the birds, the birds, the birds, outside my window the birds have dipped their beaks in inky snow and are scrawling their signatures across the skies. if only i could glide through a life as simply as that. it’s useless to spend this much time thinking about who i am not, but tell me: who is there to stop me? who is there to reassure me i am wonderful as i am? i can be different; i can be better; i can believe. if i try hard enough surely someone will take notice of me. if i teach myself to fly then someone at last will turn and look at me. maybe i should just try to make the world the best i can before whatever time i have slips away from me and the birds.
