Michael and Lucifer are those brothers who were once inseparable but now hate the sight of each other. This is why Michael went to study at the other side of the US & is only home when Lucifer isn't. This is why Gadreel, the Devil's best friend for years had never met him. Until now. And God help him, he is crushing hard and even misses to notice that he had actually fallen for the oldest Novak. So now he must get out of Lucifer's shadow if he wants Michael to spare him a glance. Talk to me~!pls
Maybe there’s some big event that makes them get together. Lucifer hates their dad with fervor but he tolerates their mother just fine. He’s even amused at her antics and likes to spend some time with her so he still visits her from time to time, obviously when Michael’s not there. He had even made her mother swear that she won’t plan anything to put them together in the same a room, ever. But Gabriel is going to marry and he and Lucifer are still close so after some pleading from his little brother because Gabriel wants his family together at least once, he decides to go even when he knows Michael would come. He wouldn’t miss their Gabriel’s most important day.
Still, Lucifer hates half of the family (if not all) so he convinces Gadreel to accompany him. It’s easy because Gadreel is thrilled to know what kind of people are Lucifer’s family. Lucifer scowls with just the mention of his last name, that would made anyone wonder. He’s especially curious about that ogre Lucifer says is his brother Michael.
So back to the wedding, Lucifer comes early to talk to Gabriel, maybe while he’s still dressing (he doesn’t want to greet everyone) with Gadreel next to him, of course. Lucifer introduces them and they just chat and catch up for a while and everything is fine. But then the door’s opening and Lucifer turns his head, Gadreel following suit, and everything just stops. Gabriel is small so he doesn’t see who is the one that came so he peers curiously from Lucifer’s shoulder and sees Michael standing there, still, hand still holding the knob. And they kind of stare at each other for a while.
Gabriel tries to say, “Hello, bro,” but it’s kind of interrupted by Michael.
“I want to congratulate Gabriel,” he says and is a wonder that his voice stays even.
“Well, too bad. He’s talking with me. Go and wait outside.”
“He’s my brother.”
“Yeah? Mine, too.”
“I’m older, I deserve—”
“Oh, don’t put that card on me, Michael. I was the one that came early. You go.”
Gadreel’s brain would kind of snap then. “Wait. That’s Michael?!” He turns to see Michael again and gives him a once over. He can’t believe what his eyes see, because it can that the handsome man standing there is the same Lucifer had complained about for many years. I mean, he’s not what he pictured. He’s quite opposite, actually.
“Yes, I am. And you must be?” Michael walks towards them and holds a hand for Gadreel to grab with a charming smile accompanying. Gadreel kind of melts a little. Though just as Gadreel is moving his hand, Lucifer slaps Michael’s own away.
“He’s my friend. Get your own. Oh, wait. I forgot your horrible temperament makes others run away searching for refuge, sorry.”
Michael scowls and he’s already moving forward into Lucifer’s space when Gabriel’s hand on his chest stops him.
“Come on, guys. Is my wedding. Can we not slash our throats until its over, please? For me?”
There’s a snarl between Michael and Lucifer that lasts more than it should be but Gabriel gives another push and then they both roll their eyes at the same time. Michael is the first to back away.
“I’ll come back in half an hour,” Michael says with a mock grin before tuning towards Gadreel and giving him a more honest smile. “I apologize that you had to see this…?”
“Gadreel. I’m Gadreel.”
“Oh, my god. You’re so insufferable.”
Michael throws a glare at his Lucifer and his dramatic tone before his eyes go back to Gadreel. “I hope you enjoy the evening. It was nice… meeting you.”
