Be smart with your smartphone and get an app to help you keep track of your finances. There are loads of them available but we highly recommend OnTrees.

It's free, which obviously helps!

OnTrees safely and securely links to your bank account and helps users stick to their budget by bringing in all outgoings and income in to one place. You can create a budget and then track overspend (and underspend) so you can see where it has all gone horribly wrong and where you could possibly make savings.

It breaks down all your spending in to categories and presents them in graphs and charts so you can watch and check your spending quickly and easily.

According to the NUS more than 90% of students recommend OnTrees after trialing the app and Apple's App Store ranked it number one in it's 'FREE Finance App' category.

Sadly it's only available for the i-Phone but an Android version is promised soon... Hopefully before term starts at the end of September.
