happy wednesday that feels like a thursday to me! god i wish!!!

i just published a fic and have yet to truly begin grappling between my next meatier ideas/wips (a sam fic and MM) so here's a nice easy one i've been writing on my breaks at work. zizka says it's MY turn to do a post-epilogue suchdol scene.

Henry shuts the door behind him. It's a heavy sound, settling into its hinges like the bodies outside settle into their graves. It's a certain sound, sure as the gates that await their fallen comrades— be they wreathed in heaven's light or riddled with thorny vines absent of roses. It's a holy sound, echoing like churchbells in the nave of Henry's head. Hans waits where he was promised, sitting half-dressed in a chair beside the fire. A red stain marks where the arrow entered him, the armour that had saved his life set aside now that the danger has passed. There's a flash of skin up his collar, where his shirt hangs low, which Henry traces with his eyes— before their gazes catch one another, and he's struck still. Staring.

hopefully next wip wednesday i'll have some angst to share.
