The Inquisitor has never looked so serious, Alistair can't help but note. If he had known she was this serious he wouldn't have asked her to reconsider in the first place. He regrets it a little now, especially since she seems a little cross that he might have questioned it at all. He hopes the offense is forgivable.

He takes a deep breath and nods his head. "Of course, Inquisitor. I was merely looking for confirmation that you were absolutely certain. There is… no going back from this moment, unfortunately. Once the task is done, it's done."

He takes another deep breath. Her conviction is admirable, stronger than any dedication Alistair thinks he might have ever held, and so he tries to look encouraging as he gestures for her to lead. Because while her decision may be a permanent one, their actions far reaching, knowing that she believes this firmly in them is a relief to Alistair. "I will follow however you want to do this."

It had taken him far too long to let her in, to accept what they had both known YEARS ago. It was a miracle she still had any love left for him after how long he had been dragging his feet, trying to ignore what he felt for her over the simple reason that he had felt overwhelmed by the situation and had had no idea how to put any of his emotions into words ( and part of him had feared the fact she was a mage and how stupid he thought that detail now ... ).

" And yet I hardly did anything good for you these past years. " No, he had made it worse, much worse for both of them. He could live with ruining his own life, at least it would be his decision, but he could not tolerate the pain he had caused HER for so long. " Really I must have been one of the worst things about this city — for that I apologise. " And even an apology felt like it was not enough. This city had cursed them both and yet he had made the choice to rip the wounds open further with bare hands. And for what? Self discovery? He still had no idea how to process his past, the memories he had regained. That part of his life hardly felt like it belonged to him. But the last thing he wanted to do was to put this burden on her shoulders as well. She carried ENOUGH already. He would not add to that burden.

After everything they've all been through, surviving the fall from the illithid ship it's surely some sort of miracle that what little things they have are in as good shape as they are. Still, finally settled in camp Orana has seen fit to make herself useful, and her spiders scarce at least until she's sure her little friends will not be crushed underfoot.

"Would you like me to mend that?"

The tear in the tiefling's shirt is a simple one, a neat little fix as well, though she will have to apologize for not having any matching thread in her sewing kit.
