A Brief Shoutout

Shoutout to all of the kids who grew up with one parent or no parents, or distant and neglecting parents.

Shoutout to all the kids who became self-sufficient at an incredibly early age.

Shoutout to people whose parents didn’t show up to Parent-Teacher nights or any performances because they chose not to go.

Shoutout to all the kids who saw everyone else’s parents be incredibly loving and kind and use healthy parenting techniques and become so jealous of the most basic things.

Shoutout to the kids who never grew up with any healthy family dynamics but are making an effort to have healthy relationships in the future.

Shoutout to those who cannot, but who are trying.

Shoutout to all of you, you are so strong.

One parent (open rp)

Mike was waiting in the bus stop to the bus to take him home, his whning child in his arms. His chile was two years old, and had ice blue eyes and black hair, like his mother that left him with Mike a year ago. 

Mike sighed, trying to calm the kid. “Hey little one, You will get to eat soon, okay? The bus just need to come and then we will go home and eat food.” He said softly, patting his hair and calming him down. He just hoped no one around him was bothered with his whining kid.

To all the people who have had one or both parents leave

I don't know you're story, but i know it probably isn't pretty. My dad left sometime between me being born and my 2nd birthday, and i havn't seen him or heard from him. don't think i want to really. and to all of you out there who can relate, i want to share something a friend once told me:

Just because someone is responsible for your existence, it DOES NOT make them a mom or dad.

Meaning that even if they are your biological parent, it doesn't make them your parent. Because really, without the word mom or dad on them, they're just another adult who wouldn't mean that much. You have to earn the right to be called a mom or dad by loving and caring for your kids. :L

Do you have trouble paying for your childcare? The Daycare Trust claim that childcare costs are rising nationally above the rate of inflation with parents paying more than £8,000 per annum.

Welfare Reform tightens its grip on lone parents

The Westminster government's welfare reform programme is increasing the pressure on lone parents to look for work. Since October 2010 lone parents whose youngest child is 7 or over are no longer entitled to Income Support as a lone parent. It was announced on Tuesday 20 March 2012 that this age has now dropped to 5 years with immediate effect.
