Agreed. I was pointed to blender, and with the CFS brainfog I could never make heads or tails of it really. I'd LOVE a more accessible route I might actually be able to follow.

Definitely! I have a mixed Fibro/CFS diagnosis myself, and got started in this as a way to keep myself occupied when I got so sick I had to stop working (and it hurt too much to draw). I was lucky enough to make some fandom friends who were able to help me get started, but it really was overwhelming at first.

After the Muriel model (and a few others I have nearly completed), I do plan to do an actual step-by-step series for people who want to get into this on a low (or no!) budget, aimed specifically at people with brain fog, ADHD, etc that can make it hard to sit through standard video tuts. (Those go right through my brain like a sieve I s2g)

Yay! I’ve been hoping it’s not too dull when I give WIP snaps and running commentary, I just figure it might be interesting to folks who want to get into this stuff, and that way it’s not just radio silence for a week or so until I drop a finished render :)

To be fair, I’m going through Some Things on the personal front as well, and this was just kind of the crappy cherry on top of the shit sundae. I expect that my bummer will pass and the Smut will Flow - it might just take a hot second or two.

I mean, I’ve put so much work into these models and the rewrite - why abandon them now, right???

Oh, I’ve been handling a few life things, doing some personal projects, and putting my head down to plot out the next part of the rewrite and try to get some more 3D models out!

It’s been a little quiet on tumblr in general the last couple of weeks anyway, so I’m just letting my next sets of headcanons percolate for a while :)

To be fair, I’ve had a relatively long time on this earth to learn Things. ;)

I am right in that boat with you - CFS is one of the eleventy things making me a stay-at-home cripplepunk. I’m fortunate enough to have access to some level of treatment... but going to the grocery store (or a slow-moving weather system) can just ruin my day. :/ Doing a lot of sedentary things (like sitting at my computer firing off a hose of headcanons) is key for me, because boredom is the single biggest enemy of my mental health.

Oh yeah, I’m always a slut for the fiber arts! 😂

Let’s see, I... knit, crochet, sew, spin yarn with a spindle, and I’d like to take up weaving (with a rigid heddle loom, not just my tiny Zoom Loom square). I do have a compact spinning wheel that I still need to assemble. And I have a lucet that I have not quite figured out yet!

Tablet weaving would be SO GOOD for making BJD accessories and trims, I really should learn that too sometime...
