need hugs this morning
if i were deschamps... oh boy
I've been playing basketball like for 10 years now and I've been hearing things like "that's not girly" or "you're playin' men's sport". And I can't understand why basketball needs to be a man's sport or why I'm less girly just for playing a sport I love with my entire heart. So, if you think that I'm less girly or you think that I'm playin' a men's sport, then gimme a ball and let's do a one-by-one. And repeat me that shit if you beat me.
Do the right thing
Today I saw a kid -- that I slightly know -- get buliled because he was wearing neon green shoes. He just hung his head low and walked faster as comments like "Girl shoes" and "Juans gay" were made... these were ill-informed freshman who thought they all had to please each other and feel stronger than others.
Then I watched a 9th grader talk with a 7th grader, he seemed so tolerant and polite. The 7th grader is my neighbor, with high active autism. Hes also unnaturally tall and has a very small moustache. To actually see him have a friend, someone to converse with and laugh with... it made my day just to watch it.
Please, do your best to spread the word. A world with bullying adds cutting, suicide, and emotional imbalance. If we can at least compliment, or maybe even befriend one person a day, the world will become far more united than before, because in the end, we are not all that different. We're al humans, raised on a planet who are trying to make it through each day. Pass this on and get others on board.
Review: Maybelline Volum' Express One-By-One Mascara
Maybelline Volum' Express One-By-One Waterproof Mascara
THE BASICS: This mascara claims to separate each lash while eliminating the clumps. It claims that because of the style of the brush, it will actually comb out the clumps, thus resulting in a look that is "bold without the bulk."*
THE EXPERIENCE: I can't tell you how many mascaras I've gone through looking for a mascara that doesn't clump up during application. Now, I did find one once that somewhat worked, and I kept the brush (more of a comb) to separate my lashes after applying the mascara of my choice. However, that routine tended to cause more issues than results, eventually I tossed the brush, and gave up on the dream of having clump-free lashes. Or so I thought...and then I saw it.
There it was, among the rows and rows of mascara, One-By-One hung up by itself, enticing me to examine it closer. Hmm...I pondered. Clump free...That's what they all claim. We'll just see about that... *Thump!* in the cart it went. Now, I don't know about you, but ever since I was a kid, the second I purchased a new product (whether it be cereal, nail polish, or a toy) I HAD to try it out the second I got home. This was no exception. I sat down, tore open the package carefully (ready to return it for over-promising and under-delivering), and began to apply.
After applying a few coats, I was in love. No clumps. Even better, it separated and actually helped curl my lashes upward WITHOUT CLUMPS! I even curled my lashes prior (usually when you do this, the lashes will stick together and when you apply mascara afterwards, it results in lashes being stuck together and kind of clumpy looking), there were no clumps! I looked like I has more, longer, and perfect lashes! Okay, okay...maybe not perfect...but pretty darn close! Now, no one will ever achieve the look the model has who acts as the spokesperson. However, my lashes were pretty darn close...or as close as I've ever been to achieving a promised look.
And....even better....the waterproof really IS waterproof (or at least tear-proof). I've cried many a times while wearing this mascara, and it may not have held up entirely, but it certainly didn't do the mascara river run as so many waterproof ones do. Oh, and I didn't end up with a mess - this is the first mascara I can confidently apply after my eye shadow without worry of black smears appearing at some point throughout the day!
WHY IT SUCCEEDED: The success is in the brush. Because of the little bristle-rubber-comb-like brush design, it coats and separates every lash while the formula keeps the mascara in place.
RATING: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the ultimate makeup wonder), I give this one a 10. (Assuming of course your goal was for finding a clump-free mascara that provides a more natural than dramatic look...)
