LPU to reward Rs 1.3 Crores to its Olympic Medal Winning students

Lovely Professional University will gift INR 50 lacs to Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, who is pursuing his Bachelors in Arts (B.A.) from the university. Neeraj has made billions of Indians proud by winning Gold in the Javelin throw event at Tokyo Olympics 2020. The University will also reward its wrestler student Bajrang Punia with Rs. 10 lacs for winning the Bronze Medal in the men’s freestyle 65 kg wrestling category. Bajrang, who is pursuing his MA in Public Administration from LPU, beat his rival Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan to clinch an 8-0 victory at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The university has already announced a reward of Rs. 70 lakh for its seven hockey players of the Indian team which won an Olympic medal after a wide gap of 41 years.

LPU Students made Indian Hockey Team win First Match in Tokyo Olympics 2020

Two MBA students of Lovely Professional University Harmanpreet Singh and Rupinderpal Singh made India beat New Zealand 3-2 in a Pool ‘A’ men’s hockey match at the Tokyo Olympics. All three goals were hit by LPU students Harmanpreet (2 goals) and Rupinderpal (1 goal) to brace the Indian Team for further successes and carried India into the next round. The match was played at the Oi Hockey Stadium South Pitch of Tokyo, Japan. Now India is to fight against Australia on 25th July by keeping up the winning orgy. India is in Pool A with Australia (No 1), Argentina (7th), New Zealand (8th), Spain (9th) and hosts Japan (15th) to further proceed to quarterfinals.
