The best omnitell deck is white omnitell
Emjati eternal weekend (part 2/2)
I already talked about the Vintage part which was a blast. For time reasons, I did not participate to the old school challenge in the afternoon. I however registered to the sunday legacy with the legacy deck I know most, OmniTell. This time a opted for the black variant with Profane Tutor. It really went worse than I hoped but it's a process. I don't really remember a lot of specifics about the matches but it went something like this:
1-2: ur delver
2-1: goblins
?-2: doomsday
2-0: slivers
?-2: aluren
Delver
This was probably the tightest match and most fun match of the whole day. There where a lot of decision points and the games where always close. Game 3 I let my brainstorm get Dazed thinking it was ok. In hindsight it might have been a mistake, I'm not sure. I died to a bolt the turn before I could go off.
Goblins
In this matchup basically go for the kill faster than them. If I can develop my game before my opponent kills me, I win. Game 2 was lost with emrakul in play with him having a broad bord presence. Game 1 and 3 where won off the combo. In game 3 he boards pyroblasts and 1 mindbreak trap but discard should help clear the way.
Doomsday
A very difficult matchup which I should lose, and I did! We exchanged threats all along and discarded each other but in the end the 1 card combo wins from the 2/3 card combo. I don't remember if I won a game in this match but I remember that one of the games we durdled a lot.
Slivers
It seems that my deck only cooperated in matchups that are heavily in my favour. I cast 2 times show and tell turn 2 and probably cast a force of will on a chalice. My opponent kept poor hands and I had gas!
Aluren
I thought it was a good matchup but I always seem to lose versus this deck. Leovold got me by surprise and invalidated my deck so I bounced it in following games. I managed to show & tell an omnisicience only to not find any other piece and draw lands for a couple turns, dying from my opponent.
I dropped after that.
Takeways
Omniscience is a very straightforward deck and the matchups I was against where very lopsided except for Delver. I'm not sure how I should play against Aluren as I always seem to lose. I definitely would like to add 1 and in time 2 Emrakuls to increase my chances for the combo soon. I found that the Baleful Strixes where completely useless in the matches I played and I did not see it in the delver matchup, Profan Tutor is an amazing card as it is a very okay turn 2 which is going to help combo turn 4 or the perfect tutor when omnisicience is in play. I'm thinking adding lotus petal would be interesting to have turn 1 profane tutor suspended instead of the strixes. The discard package felt okay, it's like riding a bike with tiny wheels. You see what your opponent does and you can play around some stuff so that a good way to learn the game.

FNM Legacy @Demospel 12/11
I can still lock a top 8 in our seasonal FNM competition and for that matter I wish to score some points and build up consistency. This is why I chose to play UGw Omnitell for the remainder of the season. It's a fast enough deck to steal some wins but still has some interesting lines. I find it quite hard to play a difficult deck like Sharkstill when my brain is mush at the end of the week without a little rest. It doesn't mean that this deck is straightforward to pilot on the contrary but at least it's not an uphill battle in each machup.
My deck is currently based off this interesting article with a few personal choices. I play UGw because I own a Tropical Island and a Tundra. Veil of Summer is the perfect protection spell for the combo and Uro is good the grindy matchups. White is great for removal and for Teferi and also protects the combo. If I had more Trops and owned the Coatles, I would probably try an UG version but I find removal important. I like to have some wraths as well as they are a perfect reset button if you are really behind.
With Cunning Wish and Solve the Equation package, it's not that hard to find an answer to a must answer threat. Although I'm generally happy about the deck, I would probably tweak some stuff on a per FNM basis.
I had high hopes this time around but I didn't do that well although I started on a bang:
2-0: Humans
0-2: Goblins
1-1: UR Delver
Humans
Humans is a good matchup and I assembled my combo undisrupted game 1. Game 2 I was blocked from casting 3cmc cards pretty fast and I noticed that both my Show and Tell and all my wish package is 3cmc so that's a liability. After I managed to pull a crazy miracle Terminus, I was able to kill my oponent a couple turns later.
Goblins
Apparently, my opponent found it a very good matchup although I though it was unfavourable for him. In the end I was proved otherwise but I also did a few key mistakes. Game 1 I go for Show and Tell and put Omniscience in play. He put a Muxus that fortunately draws him 6 goblins of which a Masked Vandal. In response I cunning wish for Chared Summons which was a mistake. I should have wished for Sublime Ephiphany and stiffle the etb. I would have kept my Omniscience and might have been drawn out of the huge board my opponent presented. Game 2 I keep what I think is a decent hand but I counter a T2 goblin pitching a Brainstorm with another in my hand. Next turn I brainstorm lock myself. In hindsight, I should definitely have pitched the Omniscience instead.
UR Delver
A tight matchup but great games. Game1 we exchange some threats until I can cast my Show & Tell and show him the combo finish. Game2 drags along and the exchanges are pretty unfavourable but his treats are few and far between so I continue to play. Game3 we have 2minutes left on the clock. As I have a fast kill we decided to play the game but I was one turn too short to kill him with Show & Tell + Spaghetti Monster.
Takeways
I'm generally happy about the deck but there are a few things that I would like to change, I'm just not sure in what measures. I would like to have some creatures to pressure Planeswalkers or stall the board versus very aggressive matchups. Black is not very much seen right now but I might try it as I own the Strixes and Plague Engineers. A sultai control variant with Sedgemoor Witch is what I have in mind. We'll see.
Actually, what you did was windmill slam the show and tell on turn 2 against omnitell and shouted, 'It's the wild west, bitch! You got it?!'
"Pox master" Dan discussing how lucky Jerry is when he plays Legacy
UnTap.in
I had a weird string of results today while mixing in Modern and Legacy. 8Rack took down a "modern" MUDevotion fairly easily.
PhaseNought then took down OmniTell and Oops All Spells.
OmniTell was a quick 2-0. There was no answer to my turn 2 dreadnought either time.
2-1 - Oops All Spells - Game 1 I have the nut draw. He's passing the turn without playing a land which is making me suspicious and horde counters. I drop a turn 2 Torpor Orb and then on turn 3 I get 2 dreadnoughts in and then preordain snagging a FoW. He tries to go off but I have FoW and Daze backup. Game 2 he turn 1's me. Game 3 we go to turn 13. I FoW his first attempt and literally use every ponder and preordain in my deck to dig while using Vision Charms to self-mill in the hopes of getting a dreadnought back through my miser's Academy Ruins. I finally get a Delver out and on upkeep check my card, a 7th Island, and GQ one of my islands to shuffle the deck. After the shuffle I go to my draw step and boom! a Dreadnought and he concedes. He flashes his hand and he had naturally drawn all 3 Narcomeba's. I don't know why he didn't discard them at the end of turn while we were twiddling our thumbs but I'll take it. I showed him that I had Daze, 2 Misdirections and a Mindbreak Trap.
