2) a quick doodle I did years ago of a random weird photo I found that had a satisfying half-told-story feeling to it. No idea title of the photo I referenced for the doodle tho.

Even though I imagine the ancillary hookup process would be a lot more organized/less tangled wire-y than what I drew, the chaotic bony mass of wires and hookups is just such a fun look to draw, and I really wanted to put it on the frightened pose so… voila fan-art with artistic liberties taken.

Really want a post cannon fic where Seivarden gets stuck back in time when she was senior Esk Lieutenant... would love to see the interactions between her and One Esk/JoT. Seivarden is essentially a completely different person and all her emotional reactions are off from what it expects, ESPECIALLY her reactions to One Esk. Seivarden struggling with being in the absolutely insane position of being future-Breq's commanding officer, while One Esk is scrambling to figure out what's going on. One Esk being its passive aggressive self to a Seivarden who's no longer too self absorbed to notice, but also seems to feel... fond? chagrined? Rather than angry. Cannon typical poor little meow meow Seivarden. You guys get it

Ancillary Justice, by Ann Leckie

For a long time now, I have wanted a tattoo with the Rebel Star Bird from Star Wars, but it needed something else. To those of you that don’t know, Star Wars is very much an autistic special focus of mine, something that I have been nearly obsessed with since 1995. 

Science fiction generally has been a fascination of mine as well, and I have long been consuming as much of it as possible. Little less than a year ago, a dear friend pointed me to Ann Leckie’s novel “Ancillary Justice”, and once again my brain was alive with wonder and delight. So few things ever move me like The Imperial Radch Trilogy did (to the point that I have read all three books in the series seven times this year).

While the Star Bird is recognizable to many of you, the symbol superimposed and trailing underneath is the emination “Esk”, which is very closely related to the main character of the series. It stands for “beginning” (while it’s opposite, “Var” means “ending”). 

This is my second tattoo and I couldn’t be happier with the initial results!

I love this scene because it speaks volumes about Awn's relationship to One Esk, and because it's exactly what my baby sister does when my mom corrects her language.
