Zack chuckled and looked down at the younger version of himself. “Well… I have someone, but he’s not a girl. And I haven’t gotten settled down anywhere yet, thought I’m working on it kiddo.” The man ruffled the kid’s hair.
Squinting from the hair ruffle, as he'd never been fond of the action, the younger Zack thought long and hard on this development. Grown up him was with a boy? Not that his parents had anything against that, though his mother thought the notion was a little bit funny, but he'd imagined himself with a pretty girl in a house in the woods. A place with a bunch of trees for climbing and long hours of playing hide and seek.
Then again, such was the imagination of a five year old, and he figured as long as he was happy then it shouldn't matter.
"Okay! Whatever you say. But don't told me who it is 'cause then it'd be cheating when I fall in love with him when I'm big okay?"
