@ontheairr ⧐ "Me? Shorter than you?" He tilted his head to the side and narrowed his eyes. His signature grin pulling tighter. "Hmmm. I suppose you can think what you want but I disagree. At least we seem to agree on many other things. That's always a good find. Like minds and all." UNPROMPTED ASKS.
"By the smallest of increments, truly," Hartfelt offered in hopes of assuaging the other's ego. If they were anything alike - and it seemed as though they were - his doppelganger would very likely take such commentary to heart and find it to be generally bothersome to be considered shorter.
"But Hell forbid I pull out the tape measure." He will not get that deep into the detail.
"I would ask for your name, but I suppose I already know it, hm?"

[🍎] To be perfectly honest he should have known better. Of course Charlie was still angry with him. She wouldn't call him a day after everything. He messed up her project big time and there was no coming back from that. It was his lot in life, to mess things up.
All he had ever done for Charlie is be distant and make mistakes. There was no coming back from that.
This was the very logic Vox had taunted him with when he captured him. Thrown in some fucking angelic steel cage like some wild animal. He couldn't break the bars and trying only succeeded in hurting himself, or being drained of power. Whatever this cage was it was hooked up to something that used angelic power as its fuel, and he was now its source.
The only savings grace was that Vox really enjoyed hearing himself talk so Lucifer was aware of what he was going to try and do. He was going to use him to break the shield around Heaven, effectively making the first shot and starting off this was. The TV wouldn't listen to reason, he wouldn't hear him out when he tried to explain that he doesn't know what he's starting, what he's bringing to Hell.
All Vox did was laugh and mock him. As if the King of Hell's words meant nothing.
But Lucifer knows better than anyone the wrath Heaven could throw at them. Simple sinners wouldn't stand a chance against the higher order of angels. Perhaps they could defeat the army, perhaps they could kill some of the stronger ones, but Lucifer knew this would not end the way Vox wanted. Even if he did manage to kill a good portion of the angels, Hell was going to suffer.
Not just Pride, but the other Rings too. His Sins, his family. Charlie..!
He would not see his daughter suffer. He just needed a solution to this problem. Unfortunately, it also meant relying on the one person he truly disliked.
He opens his eyes, glancing over as the tall moth-like Vee left the room. He wasn't sure where the other two Vee's were, but this left him and Alastor alone for the moment. Crimson eyes look towards Alastor. "Enjoying your little chair?" he hums, "Can't imagine your stay with these assholes has been very pleasant." Vox was insufferable, and so were the other two. Lucifer didn't like any of them.
"We don't have a lot of time, so instead of you mocking me, I want you to listen up." His eyes grow dark and his expression serious. "I want to make a deal. I give you power, and you get both of us out of here, protect Charlie and the hotel. Clock is ticking, Bambi and our host is listening."

It's been two weeks since Lua began working with Charlie under formal contract as tutor, advisor, and overall helper. Granted, all her knowledge applied to humans and life in the US. There was no telling just how useful it is now, if even half of it applies to the dead or even just an average Sinner. It was hard not to feel a little over her head, especially after the hours and days spent scouring through whatever books she could find either in the hotel or Pentagram City. If she ever has to see the name "Sigmund Freud" etched in the side of a book again...
In good news, her powers were finally starting to stabilize, no longer reacting to every little thing around her. The fact she feels emotionally numb again probably has nothing to do with it. Maybe. Maybe not.
That doesn't change that she has gained very little insight on Sinners and life in Hell in general. Something that greatly frustrates her. Walking around tends to help, so now she just wanders the halls at night after all the exercises and lessons are taught. Without any relevant books or case studies, that leaves only the hard way to figure these things out. She doesn't even understand her own form as a Sinner, other than how bothersome it's been.
Passing by Alastor's doorway, however, sparks an idea. If she could get someone to help her make the case studies and books she needs... She is effectively immortal with the ability to regenerate and respawn. The door lights are on, so if she had to hazard a guess, Alastor is probably still awake. Good, that means she won't feel bad as she knocks loudly on his door.

Hacker glanced around at the sinners that filled the room around him. Was this really what the path to Heaven looked like? Icebreakers? Undoubtedly his least favorite part of any corporate meeting and it had followed him here. This really was Hell.
As much as the people at HR would insist, he’d always found getting straight to business more productive. Though, he never had been one for making friends.
He shot daggers at the other demons who caught his gaze until he was the only one who hadn’t been paired up. Thank goodness for odd numbers. Hacker whistled innocently, enjoying the warmth of his fireside seat and tuning out the chatter around him.
“Let’s file that under ‘things you should probably never say, ever, just to be safe’.” - @ontheairr
“Hugehijonkerbadonkers?” Of course the angel repeats it again, just to be sure they are both on the same page as to what is not to be said ever again. It was a long and funny word, nonsensical sounding. But surely it had meaning! Or else he would never have heard another Sinner say it in the first place.
“Aaare you sure this isn’t a roundabout way of avoiding the question about what it means? Oooor is it something that actually should not be spoken? Like a curse or something?”

After spending two weeks being stuffed like a turkey repeatedly, things seemed to be going back to normal outside of Lua limping for a couple days. At least, that's what it seemed like. For the next three days, the usually stoic rabbit they were used to had been even more emotional than Charlie. And it was all over the smallest things. Ruined the TV signal while passing by? Break down. Fumbled something tossed to her? Break down. Stepped on Keekee because she wasn't paying attention? You guessed it, break down, but that's how she normally responds to realizing she hurt an animal. Every mistake yielded overwhelming emotions she couldn't control.
Anytime someone asked her why she was upset, they'd receive either a very sad and quiet "Nothing" or a very agitated one that breaks any lightbulbs near her. There wasn't anything they could do if she wouldn't - or rather couldn't - answer the question. The fear of losing complete control while opening up about her problems and the damage she'd cause by doing so always pushed her to keep her mouth shut. To try to deal with it all alone. All they could do was wait.
She was quiet the next day. Too quiet. More like a shadowy silhouette than anything vaguely humanoid, both in appearance and attitude. The only thing that she attended was the group breakfast, and even then she barely touched her plate before excusing herself.
