whoever was the SMART ASS that thought it was a good idea to let a CHILD run around school campus ? not a very smart one anyway-- at least, not if they really cherished them. the school WAS filled with monsters who normally wouldn’t think twice about taking a classmate’s life ( himself included ), so either the motherfucker that allowed this to happen was either super IGNORANT or super COCKY.

but still-- a SHARK costume, huh ? what was he, a demon shark ? a shark demon ? a demon possessing a shark ? did it even make a difference ? well, it was a pretty SHIT excuse for a costume regardless.

whatever it was, it didn’t stop a spark of CURIOSITY to spread inside the demon, forcing him to muse out loud the words, ❝ huh. wonder if that’s FLAMMABLE. ❞ while staring directly at the costume.

a school camping trip gone wrong. lost for nearly a week with little to no survival skills, he had killed and eaten something that was weak, had multiple legs, and tasted of an indiscernible flavor. it had thrashed around in his stomach for so long, as if it was still alive, yet when it finally stilled, his body had changed. and he had been found. yet no one could see the major changes, the addition of arms and changing of his mouth. only the whitening of his hair was visible, and they chalked that up to fear. everything seemed to simply not be there, even to his parents. but this man before him, he could see. and shouji didn’t know whether to run or hear him out.
