OO Tea, 7330 Clairemont Mesa Blvd #106, San Diego (Kearny Mesa), CA 92111
The signs say OO Tea but there are other signs that say Wushiland Boba. Therefore, OO Tea must be the same as Wushiland Boba. I’ve been to the Wushiland Boba in San Gabriel. In Taiwan, the chain is known as 50 Ian. Order at the front and they’ll give you a buzzer which will go off when your order is ready.
The drinks include brewed teas, tea lattes (including organic options), milk teas and yogurt drinks. There are two sizes, Medium and Large. You can specify sweetness and amount of ice. They also have a few add ins: boba (regular and small pearls), red bean, and grass jelly. It’s a drinks only place; they don’t sell food. The base tea is already brewed, but drinks are made to order.
* Roasted oolong milk tea (Large, $4.24, plus 50 cents for grass jelly, less ice, 30% sweetness): The drink was extremely creamy (non-dairy creamer?) though I could taste the tea still. It was too creamy to be just milk. Thirty percent sweetness was still sweet, so their drinks must be pretty sweet if you order at a higher level of sweetness. While the drink was too milky, I really like their grass jelly because it’s very soft and fresh.
OO Tea is inside 99 Ranch.

OO Tea - Boba Milk Tea
(Location: San Diego, CA)
OO Tea is apparently the first US branch of arguably THE most famous Taiwanese boba chain, 50 Lan. Their boba milk tea is good, but not in a way that stands out from the other famous boba chains from Taiwan. The tea is extremely creamy and sweet, which makes it thick in texture and sharp in flavor. The boba is chewy, but not perfectly qq. Overall, it’s a very solid drink that reflects what I’ve tasted from many different places.
