How would the ROs react if for instance, they got home after a bad day while being in an equally bad mood. MC noticed this but as someone that’s more stoic and deadpan, they evidently didn’t quite know what to do. So in a poor attempt to comfort the ROs, MC just hesitantly walked over to them, then proceeded to petted the ROs softly on the head and said “there, there” with a complete straight face?
Archer: is really empathetic so knows exactly what your gesture means. Sighs, nuzzle their head in your neck and thanks you. It does help them a lot. Would offer a massage to help you relax as well. And if the massage leads to other things, they're perfectly ok letting your frustration out in another way.
Mishra: would act annoyed, say they're not a dog, but if you try to stop it they'd catch your hand and tell you they didn't tell you to stop. Would be petted for a little while, awkwardly stand up when they feel better and try to pretend this never happened. Would come back with your favorite food to thank you and show you support.
Botha: at first, they are unsure how to react and freeze. They can recognize your attempt but it doesn't make them feel better. After taking a deep breath, they'd take your hand in theirs, and hold it for a while. Maybe even kiss it if they're feeling bold. They are very grateful for you, and want to give you some comfort as well since you both feel shitty.
Nezha: Doesn't even question it and accepts the gesture. They have enough energy and are talkative enough for the both of you. They would immediately launch into a tirade to talk their feelings out as you pet them. Would talk about everything that made them feel shitty that day, and complain for you if you don't. When they're finally finished, they do feel a lot better. Would spend time with you after that, doing whatever you want together (I imagine MC and Nezha together in the way toddlers parallel play lol)
Smith: would be too much into their bad mood at first to appreciate you. There, there? Did you want to anger them even more ? Are you actually serious ? Then, they look at your face. You are actually serious. A smile breaks on their face. You're seriously trying to cheer them that way. They end up laughing uncontrollably because it's very you to do that. Would feel a lot lighter after. I imagine MC would feel slightly embarrassed because their efforts worked but backfired on them? Smith would like seeing your embarrassed face. "You're upset, MC? Maybe I should pet you". They're definitely feeling better.
How would the ros react if they had a nightmare where the mc dies (that feels very real) and woke up to find MC wasn't in the bed with them? (MC was actually just out in the kitchen to get a glass of water or something)
Archer: I won't answer cause possible spoilers ? not exactly this, but they do have PTSD.
Mishra : The first thing they would seek out is your comforting touch. Mishra might like to seem tough and cool but after a nightmare like this one, the pain is too fresh and it's impossible to hide their emotions. When their eyes find you gone, they finally lose it. They jump out of the bed and call your name in panic. You'll come back to the bedroom to answer them, asking them what's wrong and their legs would give up on them. It'll take a long time and a lot of comforting them before they open up about their nightmares.
Botha: They hate dreaming. Most of the time, it makes no sense and you wake up forgetting about it. Two of the things they hate the most. This nightmare was an another level of pain. They know you didn’t die. You’re actually right there, next to them… When they pet the bed and find it empty they bolt up. Be rational, they think. They didn’t die, they try to convince themself. They would start to frantically look around for you until they find you and envelope you into a tight hug. "Don't go far from me".
Nezha: They wake up with tears and immediately try to grasp onto you so they can ground themself. Finding nothing, they'll panic even more and stumble out of bed, breaking things around them as they search for you. All the commotion would brought you back to the bedroom. As soon as you step into it, they throw themself at you and the shock would make you fall. "Why weren't you here?" They'd sob and cry as you hold them. They'd be glued to you for a while.
Smith: They're used to nightmares. So even though they wake up in sweats, heart pounding, feeling feverish, they know it was just a dream. As long as they're next to you, everything will be fine. But you're not there. You're not in the bedroom. They're extremely angry, and terrified you're actually gone. When they see you in the kitchen, without a care in the world they lose it. They grab your face between their hands and whisper "You never do that to me again". Without any explanations, they'd bring you to bed and refuse to let go of you.
...Hello everyone ! This is a very much needed update after a long time of not posting... sorry.
First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who sent me a kind message, you are angels and I'm so sorry it took me this long to answer your questions.
For those who don't wish to read a long text that looks too much like a page from my diary, here is the summary. I'm officially back working on OLYMPUS. I don't promise you much, but one update a month for now (not necessarily a game update, but an update on me working on the game...yay?).
My 4 goals for January are a lot of ground:
Finish the character pages
Relearning twine
Update the outdated info on Tumblr / itch.io
Fix prologue (because of changes in the outline)
And for those who are nosy like me and want to understand what I was doing until now, buckle up !
I started this blog in the summer of 2021 and posted the demo for OLYMPUS exactly three years ago, in 2022. At the time, I was living alone in the US, with no life outside of work and this project, which was very dear to me. It was my first "real" creative project I wanted to be serious about. I was also very depressed, being alone and away from friends and family sucked.
When I came back to France in the summer of 2022, I was determined to work on the game again. But then, real adult life happened ! My health issues, that I didn’t understand yet, started to really affect me. I lost two dear family members, saw my best friend become a mother and discovered that being a teacher is a fucking hard job. I was an intern teacher and had a final exam at the end of the school year to be a "real" teacher. So I focused on that, and it was a success. A couple of days after that, I decided to go back to OLYMPUS, and that’s when my laptop broke.
The one I had since I was 18 years old. Which contained not only all my class materials from my first year as a teacher, but also my essays and memories of my college years, and all my writing. And I mean, all my writing. From my very first bad fan fiction on Amour Sucré (or My Candy Love in English) that I wrote when I was a teenager and that I managed to save on my laptop, to all my documents on OLYMPUS, a project which had 5 years at this point. I was devastated.
Moving to the Paris suburbs for work didn’t help. I was finally back living somewhere close to my friends and family, when my job made me move far away again, to one of the most expensive and yet hardest place to work as a teacher in France. Because of the very high rent, I was first in a shared apartment, which was not the greatest. Work was even harder to manage. At the end of 2023, I felt stuck, watching life around me move forward while I barely kept up.
In 2024, things began to shift. I let go of some things and people, but made new friends, joined a DnD group, traveled, and even saw Dimension20 live in London (how crazy is that !). I moved out of my shared apartment into a cozy studio, traveled around France to see my loved ones, and finally got a diagnosis for my autoimmune disease, which helped me understand and manage my health. I also bought a new computer and started writing again !
Not on OLYMPUS though, no. Not at first.
The thought of returning to it felt overwhelming. The asks in my inbox, the followers, and the questions on itch.io made it feel like an impossible task. I convinced myself it was too ambitious of a project for a beginner like me. That no one cared anymore—not even me. It’s better if it stays a a silly little daydream I think about on my way to work.
Then, someone left me a kind comment asking if I was still working on the game. It wasn’t the first time someone asked me that, but something clicked. I thought of the me that posted the demo in 2022, how she felt and how I feel now. Maybe, if I started again now, it would be alright? I feel better, healthier. Instead of seeing the project as a burden, something I didn’t accomplish, a very public failure, I wanted to give it another shot. And if I failed again, so what? At least I'd tried. I don't to give up on this story.
I had to start from scratch of course, because everything but the demo on itch.io was lost. Rewrote the world building and the outline. I haven’t finished everything, but I finally feel like I am at a good place to start working on it again. Like, actually working, writing it. Not just my world building, or the outline. I am sure I made a lot of changes from plans I had before, and will probably change it again at some point. But that’s fine. You're pretty much having the first draft of the game anyway, and it'll be easier to rework things than to start anew every time.
This time, I’m being realistic: I’ve set aside four hours a week to write, balancing work, hobbies, friends, family, and my health. It doesn’t sound like much, but to me it sounds manageable, and adaptable to my work and my health. It means I could update you once a month on things I plan to do and have done.
So, for January ! The plan is to finish the character pages, which should take a week. Then, I want to spend some time on twine to relearn how to use it and eventually redo the prologue to fit the new outline. I also have to update itch.io and tumblr as well. Basically, a lot of ground work to let me start the final week of January with the first work path of chapter 1.
Anyway, if you read everything and reached this far, omg thank you so much and sorry I know it was way too long.
Really, thank you. I can't explain how much you, and all of this means to me. Your likes, comments, asks kept this project alive when I didn't believe in it nor in myself.
Hi! I wanted to ask I wanted to know which RO is from the most to the least jealous and how they act when they're jealous
Least Jealous ----> Most Jealous
Archer, Mishra / Smith, Botha, Nezha
Now who reacts the most when they're jealous ?
Smith, Archer, Nezha, Mishra, Botha
I did answer the question here, but I will still write a bit about the order !
Archer is very secure in your relationship, and trusts you so they'd react really only when they think the other person is literally disrespecting them in front of them.
Smith is more or less the same, but with the added fact that they're insecure and they are driven by fear of losing you to someone who might be better than them. They'd react the most to you having a good time with someone else they feel threatened by (more attractive, more powerful, more "something"). However, they know it's 100% a Smith problem that they feel you don't need to deal with. They'd quietly get mad until the feeling goes away.
Mishra is only really jealous of other people close to you. They deal easily with people flirting or unimportant people (in their eyes) surrounding you, but they are envious of your bond with other people (Jeremiah, especially if you used to love him). So they feel jealous less often than Smith, but at a higher intensity.
Botha has never been in a relationship, has never shared anything before so at first they will make a lot of mistakes and try to monopolize your attention, feel envious when they see you spending time with other people, laughing without them etc. You will have to have a sit down and talk about boundaries for sure.
Nezha feels immense jealousy but also feels the need to hide it from you because they are deeply ashamed of it. Even a small interaction that feels innocuous to other people could trigger them. Everything feels too intimate. They'd be clingier, but not really ready to talk about it because they're afraid of ruining things with you if they show you their "ugly" thoughts.
What would the ros think of an mc who is adorable when they are mad? Like the angriest cinnamon role?
Also how would they react if the mc was mad at them but still needed to be touching them? Like holding hands but not wanting to look at them.
And finally how would they act if the mc threatened them with the worst punishment imagineable, no more kisses!
This is the cutest
Archer: they would be the most affected by this MC. They love their physical touch moments with you. Plus, one look at that adorable face and they would feel their heart skip a beat. When your hands sneak into theirs, and you say that this doesn’t mean that you’ve forgiven them they feel their knees wobble. They’d reach out to kiss your frown away when you make that final threat. They would feel like they have just been hit by a truck. “No more? Until when?” They would hit you with their puppy eyes to change your mind. They can't do anything else until you've forgiven them.
Mishra: They can be stoic in front of the adorable face, and stop their fingers from responding to your gentle caresses because they're mad you're mad. But the threat, the threat was too much. They would pick you up on their shoulders, and lead you to an isolated place where they can thoroughly make it up to you. And they keep up with your threat, no kisses. Until you beg for them that is.
Botha: The least bothered by the difference between adorable and angry. They can see you are angry, clearly, why would they think it's adorable ? Why are you angry ? Is it because of them ? What can they do ? With the touch but no look, would be too confused to react properly. Would let you do as you please without complaining. And when you threaten to not kiss them anymore, they're even more confused. "I'm sorry, how can I earn them back?"
Nezha: Horror. Misery. Despair. All words that are lacking compared to what they're feeling. They would be amused at first, by the adorable way your nose scrunch and your mad face. They would stifle a laugh when you bury your head between their shoulders because of course you can hug them without looking at them, it's perfectly reasonable. But if you deprive them of kisses, how will they survive? In their best Braveheart voice "You can take my life, but you'll never take my kisses"
Smith: seeing you angry immediately sets them angry and they bring the same energy. Until they realize they are demon like while you look like an adorable kitten. Then, they pretend to still be angry but have no fight in them. The angry feelings softens even more when you reach for their hands, and say you're still angry. "That's unfair. Why are you so cute? How I am supposed to stay angry now?" And with the final threats, you completely break them. "So what? I don't care. You'll yield before I do." 2 minutes later. "It's not really a mature way of doing things, we should make up right?"
Do any of the ROs want kids? If they do how many would they want?
! Children asks mean obligatory reminder that this is all in good fun, children will literally never be mentioned in the game. Head-canon what you will if you don't like my answers.
Archer: Yes ! They come from a big family, and loved having many siblings. Would want the same for you and them. If it was solely up to them, they'd want 4. Maybe a fifth one, when the others are a bit older.
Mishra: Could go either way, but would want to be experience being a parent. They really admire theirs, and would like to expend your family. One would be enough for them.
Botha: First instinct would be no. They now have a good relationship with their family, but they were alone a lot because of their parents work. Which makes them doubt they could be a good, present parent like they wish they had. Would agree if you can reassure them about these issues. If you do have children, they'd want two, so that they can be together when they're not there.
Nezha: Would freak out a lot about being a parent, because they think they can barely be responsible enough tu survive themself. They would have to be responsible for raising another human being? Are you sure it's a good idea? They do think they'd make cute kids though. If you reassure them, they agree to have one kid first to see. Then, as they grow up, they'd tell you they want another. If you agree, the same happens again a third time. Three is definitely enough though.
Smith: They had a pretty rough childhood, and would definitely be unsure if being a parent and having kids is something they want. They for sure wouldn't want that for a while, and would enjoy spending time traveling and working with you. If you do decide you definitely want children, would want only one. They want to give their all to their child, and don't feel they could do that if you have more.
Archer: Contrary to some other team members, they don't read a lot and prefer to watch movies instead. Their guilty pleasure is 100% regency novels movies, and after seeing a movie adaptation they probably bought many Jane Austen's novels, but never actually read them.
Mishra: Official answer: a pretentious and very long book that will make them look cool and smart at the same time, like War and Peace or Les Misérables. They have some very fancy edition in their library. Real answers, Twilight. They've read the books multiple times, it was their fandom growing up. Will deny vehemently. It's hidden in their bedside drawer.
Botha: They read a lot, and officially their answer might change depending on the book they've read lately, but really their answer is La Morte d'Arthur. It was their bed time book when they were little, and it's a confort book to them. (although, for the author, this book is impossible to finish lol)
Nezha: This is tough. They also prefer movies to books, and probably don't have a favorite one. If pressed for an answer, they'll give you a random one they had to read for school as a kid.
Smith: Lords of the Rings. (did you know, in the movie Viggo Mortenson...) They are nerdy and generally they try to hide it but are unable when it comes to Tolkien.
