I don’t think that it’s because she thinks they’re unsafe but rather that she doesn’t want any more animals in the house period. When we were younger we used to have fish (and I told her that they’re ‘practically like fish’ to try to sway her) but I think it’s mostly that my grandfather used to do the majority of the upkeep of the fish and we haven’t really had pets beyond 1 cat and 1 dog since he passed so I guess either she doesn’t think i can take proper care of them or she just plain old doesn’t want anything similar to a reptile in the house. idk. She reacts the same way when I ask if we can get another cat too.

when I said that she was “safe from axolotls” I meant like, I wouldnt bug her about them anymore and she wouldnt have to hear about it
