the rules of gravity
you taught me the rules of gravity first i was unmoored and you took my hand you held me tight first always deliberate and so very sure for once i could believe that this world has anchors that the world can feel secure
you showed me falling is a form of flying too but you say i taught that to myself and i don’t deserve you and we both know that for once i deserve something good that’s what you tell me and i smile like i’m afraid to take what i’m being given because i don’t get good things i don’t get good things and we both know that
without gravity there is no flight that’s what you taught me that someone has to hold you first and tell you there is nothing more beautiful than your smile even if you don’t think it’s true you tied me down and you set me free and one is not possible without the other you are my impossible thing and even if i get lost now i know i have you because you taught me how to be and so you are with me when i am without you and so i am with you when you are without me
