So he has grown. His ankles are showing, rather scandalously, and that’s the last thing Shisui needed right now. All he wanted on this trip was to blend in, not stand out. No such luck, apparently. Uchiha clan gatherings were trying as they were, and he tried his best to be a wallflower in those. But at least there he was among his own people; he didn’t exactly stand out at all, unless Fugaku called him up to the front for something specific. Among the Mugenjo, though? That he’s nervous is an understatement.
He’s also lucky, though. He’s lucky he’s been assigned a mission along the way, or there’s no way he’d be let outside the village to visit people just because. That Rita’s coming with him is a total secret. But whether that secret will be blown depended on how long his luck lasted.
He’s laughing anyway. “You know I would if I could.” It’s come to that point where he doesn’t even have to look at her to know what expression she’s making—or trying not to make. “It would stop people from telling me off for robbing cradles.”
