“St. Louis”
a portrait of my younger sister and me from earlier today 🌸 ♉️♏️
11/28/17 - Still reflecting on rough times. You can see that I had a little mistake in that last panel.
11/26/17 - This is the first comic I drew after abruptly taking my leave. I still had a lot to figure out, both about myself and about comics. If the lettering’s too illegible, here’s a transcript! I promise that things get more legible from here on out.
Panel 1 - “On November 20th, I officially left medical school. I asked for one year off but emotionally I already knew I was dropping out.”
Text inside the mail window: “Dear Dr. [redacted], This is notice that I intend to take a leave of absence of one year, starting November 20, for personal reasons.”
Panel 2 -”On November 26th, in a desperate bid to feel productive, I drew this comic.”
Panel 3 - “How does one make sense of a life in reverse.”
Panel 4 - “How does one make sense of a life that is only passing hours, days turning to night and night turning to day?”
