Syncline is a residential home which we are building in the deep south end of Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was designed by the award winning architecture firm Omar Gandhi Architect. For a link to there page on Syncline, click here.
For pictures of the progress, see below. We are in the final stages of completing the exterior and will be moving to the interior soon.
Above is the view from the street. The garage is the opening to the right, with the front door being a hall walkway just before that. The exterior material is a concrete fibre board with exposed steel beams and concrete.
Here is the view from the back. These curtain wall windows overlook the North West Arm of Halifax, the section to the right is more then two storeys high of glass. The center section of glass is the stairwell, and the left side section is one and a half storeys of glass. The view from the rear of this home is spectacular, as it is overlooks all the other homes in the area.
A close up view of the left side section.
A close up view of the right side section. This three storey section will be the walk out basement to the concrete deck area.
A view from inside looking out the rear of the home, which will be the dining room.
Here is a picture of the shipment of charred wood, which will become a section of the siding on the outside of the home, a very unique look.
Stay tuned for the next blog of a home which we completed a few years ago where we recently went back and built a garage with this similar type of unique siding material.
