like...I am tired of so many trends in romance novels in general but I am def v tired of how fat women get written. Very rarely do they read like real people and not just a bag of white-centric body positivity slogans thrown together, or on the flip-side, a ridiculous amount of insecurities tied in a loose knot that does nothing but add unnecessary angst to the story for .5 seconds until the leading man undoes it all no problem. 

And that’s not even touching the way a lot of authors use food, food-related professions, and food-related words for the fat lead, rather than let them be defined by anything else.
