you need to do is put out food for them."
