I don't want to like, hate on Buzzfeed, BUT there is an article called «14 things you'll only get if you suffer from Omphalophobia» and it has pictures and gifs with belly buttons. Genius.
I want to start a omphalophobia community so pls if y'all're out there... hmu. For now I'm just gonna spam the tag with shitposts probs
Bob on his fear of bellybuttons
Me as soon as someone stretches their hands towards my belly
I feel so uncomfortable wearing short jeans that are under my belly button.. High-waisted only! Feels safer 😌
Trigger warning!
Every phobia usually has been caused by something.. So I'm going to share the story behind my phobia.
I was in elementary school, I was 9 years old. I really disliked my teacher for a lot of reasons, and she was weird in a lot of matters.
One day, in order to persuade the kids to not climb the sharp railings, she decided to tell a fake story (👏) that literally traumatized me and will probably never be able to get over
She said that a kid climbed the railings and once he was on top of them, he fell on the sharp edge with his belly button (I just got chills) and the edge came out of his back.
I was so freaked out. From that day on, I used to sleep covering my belly button just because of that stupid story of hers. That's really messed up. You never know, everything we say or do can have a horrible impact to others. I didn't like her, now I kind of hate her. What a stupid way to tell kids to just not freaking climb some railings.
And that's probably why I'm afraid of sharp edges or knifes. I am afraid they might either pierce my belly button or my eye.
