Those are the sounds of Jack breaking a weapon of some sort over her knee and tossing it in the nearest body of water. Tonight had been a stressful one, having to foil an assassination attempt and steal a fake necklace with a camera in the pendant.

She could still hear the sirens in the distance.... as well as footsteps in the area that didn’t sound like the detective or the fuzz.

Still, it was better safe than sorry for the phantom thief to hide. Thankfully dockside alleys have corners and San Francisco locals don’t look down those. Jack could just watch the stranger pass by, then bolt.

     sour cream found himself a little surprised by the question, not realizing he’d missed quite a bit of plot-- which was unfortunate for him, it seemed like a good one too but his mind kept drifting. he offered a small, embarrassed smile when he spoke, “sorry. i think i just can’t focus on it right now.” not quite a satisfying answer, but it was something.

Ruby found it a little hard to believe that Sapphire was talking to her at all. She wasn’t one of the ones that had been assigned to Sapphire. From what she heard, the rubies assigned to protect Sapphire had all been sent into their gems because of Rose Quartz. Sapphire apparently had the same thing happen to her. Other than that, things had gone well enough. The rebellion she’d heard about was quashed. So why was Sapphire there…?

Quickly, she shook her head. “Forgive me, your clarity. I don’t think we’ve spoken before,” she said. She stood up straighter and tried her best to look ‘proper.’
