I love how you write konigās and the other kortac memberās interactions, its so fun and witty!
I really love writing the rest of the KorTac crew because it gives me chances to really flesh out how I see them. Now, seeing as I almost never get a chance to write all these characters and whatnot, I thought I'd write out a little bio of how I interpret each of the KorTac members and how I like to think of them as I write. I wrote something for all the characters I think I might eventually write at some point, so have fun!
Roze to me is big sister energy. Colorado girl who went hunting with her dad and grew up tough, but she's a kind woman who supports women (and we love that) because she knows how tough the military can be for women. I think she's a bit rowdy sometimes, but she's always the type to check in and make sure you're okay at the end of the day and apologize if she goes too far.
Stiletto is also a woman supporting women, but she's a bit more... Closed off. Clinical. She's strict, cold, and she gets the job done brutally efficiently. She does not have time for games, but she does get a bit of joy out of outsmarting/classing someone when she gets a chance. Compared to Roze being the girl next door, Stiletto is the elegant business woman who takes zero shit from anyone.
Hutch is a big guy with a big heart. Everyone expects him to be rough, gruff and angry but he's just a really nice guy. He's always kind, fun to hang out with. Charismatic and easy to get along with. However, he's also the first to stop the games and follow the rules. He's a stickler for rules. Like, he's super fun and laid back and then you step out of line and he's on your ass. He's also a massive, massive nerd. Everyone expects him to just be a big dumb jock bro but he's very intelligent and thoughtful. He may be a football player, but he went on to computer science guys. He's a very, very smart guy who does not like people touching his setup and he's very nit-picky about getting things done right.
Nikto is not as tall as the other men (I see him around 5'10) but broad as a barn and built like a tank. He's calm, levelheaded (to a concerning extent) and put-together. He doesn't care about how he comes across, he just cares about getting the job done. This does mean that as the most eccentric operator (aside from Kƶnig and Horangi) he sometimes has the strangest stories about him (such as owning a pet hyena). Some people might see his indifference and quiet nature as him being a massive dick who doesn't care about anyone but himself, but Nikto's a very layered individual. He's quiet and cold, but underneath he's a very observant man who cares deeply for his companions. He once was a confident, brash and charismatic undercover agent but after the torture, he became quiet, secluded and suffers from dissociation. He has to be as cold and calm as he is because if he let his emotions bubble up, it would overwhelm him. Possibly the most emotionally intelligent of all the operators simply because he has to be to deal with his PTSD and mental illness. He's a quiet and secluded man because quite simply, he's got a lot of mental health concerns that occupy his head space. When he goes quiet, he's not ignoring you purposefully. He's probably dissociating and trying to regain control over his mind. Underneath his hard and aloof exterior lies a man who is soft, kind and thoughtful.
Klaus in my mind is a big jolly man. Over the top confidence, prideful, sometimes borders on arrogance. He's a loud man with a louder personality. He doesn't put up with bullshit and he's more than happy to take things into his own hands. A bit of a dick, honestly. Also totally brags about his eyesight whenever he can. Mind you, it's super cool, so go off king. He's a bit laid back, but always has a big smile no matter what he's doing.
Aksel is a bit more of a blatant dick. He's arrogant and prideful, but competent. He's got a bit of 'small guy' syndrome and makes up for it with a larger-than-life personality. The type to never back down from a challenge. Will absolutely get in your face if you say something he doesn't like. He's known for being difficult and argumentative, but he's also the type of person you can always count on to have your back. Honestly, amazing guy.
Declan O'Conorr is another jerk. He's a guy who's guarded, rough and angry most of the time. Will take charge when given a chance. Hyper-masculine. Underneath, he's a guy who didn't want to join the military but was given no other choice. He is probably so upset all the time because he's living a life for his parents and not for himself. Known to be rowdy and aggressive, but if you actually get to know him, he's quite understandable and a very well thought out person. There's a method to his madness, if you will.
Zeus is a big ball of sunshine. He's optimistic, friendly and outgoing. He's proud of all he's done and he's hopeful for the future. He misses his family terribly, but is still comfortable doing what he does. He is an advocate of justice first and foremost. More than any other operator, he is willing to work as a team and accomplish goals together. He is the glue that binds people together, the leader that brings out the best in his team. He's a burning sun, but he always has time to stop and care for the people who've stumbled along the way. It's part of what makes him such an incredible leader.
Oni is, understandably, a gruff individual. He's a bit hard to get along with, but he's dedicated to his work and he works hard. He is always the first to show up and the last to leave. One of the most dedicated operators you'll meet on the field. He's not a people-pleaser by any means, but if you earn his respect he's an ally you can count on. Respect goes a long, long way with this one. So does reputation. If you get on his shit-list (like Horangi), it's almost impossible to get off it. However, he's diplomatic when he needs to be and willing to admit to faults when he feels he's made a mistake. Quiet, but confident in himself.
Krueger is the only one I think I dislike, and that mainly comes from how I see him. I know he isn't KorTac, but I like writing him as KorTac anyways. If y'all can shove Kƶnig in 141 I get to shove Krueger in KorTac. That's my deal with you. Anyways, I think he's just a malicious dick. He's extremely aggressive and antagonistic. Very hard to work with. You never know where you stand with him. His humour is often just mean, and he's an arrogant prick. Loves to torment Kƶnig all the time because he's the other Austrian and he knows Kƶnig can't do anything about his crimes/deport him back to Austria. Kruger is just a jerk honestly.
Now, my two favourites that I've saved for last. One will be short, the other longer.
Kƶnig is Kƶnig. I have written most of my blog dedicated to him. He's a hard worker, he's an incredible operator, a terrifying commander to go against (or serve). He's known for being a terrifying force on and off the battlefield. Rumours fly around him based on his size, might and sheer ferocity in battle. He's a cultivator of fear everywhere he walks. It doesn't help that his sense of humour is either sarcastic or downright sadistic. Little do his colleague know, Kƶnig is a big sweet teddy bear with a sweet tooth. Seriously. Get this guy a chocolate bar and you'll be in his good graces for life.
And now, HORANGI. I love this little shit-disturber. If he weren't wearing a mask, you'd see him grinning all the time. Takes everything in stride. He has been knocked down so many times that he simply cannot give a shit anymore. He is the embodiment of someone who has no luck when he needs it, and all the luck when he's pressed against the wall. He's the type to be trapped in a building and then find a loose wall panel and sneak out undetected. Everyone hates him because no matter how bad things get, Horangi always lands on his feet somehow. He's the most resilient but happy bastard you've ever met. Nothing keeps him down for long and he's always quick to come back with a joke and a laugh. He's also so hard to actually get mad at. You know he's going to cause problems but you know it's going to be funny. He's a jokester, he's a player, he's a mess. We love him. He can literally do whatever he wants because at the end of the day, you can't go to bed mad at Horangi. He's just too lovable. He's a good, but he's also a great operator. He's reliable, calm when things get tough, and is someone who somehow always gets lucky. At least, in combat that is. One thing is, if he ever makes a bet, he will lose it somehow. Man cannot gamble for the life of him. Horrible luck at card games. Genuinely abysmal. Also cannot get a girl for the life of him. Something always gets in the way. Nobody can understand why he's single because, well, he's Horangi! He's handsome, fun, friendly, all the works! If someone actually gave him a chance, he'd blow their mind away. Just a shame he never gets lucky.
