So we’re on our way home from Harriet’s birthday dinner on the C from 23rd. These two are also waiting for the train there. I remember noticing her shoes. On the train they sit across from us and Harriet texts me (yes she was sitting next to me, we know how to do low key don’t-stare in NYC), “Is that woman an actress? I think I recognize her.” So I take a closer look and text H to say yes, wow, it’s Kyra Sedgwick. Then I add, fun fact, she’s Kevin Bacon’s wife. Then it slowly dawns on me that the very masked man next to her is, in fact, Kevin Bacon. We hear them talking and confirm him by voice recognition. They get off at some local stop on the UWS. Mike is then mad at me for not pointing them out. God I love living in a town with a safe and efficient mass transit system.
