At first, it had started off as nothing more than a silly rumor. A conversation starter the employees laughed over in the break room. And who could blame them? Even with the existence of ghosts ll but confirmed, didn’t make those cases any less rare. A few fallen items didn’t mean the little corner toyshop was haunted! The building was so old, it had probably just settled down into a slight tilt.
At least, that was what the nightly security guard told herself. Why did a place like this need night guards, anyways? For a few dusty antiques in the glass cases? Oh well, it paid well enough. She sighed inwardly as she put in one of her headphones, leaning back in the swivel chair as the movie’s orchestra began.
That was, until she heard something crash in the other room. She jumped slightly, gripping the cord of her headphones tightly as she glanced over at the security cameras. Nothing seemed out of order... wait, no. The postcard stand had been knocked over. “Shit...” She cursed under her breath as she pulled out her earbud and made her way into the main area of the store. That thing had been wobbly for as long as she could remember. Must have just finally given out.
She bent down next to the stand and started gathering up the spilled cards, doing her best to ignore the sudden chill running down her spine. Something wasn’t right. Her breath hitched as a child’s giggling sliced through the eerie silence, along with the familiar sound of a toy being wound up. They swallowed the growing lump in her throat as she slowly stood up, walking towards the sounds. An eerie green glow spilled out from one of the aisles.
With slight hesitation, she walked towards it. “Hello?”

After three days of their night-guard not showing up, the manager reviewed the security footage, and immediately called for the Ghostbusters. The elderly woman waited outside the store nervously, waiting for them to arrive. She tried to keep her shaking hands steady as she clutched her cellphone tightly.
