i will fuckin happily talk about farah nurse (who you can find here and here)

she’s 26 

her middle name is ayesha

like nursey she went to andover but because of the 6 year age difference they didn’t overlap

she went to northeastern university, majored in criminology and applied for the boston police academy during her junior year

she managed to juggle school and police training and soon became a detective

the day after her 26 birthday she took the sergeant’s exam and passed with flying colours and was promoted to sergeant of the a-1 district

(female officers make up less than 20% of the boston pd, never mind higher up positions)

(so obviously farah is nursey’s hero)

she’s currently dating a fireman, kaleb, from the department down the road from northeastern

(they met after one of her college roommates at the time set fire to a bag of popcorn in the microwave at 3am and he was on duty)

(they did not like each other)

(their dislike for one another was only fuelled after she joined the pd, bc you know police and fire officers are sworn rivals)

(this only changes after an incident where small fire turns out to be the work of an arsonist who ends up holding kaleb at gunpoint as he’s clearing the house)

(farah’s unit are called in and things almost go sideways but they manage to get kaleb out safely and arrest the guy)

(farah freaks out, kaleb also freaks out just a little bit, they become actual friends)

(then they develop actual feelings)

(but don’t be mistaken, they may be dating but that does not mean they are not still rivals when it comes to working in the field)

she played tennis at college 

she’s a very bad singer

she sings anyway

farah does a round trip to visit her ammi and mama in nyc and her dad in brooklyn at least once a month 

as i’ve mentioned before her and nursey have a weekly skype call session, every thursday at 8pm 

their conversation topics range from homework to homicides but often end up revolving back round to badgering the other for deets on dex/kaleb 

she grew up speaking a mix of english and urdu at home so she’s fluent in both 

but unlike nursey, who was born just before her ammi and dad split up and grew up with their mama around and can therefore speak in english, urdu and spanish, she’s extremely average at her third language and often finds herself pointing at random things she’s talking about and cycling through the word in english and urdu until finally shouting the correct translation in spanish

like her ammi and nursey she is muslim but unlike her ammi she chooses not to wear a hijab

she’s a really good cook so whenever her and nursey are visiting their dad she’s always in charge in the kitchen because nursey definitely inherited his ability to burn water from their father

farah doesn’t understand hockey

she tried really hard to learn the rules but in the end she’s just taken to cheering whenever nursey has the puck, booing whenever he gets checked, and yelling whenever he scores a goal

she figures that’s enough

she’s currently rereading holes

for the seventh time

she was ‘the horse girl’ growing up

nursey will never let her live it down and often brings up the number of rosettes she has in the attic

(he’s also using this as an excuse to brag about his sister but shh)

okay that’s all i got at the moment but yes i love farah

Favourite Protagonist

I mean OBVIOUSLY, he was my favourite overall character, so duh he’s my favourite protag (sorry Yuya, you missed by juust a smudge).

I picked up GX almost right after DM and, got to meet this guy. Well, the dub version of him. And yet despite that I loved him. It was nice to have such a fun, upbeat protagonist with such a sunny outlook on everything. Then season 3 happened but I missed most of that during my first watch through lol

Then I watched the sub. And wow, I love him even more.

So now, because we can never have nice things, we've got to build a really queer network to host Warrior Nun, Motherland: Fort Salem, One Day at A Time, Batwoman, The Runaways, a Xena reboot and the Harley Quinn animated series because YOU KNOW the clock is ticking.

In fact, there is so much cancelled work out there right now we wouldn't even have to worry about programming Wednesday nights.
