You feel a soft, barely there kiss pressed delicately upon your temple, “Good morning, darling.” the low, deviously sensual voice of Lucifer is pressed right against your ear. 

“Morning.” You sigh, turning around in his arms so you face him, eyes barely open and hair strewn about. 

It's early enough that Lucifer has yet to tense with stress. His eyes are soft, shoulders unburden, and a small smile graces his lips. 

“I have to get ready for my meeting.” He whispers, as if he hates to break such horrid news to you.

And he should hate it. Because with the news you immediately frown, arms tightening around his waist. 

“No.” You sigh, definite in your answer, laying your head against his sternum.

“I only speak the truth, love.” The smallest kiss is placed against your scalp. 

He lets out a light breath, nearly a chuckle, “I do.” Lucifer says solemnly, “and you know I do.”

“Don’t speak like that.” You wrap your legs around one of his.

“Bad, bad, bad.” You yawn half way through, the vibrations of his chest when he speaks lulling you back to sleep.

For a moment, a moment Lucifer wishes to never speak of to anyone, he watches you with fondness. If he was a weaker man he would cancel his meeting and sleep in with you. 

Alas he is anything but a weak man if your previous escapades were anything to go by. 

“You can go back to bed.” He whispers atop your head before slowly sitting up, attempting to untangle himself from your arms. 

Unfortunately to him, he is attracted to equally strong willed people.

“Noooo.” You groan, arms a vice on his waist. 

“Love.” He chides with a barely there smile on his face, “please, I can’t be late.”

“Only…” You mumble, strings of sleep pulling you back every second, “only if tomorrow we sleep in. and go out for breakfast.” 

He takes a moment to deliberate, before a heavy sigh leaves him. Weak for only you, he supposes.

“We can sleep in tomorrow, and go to breakfast,” He resigns. 

“Good.” You smile, releasing him and smooshing your body back into his bedding.

“Yes…” Lucifer speaks under his breath, standing up, “good.”

He stared at his own name, a rumble in his stomach and a distinct pressure deep in the back of his skull signaling yet another headache. He'd been staring for a while, sick of the way the lines of his handwriting curved and flattened out, curved and flattened out.

If he had to sign one more paper, open one more file, he'd throw it all away and walk to the other end of the Devildom.

At least, that's what Lucifer dreamt about as he sighed and finally continued his work.

Lucifer Morningstar. Stamp. Lucifer Morningstar. Stamp. Lucifer Morningstar. Stamp.

It was the easiest part of his day and yet the most tedious. It left room for thinking. Contemplating. Yearning.

Room for the idea of more than a life bound to a desk, his quill his best friend, coffee his most important partner.

Because while Lucifer was known for his work ethic, praised for his accomplishments, admired for his discipline - millennia of work were not what he had always pictured for himself.

Sure. He couldn't really help it. Between his Pride, his oath to the Prince and the havoc his brothers wrought - what choice did he have?

But sometimes, in moments of quiet like this, he wondered what it would be like. To have some free time. To not have the highlight of his day be the glass of demonus and a few mellow tunes from a cursed record right before bed.

Speaking of quiet... Why was the HOL so still? The only sound to be heard the crackling of fire - and the knock on his door.

"You may come in." A knot of anxiety formed in his stomach: Would it be Mammon bringing in more dept? Or Satan bringing in more guilt? Might it be Barbatos with another stack of paperwork?

The knot was quickly untied by little bats, fluttering about within him, as you stuck your head into his study.

"They're all in their rooms, studying...or pretending to", you proclaimed, knowing very well he was expecting bad news.

"I thought you could use a break."

Your soft smile was all Lucifer needed to snap out of his misery. At least for now.

"Do you want to go into town with me? There's this flea market that should be open for another few hours."

He looked down at the last two documents that required his signature. Maybe there could be more. Maybe just a bit.

At least, he could see a flimmer of it in your eyes, as you beckoned him to join you.

Drabble Shot2- “Is that my shirt?”

“Is that my shirt?”

The demon couldn’t help but feel a small tinge of pride as he looked at your form, curled up on his bed, the black fabric covering your shivering from. He’d be the first to admit, the devildom could get fairly cold during the night time, he had mostly gotten used to it but you were still human. You were bound to get cold.

Lucifer quietly shut the door behind him, the never ending pile of paperwork for Diavolo having slowly diminished as he took his uniform shirt off. He couldn’t quite help stop the papers coming from the prince, everything needed to be completed in a timely manner much to your protests of him needing to take better care of himself.

His footsteps were quiet as he moved out from the school uniform, hanging it neatly before pulling on a loose pair of pants. He knew you would pout if he had put a shirt on, even in your sleeping state, Lucifer couldn’t help but find your mannerisms adorable in the small moments of peace. He wouldn’t trade anything for moments like these..

Where he can brush his hand up and down your back in a slow rhythm, his free arm wound around your waist as he brought you closer to his chest. Lucifer always tended to radiate warmth in the colder nights, the blankets on his bed covering the two of you. A human and a demon.. who could have guessed.

♡ I don't believe he's as busy as the fandom makes him

♡ He's fairly busy with a hour/two of free time to spare after meals

♡ Once a week, he'd slip away to spend time with Cerberus...what? He's not that cold-hearted to leave poor Cerberus all alone

♡ during a break of his, he started to miss you, so he had to pop in your room to check up on you and then propose to go out since the weather is nice

♡ it was nice but chilly as well, you, being the one who trusts your lover more than you should, were not dressed for this weather, not in your thin pants and short sleeve shirt

♡ Looking at him from the corner of your eyes, you can see him smirking a little

♡ "Would you like to wear my coat?"

♡ you nod, expecting him to put the coat over your shoulders, not to pull you to his side and cover both bodies with the coat

♡ "Ahh, now I feel better, don't you?"

♡ Most of his time with you, lucifer likes to pull you to him, making you believe that you need him to be here but really he's the one that needs you, to be happy and somewhat sane

♡ like Giving you notes, in hopes of distracting you by writing so he can stare at you longer

♡ or taking you out when you're stressed or bored, somewhere to meet your likings, so he can see you happy so he can take your hand in his and say "You stir feelings deep inside me with that smile, dear."

♡ Okay so as the next king in line, he's... busier than lucifer but if he works hard enough and not make excuses to get up ever few minutes, he'd have a few hours to spend with no meetings or papers to read and sign

♡ He likes to send you handwritten letters of how much he misses you and gifts in his break, things you two talked about before, a new fountine pen, softer pillows, matching bracelets... sometimes out of the blue even tickets/invitation letter to luxurous events

♡ A boat party, a ball, fashion show, play night opening, a concert

♡ basically he'll show a time of heart thrilling fun, he'll gift you memories to keep in albums because they're too precious to forget

♡ But his all time favorite moments with you are just being a couple

♡ Him stealing ice cream from your cone

♡ holding your hand while walking in the hallway between classes (much to Lucifer's dismay

♡ waking you up in the morning with kisses "If i could, i would definitely stay here with you in bed but Lucifer's waiting outside.. C'mon..would a few more kisses do the trick?"

♡ cuddling with you at night, his head on your shoulder, your arms around him and your fingers combing his hair, it's perfect to him "that tickles, love..."

♡ his lips twist upwards against your clothed shoulder...then his lips frown

Lucifer might be growing soft

A record plays, stationed in the corner of Lucifer's study. A new one he bought after his anxiety got the best of him, unsure the effects cure vinyls may have on humans. 

The room is fairly quiet. 

At the ordained wooden desk sits Lucifer, left in only a button up, slacks, dress shoes and the tie he's been pulling at and fidgeting with for the past hour and a half as he works. Deliberate gloved fingers shuffling through papers and writing with a pen that likely cost more than your over world apartment. 

Originally you sat on one of the plush red chairs, but within an hour you moved to the floor, using the coffee table as a desk rather than going to your room. 

You’ve been here for well over three hours. Joining Lucifer not long after dinner. But now, the fireplace is castling delicate lighting on the regal room. 

You’ve chosen to ignore your work  —most of it is done anyways—  in favor of watching the demon. 

Thin silver glasses set low on the bridge of his nose, hair ever so slightly jostled from when he runs his hands through it. 

The fireplace illuminates the right side of his face, emphasizing his carved out jaw bone and deep eyes. 

It's hard to tell the time in Devildom if you haven’t lived here for very long, but you are confident it's late. Late enough to rest your heavy head in your hand, eyes half lidded as you watch the practiced movement of pride himself. 

And maybe this isn’t the best place to fall asleep. Yet the promise of back pain doesn’t urge you into moving. You don’t pack your belongings and you don’t go to your room. 

You also don’t acknowledge the ever growing fondness flowering in your heart. 

Instead you fall asleep, slowly closing your eyes, facing a man you should fear.

A man who looks at you with warmth in his eyes when he notices you napping. A man who will gently carry you to your room and place water on your bedside, and act like he did no such thing the next morning. 

A man named Lucifer who may be growing soft for a mortal.

Demons scary, okay but imagine Diavolo or Lucifer clocking out early, rushing to put his coat on, his face showing no emotion. Walking fast down the streets, looking around with furrowed eyebrows. His lips slowly curl up into a smile, enough to show his fangs. As his kid runs up to the taller figure, his eyes soften and he kneels on one knee. He laughs and hugs his child, kissing one cheek before he slips off the back bag on the child's back. With him wearing the small backbag, his hand is holding his child's. When they get to a park, he sits down and watches the kid with the bag still on.
