A long tale for another time. How the ae86 made it's way over here to it's new home
I'm lately
Winterized
Scoot doors, scoot mods, clean and paint brake master, element trips
2jz has throttle cable holder and started to get the removable rad support together. Going to attempt to Tig that and then mock up the harness and rad to clear everything then shave the holes that won't be needed. The OEM Gita air box is an idea I'm throwing around in using. The whole idea was to be OEM+ but all the shiny bits are making it not so cohesive. Time will tell. Also thinking of exhaust manifold and what I want to do. I have a plan but need to measure. Sound is very important to me
The 2jz is in, good clearance all around. I used some driftmotion a6 to jz mounts which worked surprisingly well. They did use the 4 non used holes on the right side so I tapped and cleaned those as there are no directions for which mount goes where. Honestly I don't remember but I'll take pics for reference. I'm going to do a guide on what you need and don't need when I complete the swap and it runs and drives.
Start of parental leave I took the 5m out, cleaned the trans, swapped to the jz to W bellhousing, found I needed the fork and pivot so got those, lived everything up and connected them all together. Torqued the trans to motor and got er ready to slide in
Minor updates. Put some frankenstein gktech spl outers on, modded the brake line brackets because I stripped a bolt hole so I cut off the other bracket.. For symmetry I cut the bracket lol. Bled brakes, pedal feels weird. Now back to wiring and putting the interior back together.
