Thick dust lined the shelves of Robbie and Purah’s apartment. Along with all the shit they had strewn on the floor, Link’s day off was going to be a long one. “Baby, you don’t need to do this.” Robbie stared at his partner, “This ain’t your home.” Link winced ever so slightly at the words, they knew they didn’t have a home, could this not be the closest? It was like reading a book, “I meant, you have no responsibility to clean it. I like to think, wherever I am is your home.” Robbie leaned his head forward ever so slightly and winked. Link was gaining the power of immunity, although they were internally sighed relief at the fix in words. ‘Until you don’t have a home, that it’ The signs were obstructed by the gloves they wore, but Robbie could make it out all the same. Robbie, stopped the tap water from filling the bucket. He and Purah had tried. God they had tried to keep the apartment clean. Unfortunately while they were compatible in so many ways, this was not one of them. Purah was chaotic, unmethodical. She cleaned where she pleased. If there was a spot on the fireplace, she’d clean it. Then she’d move to the bookshelf the other side of the room. Robbie was not. He was systematic. Start at one end and work your way to the other, don’t stray from pattern or you’ll mess it up. So them cleaning together was a nightmare, not only that but neither of them cared. Some people came in and thought it was squalor, the scientists just didn’t give a shit. But Link did… and Robbie was grateful about that.

“You’re the first person to help y’know. Most people just complain.” Robbie added a glass cleaning solution. Link’s hand’s were busy cleaning the shelf, “Well aren’t I nice.” Robbie chuckled, “Darlin’ you ain’t just nice because you’re helpin’ me clean.” There was a flirty tone to Robbie’s voice. Wasted air, Link was on a mission and they would not get side-tracked by their gorgeous boyfriend. “Are you going to start cleaning the windows?” Robbie stuck his tongue out in return.

The pair had only cleaned for about an hour, and half of the room was done. Link was a powerhouse of determination. “Jesus babe, you really don’t give huh? This place is shining like fuckin’ Chrysler Building.” Link cocked their head, to save their voice and busy hands. The Doctor smiled, he loved when Link did that. The amount of trust they must have in his to be able to use body language instead of sign, “Earth thing.” Link rolled their eyes slightly with a smile. They finally stood back from the counter they were cleaning to stand next to their boyfriend. ‘Let’s take a break, I wanna hear about it.’

Purah came home from a long day of listening to her sister complain about her lifestyle and Queen Zelda tell her sister to stop. Girls’ days out were not her thing. So when she came home, she planned to snuggle up on the sofa, hoping Robbie would join her and Link would order takeout or something. However her plans were slightly changed, when she walked through the door to a half clean house (which she was not about to clean the other half of) and her boyfriend laying on the sofa with his partner resting over him, both asleep. She smiled, “dimwits.”
